Description
Hello! My name is Jay, and I am an 18y/o student looking for DMs/GMs running new one-shots/full campaigns who might have me as a player at their (online or in-person) table! I have been interested in and reading up on D&D (specifically 5E and 5.5E) for about two-and-a-half years now, but have never been able to play an actual game with a group, so I am a beginner. But, I am also a fast-learner who can pick up on your playing style (and homebrew rules/mechanics, if you're using any) quickly.
I can play in both online campaigns and at IRL tables (I am located in the southern Bay Area, CA, near Gilroy). My schedule, both online and in-person, is extremely flexible, and I am willing to play during odd hours when playing in online campaigns (for example, early morning or the middle of the night), and I am totally down with online international games with players/DMs/GMs located in different countries/continents. I can use and adapt to whatever platform the DM/GM prefers to use to host games. I love detailed note-taking and would love to take on that responsibility at your table.
My favorite main class to play is Paladin (I have a male, Lawful-Good archetype, Oath of Devotion Paladin who I have been dying to roleplay as in a game, but I also have a few other characters/character ideas and am totally willing to change his lore/character for the theme of your campaign or create a whole new one for it). I am both roleplay and combat oriented and will be entirely happy focusing more on the worldbuilding/RP or grinding with your table in more dungeon-crawler-like gameplay. However, I do prefer games with a balance of both.
Some of my all-time favorite high fantasy medias are (video games:) The Elder Scross series (particularly Skyrim, but my second and third favorites are Morrowind and Oblivion, including its remaster), Elden Ring, Dark Souls I, II, & III, Baldur's Gate I, II, and III, (books/movies:) The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings, and The Legend of Drizzt (I am on book two of The Icewind Dale trilogy and have read The Dark Elf trilogy). I write a lot of fantasy-based stories in my spare time, and have been honing in my storytelling skills for a handful of years now. I love knights and medieval-based fantasy, but easily fall in love with all sorts of stories and worlds. I love both light and fun RP and the dark, gritty stuff.
I get along with a variety of players/people and am eager to make friends in the D&D community/possibly find a campaign/one-shot to play in. I hope you consider me for your table!
