Tomb of annihalation

This is a tomb of annihalation campaign that is being run by me. I am a 42 yo semi new dm who has ran curse of strahd, out of the abyss, and currently running 2 seperate odyssey of the dragon lords campaigns. I am by no means a professional, and some downtime for me to learn some rules or make decisions is to be expected. I cannot say I prepare for every particular scenario so sometimes I wing it, but I try my best to give players an enjoyable time. I do not tolerate table hogs, people who talk over others, or are intolerant of other people. I do not charge as I am again not a professional in terms of understanding all spells, all game mechanics, etc. this is a campaign using extra modules to help facilitate some aspects of the game to try and streamline some processes. I have not started the campaign and am not 100% sure of the date of a session zero until I have a group of people I may find mesh well in order to make the game more enhoyable so if you message me, please be patient and understand that. I plan on a total group of roughly 5 players. 1 spot has already been claimed by a player from one of my other campaigns.  Game is played on foundry using discord, I do not use cam, and sessions are recorded but not posted online for other viewing, it is strictly for creating recaps and in case anyone missed anything.

DND 5e 2014 rules - Roll 20 - Free

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
I need 3 more players for a DND Im going to run on Sundays at 8:30pm (NZDT or GMT+13) The game will be set in my own homebrew world. We will be using 5e 2014 rules with some optional house rules. I will be using roll 20 for maps, and Discord for voice (i have a private server). My world is set on a different plane of existence parallel to the mortal plane, all sentient inhabitants are anthropomorphic humanoids each based on a different creature. I have my own pantheon and world history, each race has its own lore. There are some things still to be balanced so don't expect perfection. The campaign will be from level 1-5ish but can continue into a long term game if people are happy to. ----------Please no things like trying to bang every NPC you meet and murder hobo's.---------- About me: I will not pull my punches in combat or in consequences for your actions. I will play each NPC and monster to what it is designed to be. Example - if an assassin is targeting your party and you go down he will attack your unconscious body and finish you off. Example 2 - You are rude or offend a noble or royalty, they will seek to punish you sometimes immediately sometimes subtly it depends. Example 3 - You try to rip of a merchant or shopkeeper, they will then warn others of your actions and purposefully raise their prices or refuse service to you until recompense is made. What i expect: Just be respectful to other players and respect the DM's ruling. Be kind lets have fun. Try to keep the swearing down if possible. Try to share the limelight and include others.

Another Story: Fragmented Memories

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
This story takes place in the pseudo-theocratic nation of Tenkaisei, the Land of Star and Stone, where the guidance of the heavens directly influences daily life. The ruler, known simply as the Dawn Empress, serves as both political sovereign and divine intermediary, believed to be chosen by celestial forces to maintain harmony between the heavens and the earth. Her rule is guided by the Heavenspiral, six divine pillars whose domains govern the fundamental principles of existence. Their influence reaches beyond religious practice, shaping the nation's laws, traditions, and understanding of the natural order. As a result, Tenkaisei is not strictly a political power, but a spiritual epicenter where faith and governance are inseparably intertwined. Beneath this carefully maintained order, the nation is far from united. Tenkaisei stands equally divided between the Impyreal Sovereignty, which upholds the Dawn Empress and the divine right of celestial authority, and the Stormlord Territory, whose legacy favors strength earned through action rather than bestowed through birthright. Their ideological divide has fostered generations of tension, leaving the nation vulnerable to conflict and uncertainty. Although both sides claim to understand what is necessary for Tenkaisei's future, neither can afford to ignore the fragile balance that holds the realm together. That balance is now beginning to falter. Across the nation, the shrines dedicated to the Heavenspiral are experiencing disturbances that threaten their ancient purpose. These sanctuaries are more than places of worship; they serve as vital connections between the celestial powers and the mortal world, preserving the influence of the divine within Tenkaisei. As their protections weaken, the consequences begin to reach beyond temple grounds, manifesting in spiritual unrest, unnatural phenomena, and disruptions to the natural order. What once seemed like isolated misfortunes increasingly suggests a greater crisis. One that threatens the foundations of the nation's faith and the stability it has long taken for granted. The party has been drawn into this unfolding crisis, traveling between sacred sites to investigate the disturbances and restore what has been lost. Each shrine presents its own trials, reflecting the divine principle it was built to uphold. The party must contend with ancient traditions, conflicting interpretations of the divine, and the consequences of a world whose safeguards are no longer dependable. With every discovery, the importance of the shrines becomes clear. In a nation where the heavens are believed to guide mortal affairs, the weakening of their shrines raises a troubling question: if the divine order can no longer protect the world as it once did, what will become of the people who have built their lives around its guidance?

The Campaign Sulia, a medieval fantasy world full of whimsy is on verge of an ancient threat that has fallen from history, time wiping out all knowledge. (I don't want to give away too much) but high fantasy, high stakes.  Whislt the world is homebrew and so is the main story, we will be visiting official modules for fun, the golden vault, frozen sick. I still need to run a beach episode. Pls help me fulfil that dream. Addition Notes: The homebrew world is the same world where we also host spell jammer, its set in the future with Cyber Punk vibes. So we may additionally jump into this if you're interested.

5e Fantasy Post-Plague France

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hello! I am seeking online players for a short homebrew campaign I am starting from scratch. I have DM'd 5e for ~3 years, Fabula Ultima for 2 years, and GM'd a few Pathfinder 2e sessions. As a player I've played various TTRPGs on and off over the past 12 years or so. If you are interested, please comment below AFTER reading the requirements and setting info. System: 5e, I am open to 5.5e content but do not have the books. If you would like something from 5.5e just share it with me for approval. Requirements: 4-5 players, age requirement 25+, familiarity with the system is encouraged but enthusiasm can compensate. LGBTQ+ friendly, of course. Platform: Foundry Expected Availability: Bi-Monthly Friday  Tone: Dark Adventure with room for comedy. See Setting Inspirations Setting: Fantasy Europe What to Expect: A land in disarray, dangerous travel, competitive factions Setting Information: The Black Plague has just scythed its way through the populace, and social upheaval has swept through in its wake. Desperate for workers, local lords have relaxed rules on commoner travel and trade. As a result, those with skills have abandoned withering farms, abusive lords, and the odd demonic assault to seek out work. Some wish only to survive, others seek passage into the burgeoning merchant class, and others still wish to upend the entire plague-rotted system. Setting Inspirations: Between to Fires, The Devils, elements of history Setup: Travelers (PCs) roll into the plague-ravaged town of Dinan in search of work. Through coordination or happenstance or some combination they stumble across a lucrative opportunity: the local church desperately needs the recently recovered skull of Saint Malo, a sacred relic held at a nearby cathedral. Demon-infested wilderness, church political maneuvering, and the shifting landscape of a ravaged land await the party. Do you seek fortune? Or power? Or simply survival? At the end of the day, you're lucky if all you have is your life.

Cos and beyond

I’m the DM for our Sunday night group. Our group recently lost one of our players. We are looking for a replacement who will fit into the table. Current campaign is CoS. We’re about half way through. The first thing to note is you should be looking for a table/group, not a game. Yes, we’re of course running a campaign right now. But the idea is we’ll be doing future campaigns as well. We have a good group going, get along well, mesh well, and I put it together with the intent of being a group of friends gaming rather than a group of randos playing a campaign. (We all did meet here in LFG). So preference actually goes to people for whom this would be the only game you’ll be in versus people in 6 games a week. On that note, experience doesn’t matter. Heck, in some ways less can be better. We don’t need a professional player. Meshing with everyone as a player is 100% what we’re looking for. So what will help you mesh the best? Here’s a few quick bullets: - Women preferred. The person who dropped out was a woman. We’d like to keep the same dynamics if possible. We are currently 3 women, 2 guys. - You should like story telling role play. Note this may be different than just role playing a character. Here’s a test: you come upon a tower in the forest, inside of which is your objective. The DM asks you to describe the tower to the group and explain what is stopping you from just walking in. If that sounds like “work” to you or there’s a bit of “that’s what the DM is for.” I get it. But you’ll probably find our play style tedious and exhausting. We are definitely not a “just get to the action” type of group. - Age: be 30+. We’re all 30+ with kids, careers, lives, etc. For multiple reasons you being in the same boat will make everyone have more fun (including you). - Have some tech ability or ability to learn. You don’t need to be a tech guru. But if you haven’t grasped the basics of the VTT by session 5 or so we can’t stop to help you out every time it’s your turn. We use FG. Powerful for DMs (yay me), not the most user-friendly UI/UX. - No goofy shit for characters, etc. No hate on that type of play, just not what we’re doing in this group. Think more GoT type play than “I ride around as a mushroom person on my tiny pet squirrel” type of play. - Enjoy a more hardcore style of play rather than typical power fantasy of 5e. Magic is toned down significantly. Long rests are rare. Much more gritty feeling than standard DnD. If you play DnD just to roll some dice and kill some orcs to blow off steam, you won’t enjoy our game. This is more like “my character is always on 2 levels of exhaustion, my spell slots are burned, I don’t have any potions, and now I’m supposed to go dive into this creepy dungeon???? Wtf!?” - Be ok with natural consequences and a DM who may say “no” to things. Not to kill creativity, but just like no, you can’t charm the king into letting you go free after you just killed his daughter. There’s no scenario that exists that will get you out of the predicament you’re currently in based on your choices. How the story develops from here (see the role play above) is yet to be seen. If this sounds like fun or your kind of group, or you just want to hear more, hit me up.

Hello, I'm possum and I'm getting back into DnD. Looking for a group of likeminded adults who are both busy and understanding of everyone else's schedules. I'm a father and firefighter, so all games will be played at Night and there will be learning open for you and for me.  We would be playing over Discod and using Foundry VTT due to it's ease of access.  Adults would be prefered and no other requirements would be needed. Hope to hear from you soon so we can start our first Campaign and make it the first of many.

SootheSword Freeblades

Just in case, our session times are 11:30pm CST to TBD My group of three, I included, are looking for at least three other players. We intend to rotate campaigns and DMs as we complete one and move on to the next.(Or change things up as we see fit) If interested dm me and I can give more details like current party member class, race, and the like. You all will be playing as Freeblades under the SootheSword Freeblades Company. A large scale company of mercenaries that currently act as its own swaying military organization. Of course this only happened about 100 years ago after what is known as the pillar ( an evereaching black obelisk ) shifted the planets axis. This caused the ice caps to melt and reform causing cities to sink and shift nearly all livable space to what used to be mountainside regions. The Pillar was set in place by a god Only known as the Tyrant, receiving this name after killing three other gods in the pantheon and usurping their power to create this object. The Pillar physically connects all planes of existence as a physical place with no end or beginning.  Causing unpredictable events and entities from leaving and entering the material plane. As a side note I am not the current DM however I do host the server we meet up and chat with.

I wasn't finding enough games to join that had everything I needed and that would also get back to me. So, I decided I'd try to find the right people for me this way! Hello, I am Grill! I am a silly gal and you can find some basic info about me in my player profile ^^ I am not the GM, and I am willing to let the future GM have full creative freedom for the story. All I ask is that the campaign we do be suitable for both teens and adults. And please let me be able to be silly and whimsical! Perhaps a fairy!!! Homebrew is very much allowed!

Hey everyone! I'm looking to start a D&D group and learn the game together. I'm also willing to be the DM, even though I'm still learning myself! I'm mainly looking for new players who want to learn and have fun together, but more experienced players are welcome too, as long as they're patient with beginners. Just a heads-up: I'll probably make some mistakes along the way, and I'll likely have to improvise certain parts of the campaign. I'm hoping we can all learn as we go, have fun, and create a great story together! If you're interested, feel free to reach out! 😊

Hey Everyone!  Me and my group are currently looking for Players to join our discord server for a long standing Campaign if possible! We are newer to D&D so we hope to find people that don't mind joining us! We want to create a community of 10+ people to run multiple campaigns later on, as of right now there are 6 members in our discord server so we hope to create a fun and engaging community where everyone can interact and have fun together! We are against paid sessions and believe everyone should be welcomed to join and just have fun in the community  As Dm I Ideally like to get another campaign running on Thursday or Friday since I run one campaign on Saturdays, the time for Thursday or Friday isn't set until I find a group for these days For possible players We are a new community in discord so we want to make it a positive experience for everyone and have a much fun as possible! Backgrounds or other personal details don't really matter to us we want to be a open community and have a safe space for everyone to engage and just escape day to day grind life gives us and roll that NAT 20 to seduce the dragon (if that's what you're into 😂) but we also hope to just add more people and grow as a community and build relationships that will last a life time!  So if this is something you're interested in send me a message here or on Discord and I'd love to chat with you! Hello, My name is blu I'm looking for a group to play with in a bleach based campaign and a DM willing to run it Theres a Source book everyone will be able to get onto for free at all times online and I have saved the CS's thats specially made for the source book, all I'm looking for is up to 3 other players who want to try the class/races within the book and a dm willing to build a campaign based around the SB. I will send or put the SB somewhere in the dis server or if you want to peak at it sooner I can send it to you before joining the server. What would I like to play as? A soul reaper based would be preferable over others but also for extra challenge a hollow campagin could be fun if we can fighure out how to do it. why bleach over normal dnd? 1. why not, 2. bc I really like bleach. how long of a campaign do I want? Up to the dm and players but I'd like a longer campaign. what level to start on? id like to start at level 1 to take the steps of what you are gaining within the book and gain more of a understanding of the class or classes in the SB. Finally where can you contact me? Just dm here and ask, I want to know that I'm getting friended and not just randomly get a friend request and ignore it. 1, big thing I don't want is NO GEN AI AT ALL, please if you like using gen AI please don't bother, I don't want to see AI "art". 2, No homo, trans, or any other phobs, or isims, I won't take it and kick you out of the group myself. IF the group works well together I'd like to dm a Campaign of my own with the same group so if you're dming this campaign you can look forward to a campaign after we're done playing this one. Thank you for reading I hope to see someone or  multiple people ready to play. Blu UwU

[Online] [5e 2014] [CST] DM Looking for 5 Players

Hey everyone! The world is dying, and the last great civilizations are hiding beneath the earth, ignoring the problem. Sanctuary is a massive underground city filled with powerful wizards, ancient magic, dangerous guilds, and political rivalries. While the world above crumbles, those in power are too busy pursuing their own plans and fighting among themselves to stop what's coming. You aren't here to save the world. At least, not at first. You're here for your own reasons, whatever they may be. Gold, knowledge, revenge, ambition, or something worth fighting for — Sanctuary has opportunities for those willing to take risks. What begins as a simple job could become something far bigger than you ever intended. I'm a longtime online DM looking for 5 players for a homebrew D&D 5e (2014) campaign that I'm really excited to run. We'll play Sundays from 8:15 AM to 11:15 AM CST using Foundry VTT and Discord. There will be a 15-minute break during each session, and the campaign is expected to run for approximately 3 months. This is a dark fantasy campaign featuring exploration, roleplay, political conflict, strange magic, and large-scale battles. Your decisions can have lasting consequences on the city, its people, and the factions fighting for control. I'm looking for players who want to get invested in the world, work together, and see where their choices take them. The Hook The world is dying. The surface has become a wasteland. Something from beyond this world has been feeding on the life of the planet, and the civilizations that once stood against it are mostly gone. What remains survives beneath the earth. Sanctuary is one of the last great cities of the mortal realm — a massive underground civilization built by those who fled the dying surface. It's a city of powerful wizards, ancient magic, wealthy merchants, dangerous guilds, and ordinary people simply trying to survive. But Sanctuary has a problem. The wizards who rule the city are too busy fighting over power, politics, research, and old grudges to agree on what should be done about the world outside. The Fae Queens are barely holding the last remnants of life together. The surface is dying. The city is cracking. And something is coming. You aren't a legendary hero. Not yet, anyway. You're an adventurer who needs gold. Fortunately, there's always work for people willing to risk their lives. The Retrievers Guild specializes in recovering magical artifacts, lost knowledge, and valuable resources from places no sane person would willingly visit. You've spent weeks looking for work. Today, you finally get a contract. A surface expedition. Good pay. Valuable discoveries. A chance to make a name for yourselves. You arrive at the Retrievers Guild warehouse, where hundreds of adventurers are preparing for the expedition. Wagons are being loaded. Weapons are being checked. Spells are being prepared. Your contract seems simple: Protect the expedition. Protect each other. Bring back what you find. But the surface has secrets. The Drow are moving. The Fae are dying. Something is hunting the survivors of the old world. And the deeper you venture into the ruins of what came before, the more obvious it becomes that this expedition isn't just about treasure. Sanctuary is running out of time. Eventually, you'll have to decide what you're willing to do about it. Will you protect Sanctuary? Change it? Or burn it down and build something better? That choice belongs to you. The Setting For nearly 500 years, Sanctuary has existed beneath the dying world, built by those who fled the surface in hopes of preserving what remained of civilization. What began as a refuge has become a massive underground city of towering districts, ancient magic, powerful wizards, wealthy merchants, dangerous guilds, and political factions. Sanctuary is humanity's greatest hope for survival — but that doesn't mean its people agree on what survival should look like. Life goes on beneath the earth. Adventurers gamble on underground ring fights, crowds gather to watch water-skimmer races through the city's waterways, and merchants compete for fortunes while guilds fight over contracts, influence, and secrets. There is always money to be made, trouble to find, or someone willing to pay you to take a risk. But beyond the noise and spectacle, the city is under pressure. Resources are precious, old rivalries run deep, and the world above grows more hostile with every passing year. Whatever future Sanctuary has, it won't be decided by its rulers alone. The campaign draws inspiration from Dragon Age, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, The Witcher, Dark Souls, Forgotten Realms, He Who Fights with Monsters, and Brandon Sanderson. Expect a mix of dark fantasy, exploration, large-scale battles, political conflict, strange magic, and player-driven choices. Your decisions can have lasting consequences for the city, its people, and the factions fighting to shape its future. Game Rules D&D 5e 2014 Mostly standard rules Most official 2014 content is allowed Tasha's Cauldron of Everything is generally allowed Very few house-rule adjustments Homebrew content is available for the setting, including some homebrew classes Character creation will be discussed with the group before play Game Requirements Foundry VTT installed on your PC Discord installed on your PC A good-quality microphone Ability to communicate clearly through Discord A reasonably quiet playing environment Reliable attendance Schedule Sundays: 8:15 AM – 11:15 AM CST There will be a 15-minute break in the middle of the session. The campaign is expected to run for approximately 3 months. What I'm Looking For I'm looking for 5 players who enjoy working together and want to be part of a group with good chemistry. You don't need to be a professional roleplayer or a hardcore D&D veteran. I'm mainly looking for players who get along well with others, enjoy teamwork and roleplay, are comfortable communicating over Discord, show up consistently, and want to experience a campaign where their choices actually matter. Interested in joining? Send me a Reddit DM and tell me a little about yourself! Nothing fancy — I just want to get to know you a bit and see if we'd be a good fit for the group. Let me know what you enjoy about D&D, what kind of games you like playing, and confirm that Sundays from 8:15–11:15 AM CST work for you. That's it! We'll chat a bit, and if it seems like a good fit, we'll go from there. A Few Things to Know Before Joining Dice gods rule over all — player death is possible and can be a sad or angering topic. I hope you will act with honor during these times, as I know the world and other players will mourn the loss. I promise that I will retcon when needed; however, 99% of the time, it stands. Choices were made, and I wish you the best of luck! I run 99% Rules as Written. For the weird instances, I have a long history with the game, so I've run into most issues. Rules are rules. I like them. I also know when the Rule of Cool is needed. I love Dark Souls and The Way of Kings, and you'll see certain aspects at play. I love difficult challenges and courageous heroes. I don't like heroes who always need the spotlight or who talk over each other in a small chat room. Out-of-the-box thinking is rewarded, but spells do as they say. Fae deals are powerful and can have lasting impacts. Fae Queens are fickle and have their own rules. I love The Dresden Files, and you'll see a lot of the rules for the Fae from that book series. I have been in the online D&D space for a long time; thus, fan noises are not allowed, lol. Also, I have a kid, and she will be nearby but will not pester : ) Her mom will be nearby. A Little About Me I've been playing and DMing D&D online for years, and I'm excited to bring this world to life. I love creative problem-solving, memorable characters, difficult encounters, and seeing players come up with plans I never expected. At the end of the day, I'm here to run a fun game with a group of people who enjoy playing together. I take the game seriously, but I'm not trying to make it a second job. I love a good plan, a terrible plan that somehow works, and those moments where the entire table loses it laughing. I'm excited to see what you bring to the table and what kind of story we end up creating together!

Hello. We are a group of D&D players and DMs that have been together for 8 years. We recently had some members move away, so we are looking for more players. We occasionally change DMs, so no forever DMs here. We tend to focus more on roleplay than combat. We are open to other TTRPG systems or tabletop games in general. We are currently running a hombrew campaign in 5e.

Newbie friendly

I am still working on the idea and the necessary details for the campaign. But starting to look for potentially suitable players beforehand. The story/concept of the campaign: Off the coast of New Oldton a strange mist has appeared. Visible from the docks it initially seemed like a weird weather anomaly that seemed like a great topic to discuss at the local bar. But nothing more. But the mist was there days later, a week. A month. This is when the locals started to feel uneasy about it suddenly appearing. It seemed harmless. It was harmless. Until someone tried to sail into the mist. They never returned. But strange things started happening. Rare flashes or light from whatever the mist was covering. Some say they saw an island with a mountain through the mist. Some claim that they saw a large tower in the middle of the island.  Many stories were spread - each different from the other. And these didn't come from those that were considered *a bit odd* among the townsfolk. Regular people, bakers, smiths, dockworkers, fishermen. But their stories of what they had seen in the mist were almost always different. Now a stranger from out of town seems to be recruiting heroes and adventurers to head an expedition through the mist. A death sentence - or an adventure waiting to happen? Well, the common folk will not be signing up for the journey.  But adventurers like you?...

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
[5e 2014] DM Looking for 5 Premade Players — 3-Month Sunday Campaign Hey everyone! I'm a longtime online DM with a homebrew campaign that I'm really excited to run. The campaign is designed for 5 players and will run for approximately 3 months on Sunday mornings. The catch: I'm specifically looking for a premade group of 5 players who already know and have played with each other for more than a few sessions. I'm looking to give another DM a break for a few months by running their group through my campaign. Each player would play their own PC during the sessions. You'll need access to Foundry VTT and Discord. The Setting The campaign takes place in Sanctuary, a massive underground dystopian city built from the remnants of a dying world. The surface is nearly dead. An enormous creature from beyond this world has been slowly feeding on the life of the planet. The land is becoming a wasteland, earthquakes tear through what remains, and civilization has collapsed across much of the world. Only a handful of powerful cities remain. Sanctuary is one of them. Home to powerful wizards, ancient magic, wealthy merchants, and dangerous guilds, the city should be humanity's greatest hope for survival. Instead, its wizards are too busy fighting over power, politics, and their own interests to deal with the world dying around them. The Fae Queens are barely holding the last remnants of life together. The surface is dying. The city is cracking. And something is coming. Campaign Tone The campaign is heavily inspired by: Dragon Age Warhammer: Age of Sigmar The Witcher Dark Souls Forgotten Realms He Who Fights with Monsters Brandon Sanderson It's a mix of dark fantasy, exploration, large-scale battles, political conflict, strange magic, and player-driven choices. Your decisions can have lasting consequences on the city, its people, and the factions within it. You don't need to be professional roleplayers or hardcore D&D veterans. I'm mainly looking for a group that: Gets along well Works together Enjoys roleplay Is comfortable communicating over Discord Shows up consistently Wants to experience a campaign where their choices actually matter If your regular DM wants a break for a few months, this might be a good fit. If you're interested, send me a Reddit DM with a little information about your group: How long you've been playing together How many players are in the group Your general D&D experience Confirmation that Sunday 8:15–11:15 AM CST works for everyone A little about what your group enjoys most about D&D The Hook The world is dying. Hello all, I'm Jon the DM and we're looking for players local to Indianapolis to join our new Planescape campaign. I'm a seasoned DM of 15 years, currently in my 30s looking for like minded players to round out our group. Our group is a cluster of folks in their 30s whose DnD experience varies across the board.  I tend to run narrative/character driven games regardless of the setting or system punctuated by high stakes and action with time for RP throughout. I craft and 3D print my own terrain and minis, and my lovely girlfriend is usually the painter but I'm working to improve! We're looking to play biweekly, Sundays from 12-6pm every other Sunday. I'll host at my home on the East side of Indianapolis. Feel free to reach out with any questions, looking forward to hearing from you! The Game Pitch: Plucked from the Prime, you find your very existence questioned in the balance of the Cosmic Wheel. What you believe doesn't just change your mind, it changes the Planes. You wake up in Sigil, the City of Doors, a floating metropolis built on the inside of a massive ring hovering above infinity. Here at the center of all things, every angel, demon, and philosophy has a doorstep. Each alleyway contains a door to a different plane of existence, if you have the key. And berk, you don't know the dark of it!         Tone/Inspiration: Disco Elysium, Kill Six Billion Demons, Neverwhere, Labyrinth, Planescape: Torment (duh)

APPS CLOSED! (Thank you to all who applied!) “Let no soul of Cestead call the bounty of the deep his own until he hath laboured for its recovery. Prince and pauper, clerk and captain, each shall take his appointed turn aboard the ships of scavenging; for the city is built from what the sea relinquishes, and no citizen may share in its shelter who will not first share in its gathering.” — The Admiral’s Primer, Volume IX: On Service and the Common Salvage, Verse 12 *** When the world ended, everything changed. The series of natural disasters that shattered the land and raised the sea levels meant the nations of the world were no longer a force to reckoned with. In fact, they were no longer anything at all. The oceans of the world churned and roiled and when they finally calmed, there was no land left for civilization to stand on. But that didn’t mean there was nothing left; out in the limitless wash of water that the world had become, five ships had - through happenstance or fate - come together and lashed themselves together to ride out the storm. As time went by, other ships would find them on the sea, and join them for safety and security forming a makeshift city on the water, the last bastion of life, the final floating example of culture and society - Cestead. You’ve recently returned from your second sea scavenging mission - a full month away from your floating home - but the promise of an actual payday and more Noted status got you back on the boat as soon as the opportunity was offered to you. The law states that everyone must do their time on the Gathering Runs, but only the desperately brave, or the bravely desperate do a second; and those who do more are usually somehow both. As you disembark, and return to the Gather to receive your pay, you don’t see the person watching you carry your single bag of belongings away from the docks, as you start to smell the scents and see the sights of home that you either missed, or wanted to escape in the first place. But rest assured, they saw you, and made a decision to offer you another way to achieve your goals; whether or not you choose to meet them and take them up on their offer is entirely up to you. But here on Cestead, the quiet rarely prosper, and the taste of salt on your face is perhaps growing tiresome. Wouldn’t you like to see what you can make for yourself, or make for your family? Some offers are too good to be refused, after all… *** “I don’t understand people who envy the Landsworn - staying in the same place every day, every week, every month? It would drive me crazy.” - Boranabys, of Civitas Shed, Port Side *** Greetings, adventurer! We are a powerful duo of 2 DMs (one early 30s and one late 30s) looking for one player to round out our party for a long-term homebrew campaign. We currently have a group of four players already playing, and we would love to find a wonderful fifth! We welcome everyone, especially want to encourage people of color, women, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to apply! We want our game to be a collaborative, safe and fun place for everyone involved so we intend to be very thoughtful and selective throughout the recruitment process. Absolutely no racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia or any other discriminatory behavior will be tolerated. This game is online so applicants should have a reliable internet connection and good quality mic and webcam as we intend to play with video to facilitate nonverbal communication in-game. We understand that not everyone may be comfortable with video, but we feel it’s necessary for the collaborative and connected storytelling experience that we are looking for in this campaign. We will be using D&D 5e (2014) as a ruleset, though the world and the characters are entirely homebrew - though if you have a particular love for 5.5e, we are certainly willing to hear you out! Sessions will be held weekly on Wednesdays at 6:00pm CST for approximately 3.5 hours. We’ll use Roll20 for the VTT, Discord for voice/video, and D&D Beyond for character sheets (with Beyond20 browser plugin). Before applying, please ensure that you are available at this time and able to commit to attend sessions every week (exceptions for missing games occasionally due to life events, of course). While we don’t plan to include any mature content, we will only consider applicants who are at least 18+. No prior experience with D&D is necessary, but applicants should be interested in a story-driven campaign with lots of roleplay (since that’s one of the things we enjoy the most) and be willing to invest time in creating an interesting character that fits the world and supports the party. We expect players to remain in-character during sessions (bonus points for doing a character voice, but not required), avoid metagaming, and be collaborative and respectful. No min/maxers, spotlight hogs, loot hoarders, or PVP will be allowed. To be sure that you have read this far, please list your favorite magic item and why in the last question of your application. We plan to keep the application open until Friday 23rd, so please be patient while we review everyone’s application. We will reach out to select applicants over Discord to arrange an interview with us. “For what is Fate but a Master of Tales, A Storyteller with a cast of all, And if tragedy treats you like a pawn, Wouldst comedy feel better with the fall?” A Chill To The Bone, Act 3, Scene 2 Application link closed

The Campaign will take place in either after the original Thousand Year Blood War, after the end of Bleach. You can play as either an Shinigami, Quincy, Fullbringer, or even an Arrancar. The character's will start at Level 1, and procced to Level 10. We can talk more about it over on my Discord Server. I thank you all so much for reading this and I hope to hear from you all soon, and I can't wait to see what we do with this story and hopefully make some friends as well.

Cadaver Resurrected (or, the World Without Dying)

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
Put the premise of 2023's Oppenheimer into the body-horror genre and add the apocalypse: welcome to this homebrew campaign! Trifling with the afterlife created a world where the dead have nowhere to go, and have nothing to separate them from the living. Desperate to survive, kingdoms across the realm have consolidated into single capitals, each self-sufficiently sustaining whole populations—until resources run low. Enter a character-driven tale teetering along political tensions, espionage, social status, omnipresent threats, and above all, control over your body! For this campaign, I’m looking for a party of 5 to 6 people (8 people maximum) interested in a continental, discovery-focused narrative. Meeting times for sessions will depend on everyone’s availability and pre-existing commitments. Discord will be used for whole-group and direct messaging. Our initial sessions will be for deep-dives into the story and worldbuilding, then for party composition and character creations; personal backstories will be developed separately, though prompts and helpful considerations will be released! This campaign uses Foundry vtt, but no costs or fees are required otherwise. This will be a horror- and dark-fantasy-based campaign that relies heavily on consequence and conflict. Obviously, death has a substantial role in this story, so players should not expect to get comfortable for too long. That said, I’m not a DM too fond of permanently killing off PCs on a whim, so let this be of some comfort! Your characters will enter the campaign through the urban and inner-city settings, where you will get a taste of the apocalyptic, survivalist lifestyle common throughout the realm. The story will begin in one of the six major capitals, each with their own agendas and allegiances and rivalries (all of which I will delineate in our initial sessions). Major themes include espionage and political conflicts (often turning into militaristic endeavors and advances), not to mention the overarching thread of escaping an afterlife spillover! Below are some concepts and terms worth familiarizing your character with: The Recrudescence—the day when the afterlife entered the material plane. The exact date is unknown, but most of the realm learned of the afterlife spillover by the end of the summer season. The Shared Sea—the body of water connecting all parts of the realm. The landmass can be visualized as a giant horseshoe or a ring, the middle of which is all water/ocean (hence, the ‘Shared’ Sea). The Storm—principal and largest (and most feared) cluster of afterlife spirits; most easily depicted as a colossal hurricane bouncing from city to city along the Shared Sea. Wandering Spirits—souls/spirits that once belonged to a deceased creature, now searching for a new host (i.e., the body of a living creature);—includes both the souls within Storm and individual or grouped Displaced. Displaced—wandering spirits not part of the Storm. Displaced spirits and the activity thereof attract other Displaced, hence why people are afraid of drawing any attention. Jumpscares—In the event that a creature dies, other adjacent creatures may undergo a jumpscare, during which their spirits (of the living creatures) eject from their host bodies as if being displaced. Jumpscares do not result from displacement, but rather from the death of a host body. For example, if a character kills one creature in a group, the rest of that group may experience jumpscares and have their spirits ejected. Every living creature has the capacity for one soul (without amalgamating, turning malignant, or ascending). A displaced can steal your body and eject your original soul, which in turn becomes displaced. Finally, wandering spirits cannot linger in place or around the creatures whose bodies they failed to assimilate!  If any of this interests you, visit the interest form below to (a) get a more thorough view of what this campaign seeks and (b) further indicate your interest in this grandiose adventure! - https://forms.gle/xn585Qo94JxRZx6F9

Hi! My name's Caleb. I'm a queer 33 y/o artist by trade (and also for fun). I have an established group of other artists and creatives, and we're specifically hoping to find a fellow artist to join us. No specific skill level in mind, we just really like the idea of playing with other like-minded people! I'm running Curse of Strahd! We have one very established character (coming over from a previous CoS campaign that ended very early) and a few character ideas floating around, but we're all very much in the beginning stages of forming everything. We're looking to start playing early next year, giving us good time to plan, bond, and also avoid any holiday scheduling conflicts! We make playlists, art, moodboards, do written RP for downtime, etc. Very engaged group! I build strong narratives, and incorporate player backstory into the main plot as much as I can. Curse of Strahd is lethal, and you can easily stumble into a TPK if you don't take it seriously. So please keep that in mind. We're looking for someone who wants to take the game very seriously, while having fun. We have a diverse, queer table and we're looking for others who fit in. We haven't started the campaign yet! Please note some of the following: - This game most likely has this static time slot: 7PM-11PM EST, every other Wednesday. The day could potentially change, but it is most likely going to be the Wednesday. And no, the timeslot unfortunately will not be changed. - late 20's-40's in age - looking for people 30+ ideally. Do not apply if you are a teenager or in your very early 20s, your application will be deleted immediately. - roughly 60/40, roleplay/combat ratio - romance, flirtation and fade-to-black intimacy is always permitted at my table. Everything else will be table veils and lines. - my tables usually have a species list (humans and variants, all elves, genasi, tieflings, changelings always being standard, but I am open to homebrew and other suggestions.) - Discord for VC, Foundry VTT - D&D 5e - zero tolerance for AI in any part of your character creation - while sometimes it can't be helped, I am looking for someone who definitely wants to see this through to the end. Please be committed to the game. It will not be short. - Curse of Strahd has many difficult themes. While I will stick to veils and lines, please be aware that this is a dark, gritty campaign, and if your limits are too extreme, it might not be a fit for you.  ----- If you're still interested in hearing more, please fill out this form! And if you have artist friends who might be interested, send them this post! https://forms.gle/AyzoSRa9n1RUD4vG6 - Caleb

We'll play list mine of phandelver, starting with the session zero to talk about the campaign and meet each other. I pretend run another campaign right after this adventure and I want to talk about that and decide with the players wich adventure should we play. I apologize for my English, I'm still learning and sometime I probably will forget some words during the game. The game starts at 6 pm.

A dark archipelago of dangerous waters, unforgiving weather, and ruthless people, ruled by a cold and powerful Empress. The realm fell into despair when a deadly plague known as the "Sanguine Mist" or simply the “Red Mist” as it’s known colloquially, swept over the dark waters, causing a painful and gruelling end as symptoms include; visible, bright red veins, frequent bleeding from nose, mouth, or eyes, fragile skin that bruises and cuts easily, oddly liquid looking pupils and most notably, the constant coughing and hacking up a bloody, crimson mist that eventually causes the infected to suffocate, before reanimating their corpse as a mindless, siren-like zombie. Life here is tough, but the people are tougher, and there’s been an odd sense of routine that has formed since the first signs of the infection. Many make their living hauling or pilfering parts of the dead and dying, and while a vague sense of normalcy has returned, there remain a few who continue to search for a cure.

Homebrew

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
This is a very roleplay-heavy campaign. Combat absolutely happens and can be important, but there is generally less of it than you would find in a typical D&D game. Characters, relationships, exploration, lore, choices, and the consequences of those choices make up a huge portion of the campaign. The tone can also change quite a bit depending on what is happening. There are storylines that get genuinely serious, emotional, or intense, but there are also sessions where everyone spends half the night laughing. One of the things we enjoy about the campaign is that it has room for both. It can be dramatic when it needs to be without feeling like the characters aren’t allowed to have fun. The DM has also built an extremely large amount of lore over the years. There are history documents, setting information, character-accessible documents, and other material that gets sent out as we learn more about the universe. You absolutely do not need to memorize four and a half years of campaign history before joining, but you do need to be someone who doesn’t mind reading and engaging with the material you’re given.

Mourndaer is a large continent home to numerous peoples, species, and factions that do not always get along. The Rabi are one such people, frog-like humanoids who have made the vast marshes of the south their home; the Nation of Merre.  Most Rabi are peaceful by nature, and very spiritually inclined. They travel the waterways in floating wooden settlements, taking only what they need to survive. With a strong sense of community, the villages of Merre are some of the most peaceful and crime-free in the world. Our party will begin in Croara, another Rabi village where nothings ever happens. Until you arrive, that is.. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is a homebrew world of mine that's been in development for a little bit now called Terraquin. It's an expansive dark fantasy world inspired by some of my favourite fantasy media, like Warhammer, Lord of the Rings, and GoT, to name a few. My DMing style is very rule of cool and narratively focused, so if that sounds like something you'd be interested in, shoot me a message and I'll give you more details. Thanks!

grounded: the helix organizations mistakes

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
The Helix Initiative was introduced to the public as a revolutionary leap in environmental adaptation, biological medicine, and survival science. Officially, the organization claimed it was developing new ways for humanity to survive ecological collapse, disease, and resource shortages. Behind closed doors, however, Helix operated hidden research divisions dedicated to experimentation far beyond legal or ethical limits. Somewhere deep within those divisions, a scientist identified in surviving records only as Dr. W██d████ T████ developed a machine capable of shrinking living organisms to less than an inch tall. The technology was presented internally as a breakthrough in resource efficiency and medical research—but many of the subjects brought into testing were children between the ages of eight and sixteen. Most never returned. You are one of the survivors. After undergoing the procedure, you awaken inside an ordinary city park that has become an impossible wilderness at your scale. Blades of grass tower like trees. Puddles become lakes capable of drowning entire groups. Ants patrol the dirt like armored soldiers, while spiders transform sections of the park into web-choked death zones. Every inch of terrain matters. Every storm is catastrophic. Survival depends on learning how to weaponize the environment itself—crafting tools and defenses from thorns, sap, insect shells, broken plastic, roots, and scavenged debris left behind by previous miniature civilizations that clearly did not survive for long. As you explore deeper into the park, you begin discovering abandoned outposts, collapsed shelters, and fragmented Helix logs detailing increasingly unstable experiments. The records reference attempts to create “evolutions chosen suvivors” capable of evolving beyond normal biological limits. Again and again, one phrase appears alongside heavily censored personnel files: MARROW SYNDROME. The disease slowly destroys the body in stages—first decaying bone tissue, then muscle structure, and finally flooding the lungs with blood. Somewhere among the corrupted files are hints that Dr. W██d████ T████ never joined Helix out of loyalty. Some logs imply he infiltrated the organization to expose its corruption, free the surviving test subjects, and continue researching a cure for a terminally ill child connected to the syndrome. Whether those rumors are true remains uncertain. Helix officially denies the existence of both the disease and the scientist. Not every strange thing in the park comes from Helix laboratories. Survivors occasionally encounter a bizarre figure known only as Rock—a hyper-muscular talking bee obsessed with shouting “MUSCLE” at every possible opportunity. Most groups dismiss him as insane until they realize he understands far more about the park than he should. One moment he acts like a reckless coach forcing terrified children to become stronger, and the next he casually references erased facilities, failed experiments, or “previous attempts” that nobody else remembers. Near the edges of abandoned Helix sectors, Rock sometimes becomes unusually quiet, staring into empty space before muttering warnings that sound less like jokes and more like genuine fear. HE IS WATCHING YOUR EVERY MOVE...

Looking for adventurers! Have you always wanted to try D&D but never had the chance? Or are you a seasoned adventurer looking for a relaxed, story-focused table? I’m looking for players to join me for Lost Mine of Phandelver, a classic D&D 5e adventure filled with exploration, roleplay, dungeon delving, and plenty of opportunities for your characters to become the heroes of the story. 🎲 About the Game * System: D&D 5e * Adventure: Lost Mine of Phandelver * Experience Level: Beginners absolutely welcome! * Table: 18+ * GM Experience: 2 years * Style: Rule of Cool > Rules As Written * Tone: Adventure, exploration, roleplay, comedy, and classic fantasy * LGBTQ+ Friendly: 🏳️‍🌈 Everyone is welcome at my table I’m a relatively laid-back GM who cares more about everyone having a great time than stopping the game every five minutes to consult a rulebook. If something makes sense for the story and doesn’t completely break the game, I’m usually willing to roll with it. Creativity is encouraged. If you have an idea that isn’t explicitly covered by the rules, tell me what you’re trying to do and we’ll figure it out together. 🌟 New Players Welcome Never played D&D before? That’s completely fine. I’ll help you learn the basics as we play, explain rules when they come up, and give you room to learn without feeling like you’re being tested. You don’t need to know what every action, bonus action, reaction, spell slot, or mysterious collection of numbers on your character sheet means before we start.

Yawning Portal into Homebrew Adventure

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Howdy! We have a Friday evening D&D game that is looking for at least one player, but preferably two or even three to fill out gaps in the group. We are currently level eight and going through the book Tales from the Yawning Portal. The primary DM is setting the story in his own world and making the appropriate changes to the stories and encounters within. I, the co-DM, only help with balancing encounters, story hooks and paint most of the minis that are used in the game. The plan is to get through the book and the optional level twenty encounter at the end with the players learning about his homebrew world as they progress. Then at the end, launch into a potentially longer, fully homebrew adventure set in his world. Most things are allowed from 2014 fifth edition, minus some things that simply wouldn't make sense in the world (Warforged, some Planescape stuff, a small handful of spells, the modern equipment in the DMG, etc.). We do however use some third party resources to fill in gaps and plenty of homebrew and Unearth Arcana rules as well. I cannot justly describe his world, but it is inspired by Final Fantasy XIV, some of the earlier Tales game, and has achieved steampunk and early 1900s-era levels of technology that works in tandem with magic. It still has plenty of high fantasy tropes and stories, but can also be more gritty and low fantasy just as easily in parts. We try to have some of each and have them flow together in a balanced way. The game will be held on Fridays starting at 6:00PM EST, hosted at a game shop we both use. The game uses physical miniatures and roll out battle mats, but online character creation (most players use Dndbeyond, but it is not required so long as we can access and view player sheets). Everyone at the table is late twenties to early thirties, nerds who like fantasy and sci-fi, can get a bit loud but try to be friendly, and love collecting new, shiny dice as often as we can and showing off the best ones. We try not to discuss real life topics at the game and would welcome anyone to our table as long as they're there to play a game and have fun.

Adventures in the Forgotten Realms

Hello! We're a group of 5 players currently seeking a dm to run a long term campaign in the Forgotten Realms! We already have a few character ideas, we just need someone to take us on our journey. We have just a few requirements: Please be over 18! No bigots, we are a queer friendly space. We have a few homebrew races/subclasses we wanted to make, so if you're willing to work with us on some homebrew/maybe house rules as needed, that'd be great. We want to get to at least level 17 at some point, so please be in it for the long haul!

Hey everyone! I'm looking to put together a group for The Aetherial Expanse, which I'll be running through Foundry VTT using The Forge. I'm a new DM, and part of the reason I'm putting this group together is because I want to actually get some experience behind the screen, experiment with different ways of running the game, and get feedback from my players as I improve. A little about my DM style: roleplaying and character voices are definitely not my strongest area yet. I'm still getting comfortable portraying NPCs and improvising conversations. Where I do put a lot of effort is into maps, environments, visuals, and giving players things they can actually see and interact with. I really enjoy making detailed VTT maps and building out locations for the party to explore. I'm looking for players who don't mind having a newer DM and are willing to be patient while I learn. Constructive feedback is absolutely welcome. I'd like this to be a group where everyone can have fun, learn each other's playstyles, and build a campaign together rather than expecting everything to be perfect from session one.

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
TIME AVAILABILITY! Putting this at the top here since I can't choose multiple days AND times. There are three time slots available- Saturdays at 12 PM ET, Sunday at 12 PM, ET, or Sunday at 6 PM, ET! There is also a Google form at the bottom of the description here! Now Recruiting: E.C.L.I.P.S.E., a Chuunibyou Campaign You always knew you were destined for more. Everyone else just thought it was a phase~ Alright, everyone! I'm looking for players for a chuuni-centric campaign. You'll play as high schoolers, each a chuuni in their own glorious way. Maybe you're the heralded Bringer of Chaos, sent by the Dark God Tyranny. Maybe you're the reincarnation of the Angel of Sorrow. Maybe you are the Absence of Identity, Who Art We. Whatever your manifestation, you've spent years declaring it to anyone who would listen to your ramblings and monologues, though most people stopped listening a long time ago. This year, you're all joining your first official highs chool club: E.C.L.I.P.S.E. (otherwise known as the Extracurricular Club for Literature, Improv, Performance, Storytelling, and Expression). Finally, a place to be exactly who you are: reciting incantations, designing sigils, and arguing over whose dark lineage is more ancient. But deep down, every one of you knows none of it is real, no matter how badly you want it to be. That is, until you meet the club advisor, Mr. Stefan Enoch DuBose! The man is a bit quirky and odd, but seems to mean well. eads better as "None of that matters, however, when he closes the classroom door and does something impossible: real magic, performed right in front of you! The things in the shadows are real. Eldritch creatures are pressing into our world, and Mr. DuBose belongs to a secret organization of powerful entities sworn to stop them. He wants to recruit you. All of you. From that day on, you lead a double life. By day, you're a teenager dealing with homework, club meetings, and classmates (and parents) who still think you're weird. When a creature makes itself known, you transform into the powered self you always claimed to be. As it turns out, you were right all along, silly doubts be damned~ Players will be able to choose what D&D class and race they want to be, however, when they’re not transformed, they will be their normal human selves. We’ll also be using gestalt rules, where players will be raising the levels of two classes at the same time! One of those classes can be whatever you want, but the other will be the Legacy Warlock subclass from the Valda’s Spire of Secrets book! (You’ll find out why if you don’t already know~). We’ll be starting at level 1, and I plan to go up to probably around level 10, but it IS possible to go longer. This is meant to be a more fun campaign, but there is always the chance for serious topics and themes to come up! As such, players must be 18+! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe5qHMq3iVISouiVjNfACnHADYZd0RO_MCTeOGymfCk3nhGqQ/viewform?usp=header

Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
A D&D 5e One-Shot About Making Bad Decisions in the Face of Certain Death The premise is simple: You are going to face something you cannot defeat. Not probably can’t defeat. Not might be able to defeat. You are completely and spectacularly outmatched. This one-shot is inspired by Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill! and is designed around the idea of throwing the party into an absolutely hopeless situation and seeing what happens. ⚔️ This is NOT a traditional heroic adventure. There is no expectation that the party will defeat the final threat. There may not even be a realistic way to survive. Instead, the goal is to create a fun, memorable, ridiculous, and occasionally heroic last stand where your decisions determine how your character faces the inevitable. Maybe you run. Maybe you fight. Maybe you come up with an absolutely insane plan. Maybe you spend your final moments arguing with the rest of the party about whose fault this was. Whatever happens, the goal is to have a great time. 🎲 About the DM I’ve been DMing for 2+ years and have experience running games through Discord and Owlbear. I’m also new-player friendly. You don’t need years of D&D experience to join. I’ll help explain rules and get you comfortable with the game as we go. 🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ+ friendly The table is intended to be welcoming and respectful to everyone. Come ready to have fun, make questionable decisions, and embrace the chaos. ⚠️ Important Player Expectation Character death is not only possible, it is expected. This adventure is specifically built around an overwhelming threat and the possibility of certain death. Please don’t bring a character you’ve spent months developing if permanent character death would ruin the experience for you. Bring a character you’re excited to play, roll some dice, make some memories, and see how long you can keep the inevitable at bay.

Chronicles of Alver - Viking - one player needed

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
TL;DR [One Player Needed - All Welcomed] [homebrew - Viking inspired] [Thursdays 21:30 GMT +2 ] We have one slot available for a 4-player party. You can read below everything about the campaign, its settings, etc, and I can share a lot more lore with whoever gets to the Discord "face-to-face" interview :) Since the campaign launched on YouTube, you can also watch recent episodes to get a sense of the current party vibe and overall style. We keep things balanced, so there are episodes with a lot of fighting and episodes with mostly role-play. Mind - We are all experienced players/DMs but amateurs when it comes to "acting", so don't expect great acting, technical know-how, or CR level game ;) You can find it on YouTube under the name: The Chronicles of Alver - https://www.youtube.com/@ChroniclesofAlver I will add that I'm looking for people with the ability to take charge and initiate role play and conversations - I want you to feel like you're in the world and try your best to "live" in it :) Lastly, everyone is welcome to try - I don't care about your race, sexual orientation, or favorite blanket as a child. Be kind and friendly to the rest of the party, and you'll fit right in :) Click the link to apply: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIeo4QAfbIuDVafQxzwxbnO4WD9GxjzJyPEBvs4x5R9SeiWg/viewform?usp=header ******************* Hey everyone! This post will be long as I want to give you a lot of information, so bear with me :) Index: About me About the campaign About the world Closing words About me: I'm an experienced DM (over 9 years). I would like to have five players for the campaign. You don't need to be a veteran, but I prefer some experience. The campaign is my homebrew world, which I created for a fantasy book I'm writing (and have been for several long years). I'm the head of a creative studio in an AAA-related gaming company. I'm a fantasy lover, a medieval history buff, and a martial artist, so if it has capes, I'm in! I'm a married father of three with a dog (so technically four as she's very much a daughter to me). I generally love dad jokes and word puns. I always mean my puns! About the campaign: We'll be using 5e with many homebrew elements. All the races and lore are homebrew, but for ease of use, they will all be based on edited versions of "normal" races (and all will be added to D&D Beyond). The party is currently at level 7. This will strike a balance between action and role-play. You will have a lot of weight on the story and direction. Everything goes - as long as it's realistic within the logic and magic of the world. Please let me know what you'd like to try, and we'll see how to make it happen. Death is final. Mostly. If your character dies, it'll be rare to bring them back. But you can always roll a new character. My goal is for you to enjoy the game and story. I don't want to kill your characters. I aim to provide you with a challenge, an engaging story, and a fun and immersive experience. Weekly sessions are held on Thursdays, most often (unless too many people are unable to join, in which case we'll try to find an alternative day for that week). Sessions start at 21:30 +3 GMT (18:30 UTC) and are usually two and a half hours long. We're doing video chat via the Riverside website (also for recording). I believe seeing our faces and expressions helps connect us, so I want people who are not camera-shy. No one cares how you look, what your race or color is, or whatever - be yourself (and your character), and that's great! D&D Beyond + Foundry for combat + Discord (for text chats). YouTube/Podcast - I record our sessions and post them on the campaign's YouTube channel, and may also stream them live later. I'm not delusional in thinking we'll be big or famous, but maybe some people will find our game fun to watch and benefit from it. So you need to be ok with it. Before we dive into lore and character creation, I'll ask you to sign a release form to allow me to upload videos featuring you from our sessions (all the other players have signed this form - it is to protect both you and me in the future). We speak English. I'm not a native speaker, and I don't do accents very well. But I do have excellent English. The sessions will be in English. You need to be able to speak it well. Accents are fine :) Please do not include IRL politics or agendas during sessions - These motifs are ok and might be present if they are relevant to what's going on in the session (i.e, Slavery or the Spanish Inquisition if we face a similar situation - you can use philosophical ideas obviously) - But try not to insert IRL events happening now or in recent years if possible. Age groups - around 30 or above, please Ensure you schedule a time for the session. This is important, as we've had people cancel frequently, leading to canceled sessions that significantly hinder story progression and immersion. Unforeseen shit can happen, of course, but please, if you apply, make sure you can commit to being available for the sessions each week. About the world: We'll be playing in a world called Alver on the continent of Kronland. This is a heavily Nordic-inspired world. Imagine what the late Middle Ages and Renaissance in Europe would have looked and felt like if the Vikings had become the dominant influence rather than Christianity. At the same time, there would still be distinct kingdoms with their own cultures, fashions, and styles. Norse mythology is deeply ingrained in the world.  The lore is inspired by Nordic mythology, but it is NOT Nordic mythology. It's a full-on pantheon and history I created. Some stuff will align and match, but much will not.  The continent is vast, and thus, the distance between cities, villages, and civilizations is such that the world varies greatly, from areas with rare magic and supernatural elements to cosmopolitan cities with mixed races, magic, and wonder. The game is designed to strike a balance between drama, grim humor, and epic adventure. It's not just grimdark or silly - it'll be a mix of all. You'll start small in scope, but the story is meant to go epic by the end.  There are five playable races (with some having sub-races), which I'll share the details of later, but these are the closest "D&D" races to them in racial traits: Menskr: Humans + Vel (homebrew variant human - with some innate self-magical potential) Kettir: Homebrew Tabaxi Hedlinari: Homebrew mix between Dwarfs/Gnomes/Halfings Graari: Homebrew Goliath (with horns! lol) Mal-Siva: Homebrew Aasimar (The only race that can use "real" magic classes like Wizards or Warlocks in my world) Closing words: That's it. If you read all the way here, my respect! I hope we can have a fun, friendly group to play with, grow together, and have emotional support when needed (lol). Feel free to ask me any questions you might have!

Looking for 1-2 players for sunday sessions! 5e 2014 Hey all, we are looking for 1 or 2 players to join us in a homebrew longterm campaign. We are early days into the campaign, only level 6 right now, we start at 4pm GMT every sunday, have 3 consistent players with another in and out depending on the week. We've just lost a consistent player due to life getting in the way so hopefully we can pick someone up who wants to play weekly 😁 Players of any experience more than welcome, fun and respectful vibes (except one requirement is you have to be able to attempt to break the DM, we havent succeeded yet but im sure we will at some point 😂) Anyone interested please drop me a message and I can send details on the campaign!

Teen campaign, looking to start a new campaign!

Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
I've been a dungeon master a few times now and feel comfortable enough to explore some new stories. I will run a homebrew campaign and am allowing homebrew races and backgrounds (feel free to ask me about other homebrew things as well). I have some stories in mind and would love to ask my players which one they are most interested in. I am okay with long sessions, though I plan to have most session be around 2-4 hours long. If you're interested, send me a message on Discord or on here (I'm more likely to respond on Discord). I try to run a chill campaign, and I allow for a lot of leeway for actions. More Details Schedule: Weekdays from 5pm-10pm, or weekends from 12pm-12am. Any time in between these works for when we can start. Age Range: 14 - 19 Time zone: Only accepting people in the U.S., specifically I am CST. Play Style: Casual Looking for 3-5 players. Software: Foundry and DNDBeyond

Dungeons & Dragontypes! - A pokemon fantasy world

General agreed startingpoint / synopsis:  A ragtag found-family type group of eeveelution gijinkas adventure their way through a fantasy world to unveil the reason as to why pokemon are dissapearing.  (Must preface:) we do not have a DM juuuustt yet, we are a group in early conceptual territory as to why the synopsis is so short! we are hoping to enlist the help of a dm!! we are also looking for two more players! we know that is an explicitly hard/complicated ask, but hey! we love the concept so its worth a shot!!  Important info: Gijinka: meaning anthropromorphised/humanified. --- within the context of the world, the pokemon replace the commonraces. Orcs, humans, elves are all now different pokemon people!  the specifics are very general as of now, enough wiggle room for a dm to invent and play around with specific rules. same with magic/spells and how that interacts with a 'typing' system.  Taken eeveelutions: Eevee Sylveon Glaceon Vaporeon Leafeon Available: Umbreon Espeon Flareon Jolteon (the two that arent selected will be missing in the party roster, and will be missing. one of the parties main motivations) SOOOO YEAH! a shot in the dark, sure, but we hope to find folks willing to have a good time!! players and potential DMS welcome!! even if u just have questions, shoot me a dm!!

Undetermined campaign in Phoenix metro

I'm a 35 y/o woman in the Phoenix metro area wondering if there are others interested in D&D, or other TTRPGs? I've played a bit of Numenera and Daggerheart. I can DM, or play, I don't really mind. I'm just trying to make some new friends and have fun. There is a gaming lounge in Chandler I would intend for us to meet at, so be prepared to spend a little money each session to support the establishment. Later on, if everyone is comfortable, I'm also capable of hosting, but this would be so much later on it's not worth discussing at this time. I value my privacy! I have a regular 9-5 so 6 PM on weekdays is good, and I'm more available on weekends. Looking to play weekly or biweekly. I'd like to set up a little discord server for us to chat about the game and whatnot between sessions. I don't have any strong campaign ideas in mind. I have a few odds and ends and things I could get excited about, but I think it's just as much, if not more, fun to get a group together first and figure out what we want to play together. If you're interested, please send me a message with anything you'd like to me to know, and include what kinds of things you think are cool and fun in the context of TTRPG. Thank you!

Need DM: Curse of Strand Campaign

Horror
The game leans into fear, tension and dark themes.
LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
Hey there! I'm looking to set up a Curse of Strahd campaign and I'm in need of a DM to run it! I already have a list of potential players from a reedit post I made, I'm just waiting on a DM before I reach back out to any of them Little bit about me: my name is Psychi (they/them). I'm a goth, queer, disabled TTRPG player who's been playing DnD for just over a decade, and DMing for about a year now. Despite this, I've never been able to play a COS campaign before. It's always been on my list, but I've never had a DM willing to commit to such a long campaign... 😓 Welp, I just moved to portland a bit ago and I'd love to see if anyone was interested in starting a game with me? I'm hoping for a fun, spooky, queer-friendly experience that doesn't shy away from the horror and upsetting nature of the setting I'm flexible on the location, as long as it's in the portland area and easy to get there via public transportation. I'm also flexible about whatever date/time we end up playing because I want to try and find something that fits with everybodies schedules. Pls feel free to reach out if you're interested in DMing for us 😊

Fall of Eight Kingdoms

Adult
The table is for players who are 18 or over.
Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Hello! I’m looking for 1-2 players to join an ongoing Dungeons & Dragons campaign that has been running for about a year. A few members of our original five-player group unfortunately have to step away because of scheduling conflicts, but the campaign itself is continuing and I’m looking for some new people to join the remaining players. System: D&D 5e, primarily the 2014 rules. Elements from the 2024 rules may be allowed at my discretion. Platform: Discord for voice and Foundry for maps/combat. Schedule: Sundays at approximately 8:00 PM EST, usually weekly. We’re fairly understanding about real-life scheduling and would rather postpone occasionally than routinely play with half the party missing. Age: 18+ This is intended to be a long-term campaign. We’ve already been playing for roughly a year, and there is still a great deal of the story and world left to explore. The world is divided among several kingdoms—some held together by uneasy alliances, others separated by generations of hostility. Something is coming that threatens not merely one nation, but potentially the entire known world. The party has spent the campaign slowly uncovering pieces of that larger mystery while becoming involved in conflicts throughout the setting. There are political struggles, ancient ruins, forgotten civilizations, dangerous organizations, supernatural mysteries, and threats ranging from very human enemies to things that should probably have remained forgotten. The campaign travels quite a bit. Depending on where the story goes, you might find yourself investigating a decaying manor, exploring an ancient ruin, navigating the politics of a major city, crossing a desert, sailing the high seas, surviving a haunted castle, or encountering something from beyond the stars that really does not belong in a fantasy world. I try to maintain a balance of roleplay, exploration, mystery, and combat, with a strong emphasis on characters having their own motivations and connections to the world. Because this campaign has already been running for about a year, I’m looking for players who are comfortable joining a story already in progress. You do not need to know a year's worth of lore before playing. I’ll give new players the information they actually need, introduce things naturally, and work with you to make sure your character has a reason to care about what is happening. There is one thing I would specifically like from incoming players: I want to work together on your character's connection to the world. I already have several major locations, NPCs, factions, mysteries, villains, and future storylines established. Some were also connected to characters whose players are now leaving. Rather than simply throwing those plots away, I would like to work with new players to find places where their characters can naturally connect to some of them. That does not mean I’m going to hand you a premade character or tell you what you have to play. Come to me with your own ideas. Race, class, personality, goals, history, etc. can absolutely be yours. What I’m asking is that you be willing to collaborate with me on the details so that your character has at least one meaningful personal connection to something already happening in the campaign. Maybe an established faction wronged your family. Maybe you're searching for someone connected to an existing mystery. Maybe you come from a place the party hasn't reached yet. Maybe one of the campaign's villains has already affected your life without the party knowing it. There are a lot of possibilities, and I'd rather find one that excites both of us than force someone into a predetermined role. Ideally, I want the new characters to eventually feel like they were always part of this world rather than characters who suddenly appeared because we needed more players. I’m looking primarily for players who: Can generally make Sunday games around 8 PM EST Want a long-term campaign rather than a short adventure Enjoy roleplaying and engaging with other player characters Are willing to investigate things and interact with the setting rather than waiting for the DM to push them toward the next objective Are comfortable with serious storylines while still being able to joke around and have fun as a group Are willing to collaborate with me during character creation Understand that joining an established campaign means there will initially be things their character—and they as a player—do not know Want their character's backstory and decisions to actually matter New players and experienced players are both welcome. I’ve been DMing for nearly a decade, and I tend to put a lot into worldbuilding, NPCs, mysteries, and long-term plotlines. Player decisions can significantly change what happens, including things I originally expected the campaign to do. Interested? Send me a message with: Name/nickname/pronouns: Age: Timezone: D&D/TTRPG experience: What do you enjoy most in a D&D campaign? What kind of characters do you usually enjoy playing? How do you feel about joining an established campaign and collaboratively tying your character into existing storylines? Can you normally make Sundays around 8 PM EST? Anything else you'd like me to know about you as a player? You don't need to submit a finished character concept with your application. In fact, I’d prefer to talk first before anyone gets too attached to a particular backstory, because once I know what kinds of characters interest you I can tell you about parts of the setting that might give you some ideas. If you already have a rough concept, though, feel free to include it. The Fall of Eight Kingdoms has already been going for a year. I'm hoping to find a few players who want to be there for the rest of it.

Threshhold: Chapter 4

It's a modern-day D&D campaign largely using 5e/Homebrew game mechanics. A deck of crystal cards suddenly appeared on Earth and give their holders Avatar forms and class abilities. The character dynamic is pretty in depth, I'm essentially running a dating sim, slice of life, along side Dungeons and Dragons. Must be willing to use Discord for chat and DnD Beyond "Maps". We keep everything classy *pinky up*, however this is definitly for 21+ age group if only for comprehension skills. I've taught all 3 of my permanent players as well as integrated and disintegrated many players with varying TTRPG experience. I am a character killer DM, I am also a very good story teller and have SO MUCH MATERIAL. I've read a lot of the Drizzt series and tend reference things (names, items, and places) -- Also a huge Final Fantasy fan. This game will go on regardless of weither everyone joins or no one joins, I'd love to have a few new people though.      A Drow civilization from a magical inner world has discovered Earth, and we're currently trying to stop an invasion. The party just crossed into the Underdark on the way to Agartha. At first, the story was relatively small. A handful of people discovered cards, learned what they could do, trained together, dealt with other Cardholders, and tried to understand why these things had suddenly appeared.      Then everything went to hell. Giant spiders invaded Amherst. The attacks eventually became large enough that the military was fighting openly in the streets, civilians were being evacuated, and the existence of impossible creatures could no longer be completely hidden from the public. The party discovered that the spiders were connected to the Drow, and that Earth isn't the only world humanity needs to worry about. Beneath our world exists Agartha, an enormous magical inner world filled with the races, monsters, civilizations, and magic you'd normally associate with a fantasy setting. Separating Earth from that world is a single passage called the Threshold. And someone on the other side found it. One of the Five Great Drow Houses of Menzoberranzan discovered Earth, creating the possibility of an invasion against a planet that has virtually no natural defenses against magic. Then the Guardian Force cards appeared. A powerful being called Alexander discovered what was happening and cast the Deck through the Threshold, essentially throwing magical weapons into humanity's hands and hoping the people chosen by them could become strong enough to defend Earth. Things escalated again when a cult on Earth summoned a powerful Drow Priestess from another Great House. She killed the holder of the Odin GF card, took Odin for herself, and attacked Amherst alongside a massive spider horde. The party, other Cardholders, Alexander, and the military eventually brought her down. But defeating her exposed a much bigger problem. Alexander recognized her markings. She wasn't from the House already preparing to invade Earth. That means knowledge of Earth may be spreading among the Drow Houses, and if all five learn that an essentially nonmagical world exists beyond the Threshold, Earth could become the prize in a race between them. That's where the campaign is now, nearing the end of chapter 4. The party has crossed the Threshold and entered the Underdark with Alexander. Their goal is to survive a roughly five-day journey around Menzoberranzan, reach the surface of Agartha, and help Alexander find six legendary heroes powerful enough to stand against what may be coming. Meanwhile, other Cardholders remain on Earth, protecting people, recovering GF cards, finding new Cardholders, and preparing humanity for another attack. So new characters have several natural ways to enter the story. You could be an existing Cardholder we've never met, someone who recently discovered a GF card, someone the Earth team recruits, or potentially someone we encounter in Agartha itself.

[DnD 5e][Denton, TX] - DM looking for players for a Homebrew 5e campaign Hey there! I moved to Denton a couple months ago and I'm looking to get a small group together to hang out weekly, play D&D, grab drinks, or play boardgames together. Here's the plan: * **System:** D&D 5e * **Format:** We'll kick off with a short one-shot to get a feel for the group, then move into an ongoing homebrew campaign * **Schedule:** Fridays (starting this week) @ 6pm, Denton, TX biweekly campaign sessions, alternating with biweekly hangout nights (board games, drinks, whatever) so Fridays stay a standing thing either way * **Who:** Guys & gals welcome, never played before? Even better. I'm a newer DM myself, so no pressure to know the rules going in. Just looking to find some post-grad peeps who can commit to a weekly hangout. If that sounds like your kind of Friday, hit me up on here and/or Discord: Chashu293

That isn't to say we are always roleplaying, we just try not to let rules slow things down, and we try to make sure everyone has a good time. Dinner is alo provided! We meet every other saturday at 5:15 pm. Curently we just started Cyberpunk 2020, but we change pretty often. Probably tryng Shadowdark next.

The player starts off in a forest. After ringing a bell they get transported to a different dimension where a ghost traps them. The ghost forces them to sign a contract to do odd jobs for him and now the party is forced to fight for their freedom. I wont go too much further into the story to keep it a suprise but just know that the story ramps up pretty fast and there is a big adventure to be had.:) Pretty leaning into the roleplay, we have combat of course but the campaign is more story and lore focused so yappers are welcome. What I expect is for you to be able to reliably show up every Friday. Looking for players for D&D or Draw Steel

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Newbie friendly
New players are welcome, and nobody expects you to know the rules beforehand.
Looking for players interested in playing D&D 5e or Draw Steel. I've been running D&D for ~10 years but I have not run DS so it might be a learning curve if we choose thatbut we'll get there. I sometimes use minis and props but not always. This is free but you bring the snacks and the motivation. We can decide what kind of game we want to run together.

Hollows of Iparea

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
Hollows of Iparea [Text-based] Pitch: You have arrived on a dying planet with no recollection of how you got there. Something is terribly wrong, that much is certain, and worse yet, the planet itself appears to be living. Thralls of an unintelligible hive mind are the only remnants of intelligent life to be seen, and you see echoes of past civilizations in abandon everywhere around you. Your crashed vessel and memories offer no help, and whatever happened here, your survival may depend on a species you cannot understand. System: 5e legacy Tools: Discord, Owlbear Rodeo (VTT). This is a text campaign, you do not need a mic. D&DBeyond sheets are preferred but any others are allowed. Schedule: Fridays, 5 PM - 7 PM EST. Seats: 6 Expectations Game: Players of all experience levels are allowed, but I ask that beginners have a basic understanding of the game's mechanics and know how to create a character beforehand. My DMs are always open for any questions, comments, or concerns about the game. I ask that players don't use AI for responses or for character art. Flying races and Warforged (they don't exist in the setting) are banned. Rudimentary firearms are a thing, and gunslingers are allowed, but modern firearms and technology do not exist. Homebrew is not allowed for classes, and any other homebrew must be run by me. UA and official WotC material is, of course, allowed. 18+ is preferred, and this game is strictly 16+. Characters start at 5th level. Themes: In a nutshell: semi-sci-fi, high fantasy/cosmic horror. This game's overall themes revolve around memory, identity, and isolation. This game also involves elements of survival horror, and resources will be tracked (and scarce). Tone: Overall surreal, bleak, and atmospheric. Safety Tools: TTRPG Safety Checklist & pre-game interview. You can reach out to me at @paws4reason on Discord.

The Divine Judgment - Homebrew (FREE)

Join us in adventuring into the unknown. The party was transported to a mysterious realm, they have no idea where they are. All they know about this new land is that there is a mad King who will soon be hunting them, and that he needs to be stopped.  What is this land? Will they stop the King? Will they find a way home?

Rebuild a ruined frontier fortress

You're Knights of the Keystone, an old martial order sent where the realm is failing to make it hold. You've just been assigned to the House of Ulgrath: a crumbling chapterhouse on a frontier mostly forgotten by the Order. The roads aren't safe, the walls are failing, the villages are emptying out, and there's a shrine in the cellars nobody wants to explain. Your orders: restore the House, secure the roads, protect the settlements, push outward. How you do it is up to you. What this game is: Human Fighters, Clerics, and Paladins only, starting at level 3. Everyone is a Knight of the same Order. We start as a party, not four strangers in a tavern. Sessions are for the road, the ruins, and whatever lives in them. Exploration, dungeon crawls, tactical fights, and dealing with people who don't trust you yet. The rebuilding happens between sessions, not at the table. Each Knight declares what they're working on, and it shows up on the map. Nobody rolls to repair a road. Gold buys bridges and militia, not just +1 swords. A world that changes. Succeed and a settlement grows outside your walls. Fail and the map gets smaller. Bastion rules once the House is worth calling one. Emergent story, not a plot. I prep situations, factions, and secrets. You decide what happens. A dangerous world with real villains. Not everything is level-appropriate. Sometimes the monster is just a monster. Tone: PG-13. Violence and hard choices, not gore or cruelty for its own sake. We'll do lines and veils at Session Zero, and anything you want off the table stays off it. Looking for: friendly, reliable adults who like exploration, problem-solving, dungeon crawls, tactical decisions, and building something over time. Newer players welcome. Roll20 for maps, Discord for voice/video. Player's Guide (premise, the Order, the Code, character creation, region map): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1loxz6RIv8w1rK4emOIxHOCAECyI8nmgZC8SyILwHhu0/edit?usp=sharing If this sounds like your kind of table, DM me with a bit about yourself, your RPG experience, and what part of the premise grabbed you. I'll set up a short Discord chat with anyone who seems like a fit before sending server invites. Bring a sword. And a shovel.
