Fabula Ultima

We wanted this system in the library before we had time to write it properly, so consider this entry a placeholder. If you've got hours logged with it, we'd love your help turning this into something worth reading - reach out.

Overview

Fabula Ultima is a tabletop roleplaying game designed by Italian creator Emanuele Galletto and published by Need Games!, released first in Italian and then in an English edition in October 2022. It bills itself as a TTJRPG - a love letter to Japanese console RPGs like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Dragon Quest.  Built by a designer who tried reskinning other systems to capture that feeling and, failing to find one that fit, wrote his own. The game found its audience fast, taking home the Gold ENNIE for Best Game and the Silver ENNIE for Product of the Year in 2023.

Hello hello! I'm Mira, a 20 year old forever GM from Italy. I am a DnD 5e 2014 player with some experience in Fabula Ultima and Vampire: the Masquerade, who is out to make a good story and have a good time! My timeline is GMT+1 (GMT+2 during the summer) and I am usually free on the weekends!

I've been gaming since the early 80s. I suck at bios. I have played a bazillion games, and am willing to learn new systems. I prefer long term campaigns, with  focus on roleplay and character development. I haven't listed all games I've played/own, because there's far too many.

Hello adventurers! I'm in the Burlington/Aldershot area (happy to travel to Hamilton, Oakville or maybe a bit further) looking for an in person game as a player. I've been playing D&D for many years, mostly 5e and always online. I've also dabbled in 4e, Spelljammer, PF2e, Shadowrun, Fabula Ultima and soon Shadow of the Demon Lord. Happy to try new systems as long as they aren't too crunchy (Shadowrun 6e even though a simpler edition was a bit combersome at times). I find I'm a better speaker in person than online, and I'd really like to get back to a real table. My only in person game was a short lived one back in university. We had fun but it was too distracting from studies at the time. I'd love to try that again and hopefully find some cool people to hang out with along the way =) I like variety and improv. It's great when the group has good chemistry and there's a mix of strong character dialogue and out of character banter. I like to have a good time and keep the pace flowing. A bit about me: early 30s, male, working an 8-5 engineering job. I train with a club and I'm already in some long running online campaigns, so my schedule is specific but reliable. I'm usually one of the most consistently present players in my games. Sunday to Tuesday evenings work best right now, and Friday nights should open up in March. If you're also looking in the area, let's keep in touch and maybe something will take shape!

Hi, I'm Marlowe! I've got the itch to play a ttrpg again, and I'd be up to playing something in any of the games I listed. I've played in a fair few D&D 5E games in the past; though it's been a while. I think I'd like to play something with a focus on roleplaying. Tone wise, I think I'd prefer something that errs toward lighthearted rather than grimdark. I'm also fine playing with beginners. I can only really play on Tuesdays or Wedsnesdays due to my job. Might be easier to contact me through Discord: ohnomarlowe  Thank you for reading :D

The problem solver Mini-campaign fan
Hey there! I'm a 10-year rpg veteran and 7-year forever GM. Most of my playing experience is with 2014 5e, but I've really enjoyed branching out into all sorts of other games. I think I'm at 12 systems GM'd these days, though I'd love the chance to play in more. I run games professionally on Start Playing (startplaying.games/gm/jacob), but also just for fun, usually in unusual systems. I'm broadly free on Sunday-to-Wednesday evenings (GMT), but only my Thursday evenings are absolute non-starters. I enjoy a little bit of everything but definitely lean most strongly towards narrative, intrigue, problem-solving stuff. I'm not a fan of DnD's slow, attritional combat but I'd be interested to see if other games (Draw Steel, 13th Age, etc) handle this better. I'm a big fan of pulpy historical fiction like Bernard Cornwell's, as well as the Wheel of Time, Dragon Age, and Star Wars. I alternate between being a DM and being a player, and I'm a pretty simple guy who enjoys very complex and in depth, story-driven games.

Welcome! I'm a giant, obsessed, D&D Nerd, running well over 300 games a year. In short, I play more D&D than is probably healthy. The goal here on the channel is to leverage that obsession, and your own talents, to help one another improve our games of dungeons and dragons, without ALL of us needing to sacrifice a full time job's worth of time on prep and gameplay. If that sounds like a good deal, I'd love to earn your sub! I'd be happy to start by answering ANY D&D question you might have, either in the comments section, on my discord server, or in a dedicated video. Just drop a comment and I'll do my best to help. World of Darkness

English
Universal
World of Darkness is a shared-universe brand of gothic horror tabletop RPGs created by Mark Rein-Hagen and launched by White Wolf Publishing in 1991 with Vampire: The Masquerade, whose rulebook coined the term "Gothic-Punk" to describe the whole project's look and feel. Over the following four years the line expanded into a family of games sharing the same Storyteller System and the same continuity - Werewolf: The Apocalypse (1992), Mage: The Ascension (1993), Wraith: The Oblivion (1994), and Changeling: The Dreaming (1995) - plus historical spin-offs exploring the same monsters in earlier centuries.  That original 13-year continuity closed out in 2004 with a scripted apocalyptic finale, the same year White Wolf launched a rebooted, standalone line on a new streamlined engine, later renamed Chronicles of Darkness in 2015 to keep it distinct from the original. Ownership of the brand has passed from White Wolf (1991-2006) to CCP Games (2006-2015) to Paradox Interactive (2015-present); today Onyx Path Publishing, staffed largely by former White Wolf developers, continues both the classic 20th Anniversary lines and Chronicles of Darkness, while Paradox's modern flagship 5th-edition titles - Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Hunter: The Reckoning - are published mainly through Renegade Game Studios.

At First Sight

High-Fantasy
English
Indie
At First Sight is a role-playing game where most of the action takes place in The Breach, a city founded after a magical cataclysm known as The War. The city is dominated by five great mages whose towers rise around a massive rift of darkness created by the power of The Prophet, who is said to hold the fate of the city in his hands. The strange and esoteric city we live in is divided into five districts, each hosting one of the towers where the great mages reside, and which give their names to the schools of magic that shape its inhabitants. Description The city is in decline, magic is spiraling out of control, bringing plagues and magical monstrosities. The five great mages haven’t been seen for a long time, and people are starting to take the law into their own hands, fighting for control of the city’s various zones. For this reason, many mages are beginning to form small gangs in their hideouts, competing for power and respect while dealing with plagues and monstrosities.  The goal of most of these gangs is to find The Prophet, as whoever discovers him will decide the city's fate. All this while avoiding The Affliction of The Breach, a "disease" caused by prolonged exposure to the massive rift dividing the city. This affliction generates strange memories in the protagonists, driving them mad or robbing them of control over their magic, turning them into new monstrosities wandering the city's streets. At First Sight is a highly narrative game with intense, exaggerated action, where players manage one of these mage gangs struggling to survive in this cursed city known as The Breach.
