Vancouver, BC based forever GM Marty here - I run two weekly GURPS games in a homebrewed 1920s Cthulhu-esque Horror world, so if any Vancouverites are looking for in-person play and can consistently be available weekday evenings I may have a seat at the table for you. Having just retired though, I'm looking to add more gaming goodness to my life - maybe even get to actually play rather than GM! So I'm open to both local in-person and alternate timezone Online groups that equate to mornings/afternoons in PST - e.g. GMT 4pm-midnight-ish. I've been playing since Red Box days, but I found myself just not loving the core concept of D&D in any of its editions - Munchkin scratches any rare itch to kill things and take their stuff! Actual ROLE-playing rather than ROLL-playing is what makes is fun for me - conflict yes, but not necessarily much violence. Investigative games with lots of in-character social skill use are my jam - I've been playing Call of Cthulhu since the 80s, more recently Brindlewood Bay was an absolute joy to discover, and I'm trying out other PbtA games in hopes of finding a similar sort of vibe. On the more traditional Fantasy side of things, I like The One Ring - the Mirkwood campaign especially - mostly because of the 'off camera' between-adventure parts where your PCs really feel part of a community, and Earthdawn (the whole Kaer/Horrors angle gives a strong in-game rationale for dungeon crawls, and ED was doing 'orcs and trolls are just people' literally decades before the Critical Role crew brought that angle into mainstream D&D circles). In general I run Adult but not Smutty games - if they were movies they'd be mostly PG rated, with the odd 15-18 scene: scary, angsty stuff happens, if there's violence I describe it viscerally, cursing is pretty common, but the curtain gets drawn as soon as things get more romantic than would be acceptable in a public place. I have no problem dialling back the limits all the way to G-rated levels though - I've run games of Toon for elementary schoolkids and several 'cosy mystery' style games where the only saucy things that happen involve a stovetop ;-)

Hi there! I'm a mature player looking for a game with people who love the comraderie of roleplay. I enjoy a game that is heavy RP balanced with combat, problem solving, political intrigue, travel, survival or whatever aspects the GM wants to put our merry band up against. I'm in your world now. Play Style: I'm serious about having fun. I'm low maintenance and I fit well into most groups that are focused on the campaign at hand. I'm a stickler about showing up on time to every session. I put a good effort into making my characters fun for the other players as well as the GM. I'm not much of a min/maxer. I don't know the powerful builds as I tend to add to my characters in a manner consistent with their back story. I write modest back stories and try to include multiple hooks that the GM might choose to use somewhere along the road. I prefer to see a good story or interesting outcome rather than fuss over rules. I tend to get in character and stay in character for an entire session. I'm not adverse to long sessions, provided we have appropriate intermissions. Themes: I'm less interested in horror, more interested in high fantasy settings. Experience: I haven't played much for two or three years, so I'll need a bit of help getting back up to speed. I know nothing about 5e 2024 rule changes. I'm generally a quick study and willing to learn anything new. I'd prefer a DnD 5e 2014 game, but would be willing to learn 2024 and I do have some experience with PF2e. I have GMed homebrews in 5e on several occasions, but my first choice is to participate as a member of the party. I prefer Foundry VTT, but I have participated in past games using Roll20 and DndBeyond. I have fairly in depth knowlege of the inner workings of FVTTv12/13. Prefered Times: I'm in Ontario Canada (UTC-4) and would prefer games that were afternoons or evenings local time. North American games or evening UK/EU games can fit my schedule nicely. My schedule is fairly open, so I'm easy to accommodate. My ideal schedule would be a weekly game of at least 3-4 hours. My Setup: I have a nice quiet office and professional studio quality audio chain. I don't have a web cam. Objective: I'm looking forward to meeting new people, making new online friends and either joining a fresh campaign or fitting in to one already in progress. How now and well met! My name is Rando, and I have been playing TTRPGs for a very, very, very, long time. Finding myself now with an almost completely open schedule, I am compelled to fill up all this free time playing in campaigns. TTRPG campaigns. More and more campaigns... ALL the campaigns! I am looking for a campaign (or five) to feed my insatiable hunger join a lively, well-rounded, and sane group of players who like to roleplay, share laughs, make memories, and tell stories collaboratively. Well met, stranger. I'm hiddenson. I've played different rpgs since the 90's, both as GM and as player, and I'm getting back on the saddle. I prefer GMing because I love world building and long-term campaigns, tuning preset worlds to my signature flavor of horror and hardcore mechanics. My style is deeply immersive, often choosing to play the right track at the right second for the right scene. That said, I enjoy the acting and teamwork part of playing, so I'd like to do that as well from time to time. I recently launched a paid Vampire: The Masquerade Chronicle, so I'm willing to trade seats if our playstyles and game list match. As this is my player profile, I'd like to focus on roleplay heavy horror games. I'd love to play other settings of the World of Darkness. I have a lot of experience in the previous edition of Call of Cthulhu set in the Roaring Twenties, so I'm sure I can adapt to the new edition easily. Lastly, I have little to no experience in the other titles, but I'd like the chance to try them out to round up the horror genre. When it comes to my playing style, I'm roleplay focused and lean into characters keen on knowledge and lore rather than riches. I’m open to pretty much any system. I’m mainly just trying to learn, get comfortable, and have a good time with it. I’m looking for a chill, respectful group. No hateful stuff or weird vibes, just people who want to hang out and enjoy the game. I like a balance between roleplay and gameplay. I’ll get into character, but I’m not trying to go super hardcore with it. I lean more toward rule of cool than strict rules as long as things stay fair and fun. I enjoy character-driven storytelling, party relationships, meaningful combat, exploration, mystery, downtime, and emotional moments that feel earned rather than forced. I like games that are sincere without being too serious, and funny without becoming constant jokes or bits. Consent and boundaries are important to me. Hello, I've been playing D&D and other TTRPGs for about 20 years starting with D&D 3.5e. I played 4e for a few years and then played 5th Edition when it released and have played it many times since. I worked at a D&D summer camp for 4 years as a councelor and GM for kids ages 8-13 playing 3.5e for the first year and 5e for the last 3. I have also run many one shots and short adventures for my friends. Because of a combination of getting bored of the system and not liking the business practices of Hasbro and Wizards I stopped playing D&D 5e last year and I'm looking to learn some new systems. I've run a couple one shots in Cyberpunk Red and Tenra Bansho Zero and ran a short campaing for my friends in a homebrew system of my own loosely based on the webseries Epithet Erased, but other than that have been a D&D forever GM for most of my life. Characters: Chara: Half-Bronze dragon sorceress Kerian Kane: Half Elf warrior/paladin (has a bit of a homebrew mechanic) Thadeus "Pony" Goodman: Centaur ranger Rowd: Hound Archon paladin Maggs Madds: Faun bard Koimarra: Sphinx rogue, no magical abilities. (I've toned down the default sphinx stats to make her a fair challenge. She is essentially a cat shaped human who doesn't want to fly during combat because that makes you a big target and calls attention to you. She prefers not existing.)

Hey guys, I'm Korben. I go by a lot of names, so call me whatever you want, I really do not care. I've played D&D constantly for about 7 (almost 8) years, and I've made it the only thing I really do outside of school and work and such. I really enjoy D&D, not particularly because of the combat or roleplay, but more so because of the pure creativity and lore in campaigns. It sparks my mind in ways I can't usually which is one of the reasons for me enjoying it so much. I do still enjoy combat and roleplay a lot though, but I might struggle to get into my characters voice sometimes. In terms of what I like to play, I dabble in a little bit of everything. I've played all the way from homebrew campaigns, to roleplay campaigns, to official campaigns, all the way to oneshots. I've played every genre immaginable ranging from high-fantasy, low-fantasy, sci-fi, historical, modern, horror, and puzzle.

Hello! My name is Jay, and I am an 18y/o student looking for DMs/GMs running new one-shots/full campaigns who might have me as a player at their (online or in-person) table! I have been interested in and reading up on D&D (specifically 5E and 5.5E) for about two-and-a-half years now, but have never been able to play an actual game with a group, so I am a beginner. But, I am also a fast-learner who can pick up on your playing style (and homebrew rules/mechanics, if you're using any) quickly. I can play in both online campaigns and at IRL tables (I am located in the southern Bay Area, CA, near Gilroy). My schedule, both online and in-person, is extremely flexible, and I am willing to play during odd hours when playing in online campaigns (for example, early morning or the middle of the night), and I am totally down with online international games with players/DMs/GMs located in different countries/continents. I can use and adapt to whatever platform the DM/GM prefers to use to host games. I love detailed note-taking and would love to take on that responsibility at your table. My favorite main class to play is Paladin (I have a male, Lawful-Good archetype, Oath of Devotion Paladin who I have been dying to roleplay as in a game, but I also have a few other characters/character ideas and am totally willing to change his lore/character for the theme of your campaign or create a whole new one for it). I am both roleplay and combat oriented and will be entirely happy focusing more on the worldbuilding/RP or grinding with your table in more dungeon-crawler-like gameplay. However, I do prefer games with a balance of both. Some of my all-time favorite high fantasy medias are (video games:) The Elder Scross series (particularly Skyrim, but my second and third favorites are Morrowind and Oblivion, including its remaster), Elden Ring, Dark Souls I, II, & III, Baldur's Gate I, II, and III, (books/movies:) The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings, and The Legend of Drizzt (I am on book two of The Icewind Dale trilogy and have read The Dark Elf trilogy). I write a lot of fantasy-based stories in my spare time, and have been honing in my storytelling skills for a handful of years now. I love knights and medieval-based fantasy, but easily fall in love with all sorts of stories and worlds. I love both light and fun RP and the dark, gritty stuff. Mostly i have been stuck being the forever DM but have been playng recetly myself. I generally as a DM enjoy a lot of different style of games from crunching numbers and tactical combat to more lighthearted or serious roleplay. More keen of the classical dnd advanterous style of gameplay myself. I love running serious stories but cant stop to crack some lighthearted jokes here and there. I have a few oneshots behind me and one campaign, otherwise I was the player. Still some rules are vague to me so I apologise forward if I get smth wrong. Also I played mostly online except this year where I DMed in person but on a blackboard. I would be available mostly on weekends or during week after 19pm every day. I love homebrew content, for races like the Demi-dragon homebrew book, items or monsters. I am a real dragon lover btw. I used dnd beyond for monster characters but for the campaigns online I used Owlbear.

Hi! All told, I only have about a year of experience playing and GMing, and it's been a looong time, so I'm sure I'm quite rusty. My time zone is CST and my schedule is open. I have no strong preferences when it comes to frequency of sessions, system, or setting. Back when my friends and I actively played, I mostly GMed, using DnD 3.0/3.5, with a little Spycraft on the side. Even though that was years ago, I've never stopped thinking about RPGs, listening to actual play podcasts like The Adventure Zone and Acquisitions, Inc., reading random supplements and forum posts, and playing video games based on tabletop systems/adventures. I love backstory, lore, and worldbuilding and enjoy combat and dungeoncrawling, too. I remember my very first RPG session, when I was a kid, immediately opened my eyes to the creativity and improvisation that the format allows. All I'd done in our first battle was ready my weapon and lightly wound an unlucky bandit... while the far more experienced players of the group spent their first few turns positioning themselves technically, slinging buffs and debuffs, and throwing a tarp over the intimidating-as-hell bandit leader and then setting it ablaze with a torch. I was astounded; I knew I had to have more. The Discworld and Hitchhiker's Guide series of books are dear to me, though I'm down for nearly any fantastical story and setting (much like Pratchett and Adams themselves). Potentially relevant-to-tabletop video game series I've enjoyed are The Witcher, Knights of the Old Republic, Fallout, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, The Elder Scrolls, Divinity, Baldur's Gate, Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft, Legend of Grimrock, and many more. I like to let other players choose their specializations first, so I can try to fill any gaps we have, then build the character's background and motivation from there. That way, everyone who really wants to play a specific role is happy and the group as a whole is well-rounded. Plus, it's just fun to mix things up from game to game, so I've never really had a favorite class, though I do enjoy playing support (gotta have a healer/medic!). If you have the patience to help me shake off the rust and adapt to your setting and system, I'll do as much or as little reading, roleplaying, and rolling as you need. Ugh, this is really starting to sound like a sales pitch, ha ha... sorry. I'll finish by simply saying that I'm excited to meet you and see what adventures you've got brewing!

Hi I'm Edward. I'm an older player, been playing for about 4 years. While I love all aspects of DND - role play, exploring and combat - I find my favourite games are those that more or less balanced between the three. I love games that are challenging with lots of difficult choices and lean in to the party working together with the DM to create a story. I would grab at an opportunity to play in person but I've tried gaming clubs and find I can't get on with the volume of players and noise. Hi! Im a pretty seasoned gamer. Although I'm not exactly "the best" and win everything, I will always try my hardest to have a good time.
