How now and well met! My name is Rando, and I have been playing TTRPGs for a very, very, very, long time. Finding myself now with an almost completely open schedule, I am compelled to fill up all this free time playing in campaigns. TTRPG campaigns. More and more campaigns... ALL the campaigns! Whether it is a newly created spot or just subbing in -- new character, fill-in character, NPC, former player's character: I will join your table with glee and vigor. (note: vigor is extra) I enjoy all three pillars of TTRPGS (combat, roleplay, exploration) and appreciate when there is a healthy balance among them. I am partial to roleplaying, however, as I feel it is the one element you cannot find in other gaming formats. In the TTRPG Rock, Paper, Scissors game that takes place in the deep and cloistered recesses of my mind: ROC > RAI > RAW. I am open to learning and trying new systems. I am a very easy-going and jocular sort, prone to tomfoolery betimes, but know full well when to wear the frowny mask versus the smiley one. A former teacher, I am very newbie friendly (to both players and GMs), and am gooder than most with the word use-ing for to tell things and show other things and for the explaining. Hiya, I go by Fenris or Fen and am a TTRPG veteran of roundabout 26 years, having started in my early teens and been the forever GM for a number of years, before moving on to become a player. I recently finished a PF2E campaign with an international group and am looking forward to move on to new horizons more set in a bright and exciting future. I am flexible regarding the day, being available for evening session from 18:00 to 18:30 my time onwards during Mondays to Fridays and basically fully flexible when it comes to the weekends. Also let me be very frank because I keep getting messages about this: I AM NOT INTERESTED IN D&D! Playstyle I am a person who both enjoys engaging roleplaying, interactions between the characters and with the world at large. To me a good game has a healthy mix of both and ideally also mixes them. So I want to roll the dice when appropriate, but I'm a bit tired of hearing 'I roll to attack' and a simple 'you hit'. Why not make it 'I bring my sword to bear against the owlbear, parry it's right claw swiping for me while side-stepping and try to cut it across it's leg in retaliation'? This gives the GM much more to play without without having to wrack their brain how to make it an exciting moment for everyone. Same goes for RP: You can try to hide the need to roll something to see, whether you succeed or not, by describing it creatively. I could say 'I want to roll Diplomacy to convince the lizardman warrior, that we come in peace' or I could say 'Putting on an open, peaceful body language, showing he is not armed, <character name> speaks clearly and softly in a diplomatic tone "We mean no harm. Just want to talk."' To me RP and rules are not two separate sides of a medallion - they can work beautifully hand in hand to weave a story within a fair ruleset, that gives everyone equal chances. Hence I also play the character idea and role within the party. I don't min-max, I work to represent the character idea both in RP and in the build. What's the character idea of a stoic and stalwart defender worth, if it isn't backed up by a build optimized towards taking the brunt of the enemies attacks? How can I play a hot-shot pilot, if his confident and assured stance isn't backed up by great skill with piloting and tendancy towards pulling stunts and a few aces up his sleeves? Experience I've started out with one of the more complex games to play 26 years ago: Shadowrun. Very crunchy, figuring out rolls was an effort and more often than not forgoing too complex rules for the rule of cool. From there I moved on to a myriad of systems - both mainstream and not. To name a few: Legend of the Five Rings, King Arthur Pendragon, D&D 5E (2014), Stafinder 1E, Stars Without Number, Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40K FFG (Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader and Only War), Star Wars Edge of the Empire, The Dark Eye (DSA), A Song of Ice and Fire RPG, Pathfinder 2E and a quick dip into Fallout 2d20, as well as maybe some I can't even remember from the get-go right now. I've been on both sides of the table in those years, being both a GM and a player on- and offline. But I moved on from GMing for the most part, as I just don't have the capacity for additional responsibility in my life right now, besides showing up in time and having a good time with some fellow enjoyers of cooperative rules-based storytelling ;) Bio Let's start with the basic facts: 39 years old male (he/him) from Germany. Hey! It's been a long time since I've played D&D and I'm looking to get back into it with a group who is laid back and doesn't mind someone with a partial grasp of the (5e) ruleset. I'm interested in a longer campaign, starting at or close to level 1, to be able to grow through. I'm looking to find some great world building set in more of the medieval/high fantasy setting, though am not opposed to other aspects being interwoven. I just love swords, shields, magic, and monsters. I have a character that I'm really looking to have come to live at a virtual table, though I'm not opposed to modifying that if it were needed. Unfortunately, I have limited availability due to work, family, and other responsibilities/activities, but am looking to commit to weekly/bi-weekly games or whatever else might work. Hopefully with individuals who are understanding and accepting of aforementioned responsibilities. My ideal time to play would be Wednesdays when I finish work around 8:30pm (EST) or later. I've been rolling dice since the days of Neverwinter Nights persistent worlds, where the game was mostly text-based and the roleplay was the whole point. From there I found my way into 3.5, Pathfinder, and eventually 5e, where I've run several year-long campaigns to completion as DM. These days I'm looking to get back on the player side of the screen and explore some new systems. I'm a roleplay centric player but I love a good tractical combat, especially if the system supports cinematic moments within it. iv done tabletop with friends before and always was the GM. i even tried to run my own textbased game but could never keep those alive, people eventually just stopped responding even after multiple reminders its their turn in combat. so im looking to be a player this time instead. im fine with both roll20 and discord text play or a öove gameplay deal over roll 20 or similar sites. the three characters i can for DND offer are: -a kobold demolitionist (comic relief obsessed with explosives. this guy would use a more explosives focused subclass for artificer i found on reddit if thats ok with your game) -a tribal tabaxi guy with spear who moves fast and haresses enemies in melee (this character is very cruel and would be only suited to serious games) -a harengon geomancer (this guy would only use earth and stone themed spells and im partial to reflavoring existing spells as earth ones) for other settings i usually have one character per setting. NOTE: im not interested in character creation involving rolled stats i dont like rng deciding my stats i prefer pointbuy.

Hello everyone! my name is Blair, and I am a player looking for more games to play! my schedule just recently opened up, and i need to roll dice and tell some stories! a bit about me: a bulk of my TTRPG experience comes from playing 2014, but i do have experience playing other systems as well, such as Candela Obscura, Daggerheart, Pathfinder, and I've even played a homebrew version of DND. when it comes to me as a player, i do tend to play spellcasters, it just intrigues me a lot more than the martial classes, and when I do play martial classes, i always give them limited magic. I'm also a pretty respectful tablemate, i try to give my fellow players a chance to get involved. along with that, I do engage in romance, both PC and NPC, just depends on whether or not the table is down with that! oh, speaking of romance, i am Queer and trans! with the world that we exist in, I find that it is better for my table to know that upfront than learn that not only am I not cis but also, I like both boys and girls, it's just a fact of life. with that you must be a Queer and trans friendly table as well as a disabled friendly table since I am disabled as well! now to move onto a gm I would prefer: typically, how I'd parse out a potential good GM for me to play under, is I'd do a one-shot with them and see if we're a good fit, and if we can have good conversation, but considering the nature of a post like this, I am willing to forego that! that being said, you still need to have the following: be America-based and even more specifically be CST-based- since I am based in North America, I just can't do uber late games. it's not good for my mental health, and it causes me to be a terrible person for responding to DMs. RP skills - this doesn't mean that you shouldn't at least try to incorporate combat in your sessions but i need those RP skills sharpened to the max! homebrew vs. Module - I am willing to play a module but i would prefer a homebrew world. it shows that you are more than willing to be flexible with your players' stories and want to share that creativity with the world at large. recording vs basic home game - I am very okay and do consent to a recorded game, considering i have been in a few actual plays! that, however, does not mean that i will turn my nose up at a basic home game, in fact that is one of my favorites!

I make serious characters and I rp with conviction! My backstories aren’t always tragic and I allow the dm lots of freedom with my characters story. I try to direct us to the story and I don’t split the party haha i have also bought a lot of books from the dnd beyond marketplace and i can share these items with the group! this means that both the players and the dm have access to a lot of content, be it races or magic items. I started learning about dnd 5e in 2021, so I'm aware of the most basic rules, but I haven't had the chance to play in person. My favourite game is Baldur's Gate 3, and while it's based on dnd rules, it doesn't fulfill the desire to play with a community for me as I've played solo.

Hello all, I am an experienced GM that have been running and playing many types of ttrpgs since the early 80's. I have been running games online for sometime now and am comfortable using several VTTs as well as Discord. I prefer to GM over being a player and have ran a variety of ttrpg systems on- and off- line. When it comes to gaiming, I can be relied on to make the schedule regularly, barring health and some holidays. While I love all sorts of gaming styles, my preferred gaming includes a mix of strong roleplaying and combat. I really enjoy getting into character and experiencing others do the same. I live in the Pacific Time Zone and usually am avaliable during the week for gaming at 4pm or later, Sundays is special as I have a more open schedule from 8 am to midnight. Hello! I’m a player based in the US Central time zone, looking to join an online Pathfinder 2e game, ideally using FoundryVTT. Most of my TTRPG experience is with D&D 5e. I’ve been playing and DMing since 2020 and have played through three long campaigns. I’m newer to PF2e, but I’m very interested in learning the system properly and getting more hands-on experience with both Pathfinder 2e and Foundry. I’ve started writing my own setting intended for PF2e, but after running a combat test with some friends, I realized I need more practical experience as a player before I try to seriously run the system myself. I’m happy to learn the mechanics, ask questions when needed, and take feedback. As a player, I enjoy a mix of roleplay, exploration, and tactical combat. I like character-driven games where the party has reasons to work together, but I also enjoy engaging combat where choices matter. I’m not looking to powergame or rules-lawyer the table, but I do enjoy learning how a system works and improving over time. Logistically, I’m currently out of work, so my schedule is fairly open right now. If I get a job, I should still have weekends available. My time zone is CST/CDT, so games that work for US evening or weekend times are the best fit. I’m mainly looking for a free online game. A longer campaign would be ideal, but I’d also be happy to join a shorter adventure, beginner-friendly game, or PF2e learning campaign to get more experience. I am 47 male that didn't start playing D&D until 11 years ago. I have played and DMed 3.5. also played SW5E, SW Edge of Empire and Transformers RPG. I enjoy a game that is heavy RP balanced with combat, problem solving, political intrigue, travel, survival or whatever aspects the GM wants to put our merry band up against. I'm in your world now. Play Style: I'm serious about having fun. I'm low maintenance and I fit well into most groups that aren't all about fart jokes.. I'm a stickler about showing up on time to every session. I put a good effort into making my characters fun for the other players as well as the GM. I'm not much of a min/maxer. I don't know the powerful builds as I tend to add to my characters in a manner consistent with their back story. I write modest back stories and try to include multiple hooks that the GM might choose to use somewhere along the road. I prefer to see a good story or interesting outcome rather than fuss over rules. I tend to get in character and stay in character for an entire session. I'm not adverse to long sessions, provided we have appropriate intermissions. Experience: I haven't played for two or three years, so I'll need a bit of help getting back up to speed. I know nothing about 5e 2024 rule changes. I'm generally a quick study and willing to learn anything new. I'd prefer a DnD 5e 2014 game, but would be willing to learn 2024 and I do have some experience with PF2e. I'd also be interested in playing Starfinder 2e as a completely new player. I have GMed homebrews in 5e on several occasions, but my first choice is to participate as a member of the party. I prefer Foundry VTT, but I have participated in past games using Roll20 and DndBeyond. I have fairly in depth knowlege of the inner workings of FVTTv12/13. I've played for a total of about 1 1/2 years, with 2 oneshots, a short campaign, and am playing a long-term campaign that's recently passed its 1 year anniversary, which has gone from level 1 to currently level 11 and I've loved every minute of it. I have played in Roll20 with voice chat being on Discord and sheets on DnDBeyond or occasionally Roll20. I've also had a little bit of Foundry experience from a Cyberpunk Red campaign that didn't last very long. I'm looking for a group to play a long-term homebrew-friendly game with a healthy amount of roleplay, isn't low-magic, and isn't an aimless sandbox. I've not had the chance to be in a campaign that provides individual character arcs, however I'm very interested in finding that unicorn and giving it a try! Been part of a Candela Obscura table for about 2 years every other Tuesday. Love that so much got a tattoo of it. Tried to branch out to roll 20 discord voice for a few months, got enjoyment out of it but i started to feel pressured to 'perform'. I also hated how an entire session could be filled up with just combat. While combat is fun, if it is number crunchy and too long it just feels like a waste of time. I'm a rp and lore junky. I loved the characters and story of my campaigns, did not care or know really how to make a super powerful and dps build. Which tells me while I prefer combat to be more rp prone. I'm a 34 year old mailman and husband and father, so time is very tight. I will post at least 5 posts a day. Depending on the workload and how high maintenance the family is, and if I find the pbp compelling, I might do a lot more. I hope so. That's why I ultimately ended up bowing out of the dnd. So my next stepping stone in my ttrpg journey is to find a pbp that posts normally that focuses on rp and story. While I appreciate the chaos and uncertainty of the dice it shouldn't be at the deterrent of player creativity, or fun, or rule of cool. But that's just me. I can learn any system or setting, I'm a smart dude. I value the people and the pc and the story over all. Also, I'm from Kansas. In the US. Normal sleep schedule. So CDT is where I'm at. That has been an issue before. I've never done paid pbp before but if the quality of the campaign, and set up, and pace is good enough I have no issue helping with a few dollars to the gm

I only ever played it with my family a hand full of times. However, I knew that type of game called to me always. I am mostly playing video games than Board games sadly these days. I am trying to get back into Board games more than video games however. I have very poor social skills and don't pick up on social cues very well and board games especially ones that forces people to interact for a common goal really help me. I also have PTSD and some other mental disabilities. I try to not let these hinder me but they do sadly. Very sorry for this. I am flexible when it comes to board games. Currently with my work schedule I can only guarantee availability on sundays at the moment. I'm US EST (GMT-5) and available pretty much anytime from about 7am to 11pm my time. I love dming and also being a player and I'm open to either. I also really love the idea of alternating either every other week, maybe once a month doing the other, etc as I did this when I first tried D&D and loved it. I like a mix of rp and combat ideally around a 60/40 split. I would like to have a setting that can be serious and have some amazing stories but also have some fun lighthearted times mixed in too. I do have a couple characters planned based on the setting of the campaign and the rest of the group and as far as being a DM I have some rough ideas I've been working on but would flesh out more to fit the characters and players. I'd prefer 5e as that's what I'm familiar with although could be open to other systems. The main thing I'm hoping for is ultimately people that can be fun to hang out with and have a good time, but can also be adults about making sure to be on time or communicate ahead of time if stuff comes up as my last group was often very unreliable in this department. It’s a harsh, often hypocritical kind of justice — one rooted in vengeance. To Silas, those who take lives deserve to suffer, for a life taken is forfeiting your own. It’s a worldview riddled with flaws, but he believes it’s a necessary evil to protect the innocent. It’s all shaped by a single tragedy; Jodie." Silas has his own mind palace where he visualises his evidence. He's cold and calculated and leaves little room for error. However, his mind is fragile, and struggles to keep going unless given a purpose. That purpose is hunting down Jodie's killer. He has a background in the NCPD where he learned to be covert and track people down. He has a few acquaintances, such as Zoey, a stylist who doesn't know much about Silas' life but cares deeply for him; and Sidnor, a cop who worked as a newbie under Silas during his time on the force, keeping his identity a secret, even though he doesn't want too. Hi there! I'm Frau Elster, 33, located in Hanover, Germany. I have been playing TTRPGs for roughly a year now. It became quite an hyperfixation and thanks to a local open club I've gotten the chance to test some systems and get an idea of what I enjoy in this game. Ideally, of course, the group vibes and gets along. That's a wish of mine but of course can't be forced. I tend to enjoy smaller groups up to 4, sometimes 5, on a bi-weekly schedule in the evening. I love creating complex characters with a few defining moments already having happened to them to help flesh them out. It didn't happen yet but I'd love to experience what it's like to have a ongoing campaign that weaves in the characters' backgrounds. Usually I have a concept in mind before I create a character and then read through _a lot_ of materials and sources to find the build and world-related backgrounds that fit. For example: I am in the midst of creating a tabaxi stardruid whose base idea was that she looks like a black jaguar and has the constellations map right there in the spots of her fur. Or I knew I wanted a gnome raised by ice giants who draws her magic from the aurora and can hit really hard and now I have several tabs open haha I enjoy good atmospheric horror and am actually thinking about hosting The Magnus Archive TTRPG. But that's a project for the future. Coming from a theatre background I love roleplay and the chaotic rule of cool being applied more than dungeon crawling, rule crunching and min/max-ing. Social encounters and exploration are big to me. Do you know that one friend who needs to check every question mark in a video game? Yeah that's me (and is also a reason why I love Breath of the Wild. Exploring was very much rewarded in this game.) As a GM I love putting in puzzles but that is always a hit or miss with me as a player. In general I would say I am a bit of a chaotic player who enjoys discussing and brainstorming with the others.

Hello, I'm Marc, 30 years old, and I've been playing DnD for a few months now, both with an IRL friend group and through Baldur's Gate 3, which I understood to be good introduction to most basic mechanics of the TTRPG, though I think it does not do much to encourage consistency in roleplay aspects. I've also played other CRPGs in the past (Solasta, WH40K Rogue Trader). I'm looking for a weekly group on workdays evenings, except on tuesdays. As for playstyle, I tend to keep notes and map out dungeons while playing, so I tend to let others initally react to scenes, then step in, so maybe more reactive than proactive, except in situations when we get stuck on low-importance issues. Thus, I'm mostly leaning towards playing level-headed characters so far, though I may attempt to go out of my comfort zone in future games (not in the close future though). I value having options as a party, so i'll try playing characters that add to these options.I tend to prefer exploration and combat to pure roleplay scenes, but I don't mind attempting a more roleplay-heavy campaign

I would prefer to play with a more mature group but have had a lot of fun with younger players as well. I would prefer a later start time (7 - 8pm PST) as I have kids but can be flexible depending on the day. About me as a player: I like heavy RP and plot games where there is a metaplot where a group of Heroes (or villains, but I much prefer playing a good-aligned character) change the world or do something important, that feels meaningful. I like GMs that respect players in and out of character, and that know when to say no and when to say yes to cool stunts and feats. I like when my character's backstory is implemented, and I will give hooks for the GM to use. I try to engage in conversation with other players in and out of character; I try to make my GM's life as easy as possible with a team player/encouraging leader type of characters. I like deep bonds in and out of character, with NPCs and PCs and players and the GM alike. I am punctual and I will always let the GM know in advance if I can't arrive or if something happens. For paid games: I don't do SPG, and I heavily prefer monthly payment through PayPal. My budget is 60-100$ monthly for a *weekly* game preferably, paid at the beginning of each month (after I get my own payment from my own career). I also enjoy making friends and being in open communication with players and the GM alike. After all, I prefer paying someone whom I care about and cares about me and about me having a good time. What I'm not looking for: Modules, lack of commitment, and insensitive behavior in games and out of games.
