The Second Edition, funded on Kickstarter in May 2024 and released in 2025, splits the core rules into a Heroes' Handbook and a Gamemaster's Guide, reworks the nine core classes, monsters and magic items, and is designed to stay fully compatible with first edition books. Description

Players take on heroes tied to the Icons, thirteen archetypal figures of power in a default setting that is meant to be reshaped at the table. The Game Master (GM) runs a story in which the characters' backgrounds and personal ties to the Icons drive the plot as much as the monsters do. Play favors big fights and big gestures over careful dungeon bookkeeping. The game asks a table to be loose with the setting. Players write their own history and invent a trait that has no rules attached, and the GM is expected to fold those into the story. It suits groups who like crunchy d20 combat but would rather invent than look things up.

Hello, I've been playing TTRPGs on and off for about 10 years now. Played with different systems and on different platforms over the years. Don't have a favorite system, willing to learn and try new games (have a preference for fantasy settings). Timezone is CET and should be free on most days of the week in the evening. Thanks.

The storyteller Narrative minimalist
Let’s go on an adventure together! I'm looking for a free, cooperative, consent-based, story-focused TTRPG table. I enjoy character-driven games with party relationships, meaningful combat, exploration, mystery, downtime, and earned emotional moments. Ideal balance: about 40% roleplay, 20% combat, 40% exploration. I like sincere games with humor, but not constant bits, edgelord behavior, or main character syndrome. I fit best with players who share spotlight, cooperate, respect boundaries, and care about everyone’s character mattering. Consent and safety are important to me. Heavy themes, PvP, romance/flirting, sexual content, intense character conflict, or major effects on another PC should be discussed first. Lines and veils should be respected. I’m in Hawaiʻi Time / UTC-10. Weekends are best, and I prefer 2–3 hour sessions. I’m open to voice, PBP, or hybrid formats. Not a good fit for bigotry, disruptive rules-lawyering, non-cooperative play, unconsented PvP/romance/sexual content, trauma dumping, or using RPGs as therapy. Message me on Discord; I’m more responsive there. Please say you saw my Groupfinder post and send a short game pitch. Discord: goldaline

The problem solver Mini-campaign fan
Hey there! I'm a 10-year rpg veteran and 7-year forever GM. Most of my playing experience is with 2014 5e, but I've really enjoyed branching out into all sorts of other games. I think I'm at 12 systems GM'd these days, though I'd love the chance to play in more. I run games professionally on Start Playing (startplaying.games/gm/jacob), but also just for fun, usually in unusual systems. I'm broadly free on Sunday-to-Wednesday evenings (GMT), but only my Thursday evenings are absolute non-starters. I enjoy a little bit of everything but definitely lean most strongly towards narrative, intrigue, problem-solving stuff. I'm not a fan of DnD's slow, attritional combat but I'd be interested to see if other games (Draw Steel, 13th Age, etc) handle this better. I'm a big fan of pulpy historical fiction like Bernard Cornwell's, as well as the Wheel of Time, Dragon Age, and Star Wars. Questionnaire results: Problem Solver, Tone chameleon, Balanced player, Focused & prepared, Backstory architect, Mini-campaign fan

Rules-medium
Woe To The Wicked is a fantasy tabletop roleplaying game about adventurers finding their place in a damaged world and deciding what is worth rebuilding. Explore ruined places, recover supplies, confront dangerous creatures, and navigate the interests of people trying to survive. Begin with a shared Stronghold and build relationships that can lead to greater responsibilities. A repaired road, a rescued person, or a restored workshop can matter as much as winning a fight. The game combines tactical combat, exploration, social encounters, crafting, and character growth through practiced Skills and learned Techniques. Its approach is simple: describe what you want to accomplish, choose your method, and resolve the uncertainty. Playtest materials, a character builder, and guided solo onboarding are available at woetothewickedrpg.com.
