Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
Welcome. This is a playtest for Lost Mine of Phandelver. If your application is accepted you will be a part of the first group to set the baseline for this world from start to finish. Help me polish this adventure and your characters may just be immortalized in some way. Expectations: - 4 or 5 players - Starting at level 4, playing from levels 4-9 (its normally designed for 1-5) - Aiming for Monday Sept 14th with an optional 'Session Zero' Monday Sept 7th if applications fill fast - 1 Free roll of stats, 4d6 drop the lowest, otherwise pointbuy (Please declare it in Roll20 chat) - Vanilla Forgotten Realms Dnd (mostly using rules from 5.5e, 5e classes and the like are allowed) - Open to a 5e rules playthrough, applications will determine. - Focus on questing and combat (think Tactician level difficulty) - Aiming for 20 sessions (with distant options to get into DoIP or ToA. Shattered Obelisk was considered but not my style) - For character backstories you will be assigned secrets (as seen in the adventure IDRotFM) but I am flexible here. - Downtime, IC conversations, shopping, etc will be encouraged over discord and less in game. - Possible monster card game if I have time. (Defeat a monster, gain their card, cards can lvl up, play NPCs for keeps, etc.) No players under 18 No homebrew or Unearthed Arcana. No primarily evil characters at the start (may revisit this as the campaign progresses) Most books are allowed (list in discord) If you have a question about some popular combos (shepherd druid, coffeelock, conjure woodland beings, etc) I am flexible If you have a question about some item combos (bag of beans, equipping a familiar, illusionist bracers, etc) feel free to ask Write Gygax in your application so I can see you read this. Some brief homebrew rules (not the full list): - Level ups by milestones - Flanking, but only for Rogues - Anyone can grapple on an op attack, including enemies - Rest casting ok, but incurs 1 lvl of special exhaustion that cant be mitigated till next longrest - Cant benefit from a full rest in armor (unless Warforged or Autognome, etc) - 2 of the 8hrs rest can be done awake, however, staying awake in camp requires Con check - Starting gold may be rolled once in Roll20 chat. - Inspiration has ways of being earned (see discord) - Write the name 'Greenwood' in your application for free inspiration. - You may sell unneeded items at half price but need to wait till in game to buy stuff, initially. - Death saves are rolled in private (But, characters 5ft away can make a free medicine check [DC 12]) - Characters preforming help action requires proficiency for the respective ability check. - We will try not to dogpile skill checks, but I may ask multiple characters for the same check - Druids can equip metal - Using surprised condition from 2024 - Orc NPCs are evil bc Grummsh said so, Halforcs can be any alignment (players can still play anything with any alignment) - S, M component discrepancy mostly ignored if you have a spell focus. V components can be no quieter than a 'chant' About me: -Around 2000hrs experience, with limited one-shot GMing -Completed LMoP, SO, ToA, OOtA, DoIP, WDH -Heavily played in SKT, Planescape, IDRotFM, DragonLance, Scarlet Citadel, BG3 800hrs+

Ravenloft Adventure Playtest

Playtest
The game is still being tested, and your feedback is part of the point.
I need a few brave souls to help playtest an adventure I'm writing for the DMsGuild. You'll get a copy of the PDF when I release it and your name in the adventure. Individual sessions shouldn't take more than 3-4 hours and all I ask is for a short paragraph of feedback after every session. This would just be a playthrough of the one adventure. No more than 3-5 sessions.

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hello there! My name is Kai and I'm looking for a few more players for a DnD 2024 + Homebrew campaign in my own world! Currently we have 3 players, but 5-6 would be nice :) Now onto the good stuff. Step into the crooked lanes of wonder and the candlelit halls of old—my homebrew Dungeons & Dragons campaign is calling for new adventurers. We run off DnD 5.5E (2024) with several carefully woven homebrew elements, and characters can be built from a selection of humanoid and Fae races. The world is steeped in Irish Gaelic folklore and spun together with medieval fantasy, where sidhe whispers and half-remembered legends turn every road into a riddle. Our pre-existing group’s vibe leans more toward exploration and puzzles than combat, though the dangers you’d expect—traps, threats, and the occasional hard encounter—are very much on the table. If you love discovery, clever problem-solving, and stories that feel like they were pulled from an ancient hearth—come join us! I will be checking in on Groupfinder every few days, but the fastest way to reach me is through discord! :)

The Crown of Winter - a short 4 player campaign

Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
No paid games
On a player profile - you are looking for free games and are not interested in paid ones.
Want to play something longer than a one-shot, but without committing months or even years to a long-term campaign? Do you want some experience playing characters past the beginning of their story, taking on more varied foes? Or maybe you're just here for an action-packed, high fantasy adventure? If so, you've come to the right place! Details: I’m looking for 4 players for my 5.5e mini campaign. Although anyone is welcome, some experience is recommended—I want to run a game for higher levels than I’m used to at a mid-high level of optimization. But as long as you’re friendly, respectful to other players, and (reasonably) punctual, I’d be happy to have you!  Sessions will be ~3 hours, run on Discord VC, and use AboveVTT for maps, no paid resources required. In terms of scheduling, I’m tentatively planning Wednesdays at 10:00 JST. The first session will be no later than June 17th, and ideally, you'll be able to get to know your party members and coordinate before then. Characters will be level 8, use point buy or standard array, and the game's style will be almost completely RAW, without homebrew except for minor monster tweaks for the setting. Any mundane gear or costly components will be free, so feel free to make whatever build you'd like to test against the 2024 XP budgets! Although there will be no explicit content, the game is limited to players aged 18+. If there's content you're uncomfortable with, please let me know as well.  Feel free to ask me any questions about the game itself, your expectations, or anything at all! You can find me on Discord (jaegermeister2132). Ideally, we can sort out anything you want to know and potentially have a short call to test things out. To start, introduce yourself, what you're looking for in the game, and tell me a bit about your experience with D&D! (IMPORTANT NOTE: My timezone is JST, it wasn't an option here! This means for most timezones I might be a day ahead, and the Wednesday slot may be closer to a Tuesday night one) Synopsis: As the frigid kingdom of Hinterreich mourns the death of its king, chaos grips its people. The nation in mourning was ill-prepared for the dragon’s attack—when the dust settled, the late monarch’s sole heir and the legendary crown were missing. Adventurers, mercenaries, and anyone with the courage to venture into the dragon’s lair and retrieve both the princess and the artifact are to be rewarded handsomely.
