Overview

Dungeon Crawl Classics Role Playing Game (DCC RPG or simply DCC) is a role-playing game published by Goodman Games in 2012. The game is famous for its chaotic magic, bizarre dice, and its distinct artwork. DCC RPG is a fast-paced, open-feeling rules set allowing for epic game experiences without unnecessary tethers. It uses modern game-play while paying homage to the origins of role-playing and the fun that it inspired. While it is an ongoing argument, DCC can be considered an
OSR https://groupfinder.eu/library/old-school-renaissance-osr-2000
game. The system it directly evolved from is
Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition (2000)
. Description You’re no hero. You’re an adventurer: a reaver, a cutpurse, a heathen-slayer, a tight-lipped warlock guarding long-dead secrets. You seek gold and glory, winning it with sword and spell, caked in the blood and filth of the weak, the dark, the demons, and the vanquished. There are treasures to be won deep underneath, and you shall have them. System Overview & Key Features
The Level Zero Funnel Instead of carefully crafting a single hero, each player generates three or four completely random level zero peasants. You run this mob through a deadly introductory dungeon. The few survivors who manage to escape earn their first class level and become your actual player characters.
The Dice Chain The game uses a set of unusual dice alongside the standard setup. These include a d3, d5, d7, d14, d16, d24, and d30. Instead of applying static mathematical penalties or bonuses, the Game Master might simply tell you to roll the next die up or down on the chain.
Mighty Deeds of Arms Warriors and Dwarves do not have rigid skill trees or complex combat feats. Before any attack, they can declare a heroic maneuver, like blinding an enemy or sweeping their legs. They roll a Deed Die alongside their attack, and if the die rolls high enough, the maneuver succeeds dynamically.
Roll to Cast Magic Magic is incredibly powerful but highly unpredictable. Wizards and Clerics must roll a spell check every time they cast. A high roll creates a massive, reality altering effect, while a low roll causes the spell to fail and potentially slip from the caster's mind for the rest of the day.

[Online] [DCC] [time and date flexible] The Road T

I’m looking for players for a Dungeon Crawl Classics campaign called The Road Tithe. This is an 8-session dark fantasy campaign about a missing shipment, a buried conspiracy, a hidden underground city, and a race to stop a second genocide before thousands of people are wiped out. The campaign starts with a straightforward road escort job between Thornwall and Greyfen. Then the ground opens beneath you. Half the party is taken below the road into *, a secret civilization descended from people the crown tried to * 150 years ago. The other half is left on the surface with a * wagon, scattered clues, and the growing realization that the * are part of something much larger. Both sides investigate from above and below until the truth comes into focus: *, a plan to * and erase the * good. What to expect: System: Dungeon Crawl Classics Platform: * Voice: * Length: 8 sessions, around 3 hours each Tone: dark fantasy, tense, grounded, human Open seats: 5 VTT approach: mods that add flavor and fun, not unnecessary complexity My DM style breaks down roughly like this: Combat: 25% Achievements/progression: 20% Character development: 15% Plot: 15% Tactics: 10% Social puzzles: 10% Technology learning curve: 5% This game is a good fit if you enjoy investigation, meaningful choices, tactical combat, character growth, and a serious story with room for desperate heroics. A note on structure: the party does split early, but that’s intentional and central to the campaign. Both groups stay active, both matter, and both uncover different pieces of the truth. Looking for players who: Can show up consistently Enjoy engaging with the world and the other PCs Are good with a more serious story Want a flavorful DCC game without extra mechanical bloat If you’re interested, send me: Name/pronouns TTRPG experience What kind of character you enjoy playing What caught your interest about this campaign

I run an online D&D game atm, but would like to play in person, maybe something not d&d. I've played tons of RPGs over the years, and introduced my wife to the hobby, would like to play different sorts of games with different groups and styles just to do something different.

I love RPGs, exploration and adventure most of all. Combat and Roleplay are well and great but I want to explore and discover wonders and lost treasures. Think classic Sword & Sorcery over Tolkienesque fantasy. Though still a big tolkien fan

Hello fellow RPG gamers, I'm Mark! I started playing D&D back in the 80's, Holmes Basic (bluebox), then AD&D (1e). Eventually drifted in and out of the hobby, but have been playing almost weekly since 2014. Played a few systems over the years, D&D most of all. I usually DM/GM, but also enjoy rolling up a character and adventuring. I love all aspects of RPGs; combat, exploration, problem solving, group synergy, social interactions, etc. For me, RPGs are as much about the people as the plot. I’m a social DM/GM and player who values gaming friends rather than just running through mechanics. My sessions strike a balance between a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and high-stakes drama when the story demands it. I also like character-driven narratives weaved into the campaign. This can come from backstories, or more importantly, from the ongoing story developed through the game. Over the last 10+ years I've mostly ran/played some great D&D5e games, but would like to focus on other games. Recently I've been into OSR games with some modern mechanics; like Dungeon Crawl Classics, Shawdowdark, Dragonbane, and a few others.
