My name is Joshua and my wife's name is Ilaina. We are a married couple parents of two children looking for an online DnD group. We are not too picky about version though it seems like 5e 2024 is best suited for our newbie status. We have some limited experience. A few years back I downloaded digital versions of the rule book and put together a whole world full of religions, gods, factions, cities, supporting characters, villains etc.We played 1 on 1 with me as DM and my wife as a player. However this quickly became unsatisfying. I spent exponentially more hours prepping than we spent playing and my wife being new felt kind of overwhelmed to be essentially making all the decisions on her own. Now we want to get back in. Ideally we would play on weekends but during the week could potentially work too after our older child goes to bed.  We really aren't in a position to pay for sessions, and aren't really interested. While we know the effort required to organize these things isn't small we are moreso looking for a group of online friends and paying for games feels counterproductive to that goal. That doesn't mean we wouldn't necessarily be willing to pitch in on any supplies or resources that could improve the game experience for everyone.
