No politics of any kind: right, left, sexuality, real world religions, excessive feminism/whatever etc not allowed, if you have a need to make a fuss about that, you will be kicked out. It's perfectly fine to have those views, but don't bring them to the game (this is meant to be fun, social, intellectually challenging). If you have major psych problems that get in the way of simple social interaction (explosive outbursts etc) don't contact me. I have been GMing since 1997 or so, cut my gaming teeth on AD&D first ed. I go above and beyond for my players. I am very adept at teaching, btw. Gimme a heads up the day before canceling a game, always be ready to play at least 75% of the game sessions. You gotta make the characters WITH MY DIRECT ASSISTANCE as I make sure they fit with the group and campaigns, plus I give out extra benefits. No twinks (must have absolute power immediately types), but I will assist you with the math to make a potent PC as possible. Lots of stupid puns and jokes. My campaigns tend to be accidentally lethal, and my NPC's tend to react within the bounds of their Intelligence scores, and ruthlessly so. I poke players into beefing up their defenses in the low levels (in between game sessions), and I am adept at teaching, I value intelligence and wisdom in a player. I have no problem with potent PC's, so long as they play well with others and make sense. I tend to be very helpful in between game sessions, giving as much relevant info as possible without spoiling the plot, with less info for veteran players. Quite military friendly, as my NPCs tend to react realistically and tactically. I am extremely good at teaching, not just game mechanics but also tactics, even interaction with fellow players. During game sessions, I play all my NPC's to the hilt, so if they are actively trying to kill your PC, that's how it is. I rarely fudge dice results, when I do it's for drama's sake, trying to make the game exciting and interesting. Vampire has difficult to make characters, as it demands more thought. However the game play dice mechanics/rules are easy as heck. The hard part is that it demands more forethought to play, because there's a lot of deceptive NPCs, including your own. It is oddly more ethical/moral than medieval fantasy games by far, even though you don't play a hero normally, and even though you're a vampire feeding on humans and aren't human yourself. It's darker I suppose, lots of intrigue and figuring out what is really going on. Kinda like watching Babylon 5 or Dune, you have to take notes to recall everything that could be vital later. A LOT less combat than medieval fantasy games! It's rare, but nasty when it does occur. Maturity is advised. The modern day core rulebook is the one you want to spend time reading for the lore, but dark ages will have the discipline dice mechanics. Also, the Book of Nod will feature in the campaign. VERY DETAILED homebrew campaign that can be changed if you do exactly the right things at the right time, you will want to take notes to refer to later on, no exaggeration. RIght now they are in late 1989, you will get their average xp to start with. You even get free generation if I can find a sire, an extra dot of disciplines, and 5 extra freebie plus 2 merits (Potent Aura, Common Sense/1 dot of Status). I give free Generation if you take from the official list. This can vary wildly based on what the two of us come up with (you dictate the parameters, I figure out how to make the mechanics do what you want and tell you about potential problems, and I pick out flaws so as to give you your own story arc). If you take from the Obscure list, you can buy your generation to 7th if you blow 6 background points on it.  Still gotta pick up Mentor for your sire, though.    I had to make tiny changes to V20 to make it simpler, faster. Like Celerity, Fortitude, Potence. Also I don't use crap like Awareness, Larceny, and I kept the damn Linguistics skill as it is needed. That kind of thing. I even have combat rounds with meaningful character speed when I gotta be aware of the local terrain/number of villains etc. The Giovanni I replaced with Cappadocians and Lamia, as the Giovanni were megalomaniacs and incompetent besides, plus they don't seem to be at all relevant to any setting. The Ravnos I replaced as being totally divorced from the rest of the game, they don't have any influence, and seem to exist solely for troublemaking players. So, they got booted in favor of the Salubri, who actually ARE useful. Finally, I outright replaced all Setites with Baali, the latter are a much better written, and much more competent version of the Setites' Lovecraftian "I wanna bring demons into the world" schtick.  I noticed that if you played the Sabbat as written, they'd be wiped out entirely by werewolves, human hunters, and the Camarilla long ago. Worse, if they somehow managed to survive, they'd be discovered as vampires by humanity BECAUSE of their silly anti masquerade antics. On top of that, eating one's elders is a bad idea. All the Sabbat had was neonates and super buff elders, nothing in between. That means their stated purpose was a shambles. I changed their purpose to (eliminating the focus on fighting clan founders) dominating humanity, making humans into slaves. The Black Hand has been subsumed into the Sabbat as a whole. Official list of clans/bloodlines you can take in Chicago compatible with the group as it is: Nosferatu (must take Dark Fate flaw), Toreador, Ventrue, Brujah, Gangrel(Sabbat), Malkavian, City Gangrel (Camarilla), Tzimisce, Gargoyle, Caitiff (Anarch typically), Assamite (Sabbat) Obscure list (you can take them if you want, but you won't have support from fellow clan members in Chicago): Salubri (Warrior and very Camarilla), True Brujah. Caitiff are interesting, I made them able to teach ANY discipline they learn; normally the 13 clans can only teach their clan disciplines. A Tzimisce who goes Camarilla eventually has huge story potential, and could aid the group extensively via Vicissitude 2, Koldunism (need a level 3 ritual late in the campaign), and Animalism to hose over werewolves and aid the party vs frenzy. A Tremere is possible, but you'd need to be a diehard Anarch (meaning the local Tremere want your keister dead). Got a Cappadocian (a hospital morgue doctor), Salubri (one healer(an FBI agent), one watcher (a homicide police detective), and Lasombra (an amateur boxer and criminal lawyer, he wants to go Camarilla), and the new player took a Lamia with clan access to Celerity as well, she's a former archaeology student. There, joining an organized crime family offers the denizens, what is often, their best shot at surviving another day.  Join a criminal family and try to escape the demonic entities ferrying characters to the realm of the Creature King... I have been invited to run "Train of The Damned" at Anime Central this weekend in Rosemont (Chicagoland), Illinois. If you will be attending the convention, consider reserving your spot at the table! This session will be held in the gaming area and you'll need a convention badge! The adventure is part of a larger Zine that I am producing as a supplement for MB titled, "Verdammt." It will run similarly to a more classically stylized OSR with deadly twists and combat lurking around each corner. Players can create their own characters or utilize an assortment of premade characters as they attempt to survive the "Great Cleanse" in the slums beneath the isolated kingdom of Kragzuul. I've been GMing for three years now, with a recent focus on running Shadowdark and Mörk Borg adventures. And now, I am very much looking forward to sharing this adventure in a convention setting. NOTE: Mörk Borg lends itself to dark, atmospheric, and gothic scenes that are not for everyone, and this one-shot in particular, features significant narrative death that usually leads to graphic language while roleplaying. For a quick rundown of current campaign settings I have in mind: - An Occult Noir-style game set in a demiplane where the various warlock patrons of 5e are more akin to powerful mob families and gangs. The party will be a  ragtag group of assistants and associates to a rather (in)famous private investigator. The group will have to walk the tightrope between the temperamental factions as they aim to solve a murder that their boss couldn't solve, their own. - An Interstellar Space Opera set in a brand new frontier of space that has only recently been made accessible to the wider galaxy. The group will be playing as a very underqualified, undertrained, and outgunned delivery crew in a beaten-down spaceship held together by hopes and dreams. It's up to the group to make their deliveries to the bustling new worlds and colonies of the sector while contending with dangers ranging from new and hostile fauna to pirates looking to make use of the hyperlanes as abundant hunting grounds. - A Science-Fantasy campaign set in a world akin to other settings like Eberron. The world will be one that has been marked by the coming and goings of many ages leaving behind an odd mish-mash of a setting that will have the classic staples of high fantasy but also with some more scifi elements Leaving the door open for things like players with access to things like mini mech suits that have been made using the combiantion of tech and magic or flintlocks that use arcane powder to use spells in cruder and more unrefined ways. This campaign will be weekly or bi-weekly on Fridays at 6pm CST, but these details are definitely negotiable once we have more people in and we can plan our sessions better. Brief Description of setting: General vibe has fun daftness of a mostly at sea adventure set in a high fantasy homebrew world with some modest Lovecraftian cosmic horror aspects on serious story details while also taking some mild inspiration from Ebberon, and various comic/anime nods. Setting is based in a world with odd occurrences of rifts to various planes, usually dangerous but somewhat controlled in parts. It is a more exotic race/species friendly world, so not human or preferably not human-esk or commonly used fitting in types. In its origin and in the present some of the average in power common races would be Dragonborn, Drow, Varied Genasi, Tiefling of many coloration and minor mix, Goblinoids, Kobold, and various more animal related folk. I do play in some personalised design flavour with such eg: an aarakocra may be designed to be like a bluejay, robin or cardinal. Other bigger world history topics enlightening more to the lack of human populace, cosmic phenomenon and certain hostilities/indifferences between other types of species can be discussed. I try to make good use of character backgrounds and their species connections to world to fuel story, adding and altering as things evolve. On going Party: Water Genasi Warlock- making up for Deep sea cultist history. Kalashtar (Differently designed in origin via other species mix) Blood hunter - dealing with corrupted memory and past related to kidnapping. Fairy Bard - consciousness escaped from a variant of the deck of many Void card and found her body remains minimal in a clockwork toy. Story in motion: The group of female adventurers began on the docks of a central city of my own homebrew world with former players who each had life causes need for taking leave though still their characters are regarded as npc in story. The group has since made their way on seas with strange encounters and new understandings of phenomena linking them. When venturing on the ocean floor after backstory relevant face offs and timeline altering's the group gradually bonded further before having to take on a mission off world in aid of a friend's plight. When the game is:  Fortnightly Sunday eves 5 till 10, start and end is likely a bit in ways of player chatter and ease on to timing of game if we get straight in may end early at time, but either way we usually have mini break. Hazecrux is a city where myth and legend walk the streets alongside ordinary people—and most never notice. The Mist hides the strangeness from the Sleepers, shrouding the mythic in the mundane. A knight in shining armor might pass by unnoticed, save for the regard one might give someone decked out in riot gear and a shock baton, which they see instead of steel armor and sword. When reality becomes too strange to explain, the Mist can fail, though it usually smooths over memories and fills in the blanks later. People forget the strange and remember what happened. But some can see through the Mist; those who have awakened as Rifts can see the world as it is. They are individuals touched by myths and stories. Tales that live through them and seek to guide their lives. These legends grant incredible supernatural abilities, but come with the cost of the lives of those who carry them. The more power a Rift embraces, the closer they come to becoming nothing more than an avatar of the thing itself. Of course, the city itself has a history and a story, and that has not always been peaceful. Many years ago, a disaster known as the Calamity shattered the city that was. During the chaos, the Original Overseer unveiled his plan and sent everyone to the safety of bunks built beneath the city in the Understead. He apparently did not predict that the legendary hero Excelsior would return from the dead and turn on the city itself; A city he once saved. An entire bunkers of civilians were slaughtered before a single luchador from El Distro finally defeated him. Since then, masked luchadores have become the city’s champions, filling the void left when the once-celebrated Guild of Superheroes collapsed due to their siding with their returned leader. After the Calamity, the Overseer vanished. His successor was Tina Bellows, the woman who saved his life from the attack of Excelsior, and was broken in the process. She now runs the city more openly. Unlike her predecessor, even Sleepers know her name. Not all are happy with her rule. A young man Zander Tombs has become a rising voice challenging her rule. He claims she was never meant for the job, and calls for liberation and rebellion. Tina counters that his message should carry little weight as his father, Adrian Tombs, is a known criminal rumored to control much of the city’s criminal underworld. Though Zander seems to be in possession of a mostly functional spaceship. This massive craft looms over the city skyline. Even the Sleepers have begun to notice the strange ship in the sky or shuttles coming from it, sweeping into the city. This campaign focuses on mystery and character drama. Players will investigate conspiracies and decide how their characters fit into the growing conflict. This game is ideal for players who enjoy roleplay-heavy storytelling.

"Destruction brought on by the return of the Cult of the Dragon in the mainland spurred explorers to voyage to unknown lands to seek safety, and so 20 years ago the untamed continent of Thindol was discovered, it being named after Sir Thindol, an Elven fisherman from Neverwinter. Dry and covered in deserts and savannas, settlements began to pop up across the barren coastline, the most notable being the city of Thindar, built around an obelisk made of black rock. For a time peace was the norm of the new world, that was until settlers began to encounter the native Yuan-Ti of the continent. At first, peace was attempted, but after several failed attempts of brokering peace, war erupted between the Yuan-Ti and the settlers. War has wrought blood across the new world, and there seems to be no sign of it stopping any time soon, with the emperor of the Yuan-Ti, Aten, refusing any stop to the war. Desperate to stop the war and quickly running out of manpower, the capital city of Thindar has sent out the call for aid, its mayor, Ryder Lionmane, personally travelling to the city of Waterdeep to recruit adventurers willing to travel to the new world. No one knows if this is a regular old demonic possession or if there's something more sinister at hand, but one thing is for sure... No one is safe tonight. Character Options Prudence: A pious 18yo single girl. She has straight strands of straw colored hair, a pale complexion, and eyes the color of the sun at dawn. Having been raised in Raptio all her life, she's dying to get out and see the world she's read about in her books and scriptures. Joseph: A hardworking 24yo single man. He has brown auburn tufts of hair, a strong, tanned body, and eyes like the midday sky. He was born and raised in Raptio Peak and dreams to someday see his grandchildren running along the plains of green grass he planted and tended. Nike: A determined 53yo divorced woman. She has loose strands of salt and pepper hair, a toned, fit figure for her age, and eyes cold and black as the ocean. She has explored the better half of the Midwest and has decided to settle down here. She says it's because she can see the sunrise from where she lives. Winchester: An easygoing 40yo businessman. With a gleaming bald scalp, a rotund body, and a tiny, beady eyes, he's looks like a very stereotypical wealthy man. He's on a business trip and decided to stop in this town for the night, the night before the train broke down. There may or may not be secret info about the characters and their motivations depending on who you choose Specific kinks that might appear in universe: Futanari, Gender Swap both ways, Musk, Pheromones, Non-con, Eldritch horrors, tentacles, mind control, pegging, chastity, whatever looking down on a woman because she's old is called, orgasm control and denial.  Specific kinks that will not be there: Snuff, Scat, Watersports, Bestiality, Gore, fucking dead bodies and everything under those umbrellas.  If something's hot, I'm probably gonna do it, but those are the guidelines on kinky stuff. The World Mioridask is a world made and defined by dragons. Its societies are split into those that worship dragons for their protection and benevolence, and those who believe in the freedom of individuals. Both sides fight for their beliefs, and kingdoms rise or fall out of pettiness and determination from either side. You, however, are no king. Not a peasant anymore either. By the end of the campaign, you are hopefully a hero. The Campaign The tone of the campaign is generally light-hearted, but there will be serious and tragic events as well. While I incorporate mature themes into my storytelling, this won't devolve into a gore or smut fest. I‘m planning to run a story where you are the good guys, the hero in this draconian system. The campaign will follow a linear storytelling. That means that I have a story in mind that I want to tell with you, which will incorporate your character‘s background as well. How you reach your goal is up to you, but I, as the DM, will determine what the goal is. I‘ve tried sandbox-style campaigns before and found that I don‘t enjoy them (and am also not good at running them). Your choices WILL matter, but if your choice is to rob a bank when the quest is to protect a village, then the group will choose that you aren‘t a good fit. The split between combat and roleplay will be 40/60. Exploration will sometimes take place but won’t be the focus. We’ll play over Discord and use Foundry for battlemaps and rolls. Cams are encouraged but not enforced or required. We'll start at lvl 1 and go all the way to 15. Possibly followed by some one-shot style adventures post main story to level 20. The Hook You‘ll start in the territory of the „Tribes of Stone“, a desert where most people live underground to escape the burning heat and dangerous monsters that hide in the sand. Access to magic here is rare, so when a merchant‘s delivery, which includes a spell scroll, gets lost on its way to the capital, he hires you to retrieve the wares. This mission is part of a 2-3 shot we‘ll use to get comfortable with each other and determine if the players and DM (me) work as a D&D group. This quest will then lead into the main campaign. Let me tell you my story I am a 26M native from France, and an amateur GM (1 year of experience), and I started not so long ago my own party of TTRPG in english since I got lot more time to consacre to it. About the world: We'll be playing in a world called Alver on the continent of Kronland. This is a heavily Nordic-inspired world. Imagine what the late Middle Ages and Renaissance in Europe would have looked and felt like if the Vikings had become the dominant influence rather than Christianity. At the same time, there would still be distinct kingdoms with their own cultures, fashions, and styles. Norse mythology is deeply ingrained in the world.  The lore is inspired by Nordic mythology, but it is NOT Nordic mythology. It's a full-on pantheon and history I created. Some stuff will align and match, but much will not.  The continent is vast, and thus, the distance between cities, villages, and civilizations is such that the world varies greatly, from areas with rare magic and supernatural elements to cosmopolitan cities with mixed races, magic, and wonder. The game is designed to strike a balance between drama, grim humor, and epic adventure. It's not just grimdark or silly - it'll be a mix of all. One day ago, the railroad shut down. One hour ago, a strange, bare chested woman was seen blowing a horn before riding off into the night. One second ago, the town church burst into flames in the middle of service. No one knows if this is a regular old demonic possession or if there's something more sinister at hand, but one thing is for sure... No one is safe tonight. Character Options Prudence: A pious 18yo single girl. She has straight strands of straw colored hair, a pale complexion, and eyes the color of the sun at dawn. Having been raised in Raptio all her life, she's dying to get out and see the world she's read about in her books and scriptures. Joseph: A hardworking 24yo single man. He has brown auburn tufts of hair, a strong, tanned body, and eyes like the midday sky. He was born and raised in Raptio Peak and dreams to someday see his grandchildren running along the plains of green grass he planted and tended. Nike: A determined 53yo divorced woman. She has loose strands of salt and pepper hair, a toned, fit figure for her age, and eyes cold and black as the ocean. She has explored the better half of the Midwest and has decided to settle down here. She says it's because she can see the sunrise from where she lives. Winchester: An easygoing 40yo businessman. With a gleaming bald scalp, a rotund body, and a tiny, beady eyes, he's looks like a very stereotypical wealthy man. He's on a business trip and decided to stop in this town for the night, the night before the train broke down. There may or may not be secret info about the characters and their motivations depending on who you choose Specific kinks that might appear in universe: Futanari, Gender Swap both ways, Musk, Pheromones, Non-con, Eldritch horrors, tentacles, mind control, pegging, chastity, whatever looking down on a woman because she's old is called, orgasm control and denial.  Specific kinks that will not be there: Snuff, Scat, Watersports, Bestiality, Gore, fucking dead bodies and everything under those umbrellas.  If something's hot, I'm probably gonna do it, but those are the guidelines on kinky stuff. Vibe: Grimdark, high fantasy, found family, dungeon crawl I'm looking for players who enjoy the tension of resource management and clever problem-solving over "face-tanking" monsters. Tone: I'm not going to say the tone will be intentionally comedic or serious, as I can understand that it can be difficult for people to successfully pull off either, so it's going to be more of a playing be ear of seeing what players I get and seeing where it goes, and hopefully having those funny or serious moments come organically rather than intentionally. DM Style: I'm aiming for something very RP heavy. Low on combat. I'll try to make combat's more like puzzles that you can solve almost instantly rather than health bars you have to chip away at. If an entire session is just the players and NPC's talking to each other, and they've barely moved from where they started, I would consider that a perfect session. I saw this system on Dungeons & Daddies and became intrigued by the "classic" toned down vibe. Anyone interest in a biweekly EST Friday evening game of rogue trader? With like 4-6 players. Played on Roll20, since I know it best. Discord for threads and comms. Basically the PCs will own/be command staff on a huge starship with like 80k crew members. It’s a city in space. So big it will have two active alien invasions on board that have been ongoing on for generations within the lower decks. The party will have a warrant granted to them that says whatever they can claim (and hold onto) in a distant expanse of the milkyway they can keep. That means solar-systems, planets, populations, resources and riches. A star barony that they can pretty much run however they want or can all agree upon. As long as they pay their tithes/taxes to the Imperium. Races for PCs are pretty wide open. I’d allow an ork (probably a merc working for gear and teef). An aeldari (space elves), a grot could be fun. A farseer Tau firewarrior with a stealth battle suit. Kroot or ogryn is on the table. The rogue trader and navigator would have to be “human”, but the rest of the crew im open. The system uses percentile dice. Not my fav but we’ll make due. The themes in the game can be pretty heavy. Think of a bad thing in RL and there are races/planets/gods doing all that and probably more. We’ll steer clear of the absolute worst of it, but just a heads up it’s a very adult game. I would personally like to see the game run iconoclast with dabblings into imperial dogma and chaos heresy. id like to see the party try to help people/xenos of the expanse more than enslave/destroy them. Unless they leave you no choice that is then dakka-dakka away. A focus on power-building self-interest over extremist ideals. Intro to Terra If you’re coming from Faerûn, think of Terra as a vast continent that used to feel like one big, functioning empire. A tradition of feudalism, with noble "High Lord" houses ruling over their regions. All offering allegiance to a central authority, the most powerful noble house, Arista, and crowned it's leader as the First Lord. So the Legend Goes At the dawn of this world, the Gods watched our people struggle to survive in an unforgiving world - Early settlements decimated by violent storms. Explorers slaughtered by ferocious beasts. To have a chance at survival, these benevolent Gods gifted the lands with powerful spirits. And for the inhabitants, an ability to bond with these spirits. As these lands were conquered, creatures brought over were quickly surpassed by Humans, who found they could tame and even command these spirits. All playable characters at this time will be Humans. Most classes are workable, though the system really lends itself to Martials/Half-Casters. I would highly recommend using one of those. I'm not a major Rules Lawyer, big believer in Rule-of-Cool and being adaptable. Improvising and leaning into the roleplay is where the magic happens. There will challenging, purposeful combat but not a meat-grinder style of a campaign. Getting the right dynamic is very important to me, so will definitely be intentional. The road to earning your place among Gloranthas legendary heroes will not be an easy, or quick one, but it will be a fun one. In terms of game structure it will be less of one singular long plot and more several isolated 2-5 session adventures, with a healthy cast of recurring NPC's, and lots of player backstory content mixed in. Hello! We are a tight-knit group of 6 very experienced D&D Players who are looking for a DM to run the module Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen! We are wanting to play on Thursdays from 3pm-7pm CDT (GMT-5). There may be some wiggle room but we are pretty set on this as its the consensus that had been reached for 6 people, a feat already hard enough as it is. We intend to use Roll20 as our VTT and Discord for voice. Hello everyone! My name is Beau, I'm 27, FtM, and use he/they pronouns. I'm looking to run a homebrew DND5E campaign in person for 5-6 players. I am more than okay with new players and happy to teach what I know, since I’ve been playing for almost ten years now! I've been a DM before and used the same campaign setting; I loved it but never got to finish due to scheduling issues.  What I’m looking for: 5-6 players, LGBTQ friendly is a MUST (you don’t need to be in the community, just an ally), 21 years or older, any skill level, any gender. Homebrew races and classes are allowed so long as they’re run by me first. We will be starting at level 5, multiclassing is allowed! Location/Time: Phoenix, AZ. Will be held at Gamer’s Guild in the Phoenix location every other Saturday, time TBD but in the afternoon/evening. No-Gos: Under 18 years old are absolutely not permitted. Between 18 and 21 may be considered based on needs and comfort of the group, but it makes me personally uncomfortable because of the age gap.  -Any harassment of or fighting out of character with other players will be grounds for removal.  -Consent is key - Flirting in character is fine, so long as everyone is comfortable with it. No means no. Adult, questionable, and/or steamy scenes will fade to black at the table, but outside roleplay is welcome between players. -Due to a deeply ingrained piece of lore and several plot lines, players are restricted from playing any Underdark races. The Setting: high fantasy, high magic world with multiple developed countries/nations including their own lore, laws, and demographics. Much of this campaign will take place in a region that’s been heavily magically altered and even corrupted. Though most regions are a melting pot of all races, many originate from one location or another, so the race you play may determine where your character was born or where they have family. Legends say that there used to be dragons just roaming about, living peacefully amongst mortal races, seen flying overhead on the daily. But for around 500 years, true dragon sightings have been a rarity, and only the golden dragon has been spotted in that time. The Plot: For as long as even the eldest elves can remember, Ipica has been split into three regions, each stuck in a separate time and space. And for just as long, scholars have tracked the slow creep of corruption twisting the eastern shores of the land. There’s historical writings of something called the World Tree hidden deep within Eastern Ipica - could it be involved somehow? Now that the crawling, strangling vines and chilling shadows have reached the edges of major and minor cities alike, local and national governments have decided that something needs to be done about it. But legislators aren’t equipped to run into what used to be wild fae land and is now something much more confusing and unknown - that’s where our adventurers come in. Trekking through bone-chilling lands populated by things seen just out of the corner of your eye, fighting previously unimagined horrors and keeping each other alive in the dark winter of Eastern Ipica… It all takes incredible skill and trust in your fellow man. They'll cross through strange lands, become embroiled in quests of earth-shaking importance, meet strange and wondrous people and most of all, become who they were meant to be. Think Frieren, Witch Hat Atelier, Name of the Wind, or the video game Wildermyth if you want an idea of the aesthetic inspirations. The story will begin in the sleepy town of Drecorshire, a rustic village out in the woods that's about to have a very, very strange visitor pass through. As for where it'll go from there... well, you don't want me to spoil the surprise! A bit about myself: I'm 28 years old, he/him, and I'm an author and game writer with over a decade of DM experience, most of it online. I've run a variety of systems, from good old 5e to Pathfinder to WoD to PTBA to Godbound to Cain to Blades in the Dark and so on. I love storytelling and worldbuilding and collaborating with players to tell long, emotional and intensive stories that surprise and delight us all. For this game, we'll be running Legend in the Mist, a fiction-first fantasy roleplaying game that focuses on the use of Tags to allow players to define their characters and capabilities. This system allows for really robust and detailed character customization and I'm so excited to see what people come up with it! If you've never played it before, that's totally fine. We'll all learn together. We'll be using Roll20 for rolls and character sheets, and discord for voice chat. Rules and Other Things in a Handy Itemized List: We will be meeting weekly at 8pm EST on Tuesdays, and will usually be playing for about 2 and a half to three hours. This is, unfortunately, non-negotiable. If one player is missing from a session, we will play anyway. If two or more are missing, we cancel for that week. Normally I operate on a three-strike rule for no-call no shows, but I reserve the right to give people the boot earlier than that if there's a pattern of disrespect for the other players' time. I run long games that meet consistently, and I'm able to do that because I'm kind of ruthless about this stuff. All player characters will start the game as more or less ordinary humans, though there's a little wiggle room for 'human with some innate mystical characteristics' if you want. If you find that limiting, I understand, but I would also offer for your consideration that all the most interesting people I've ever met are humans, and you are too. Player characters will begin the campaign as fairly mundane people, not seasoned warriors or adventurers - think farm boys, amateur alchemists, petty conjurers, hedge squires, good women of the woods, noble's daughters run away in search of adventure, that sort of thing. That's not to say they can't be older or have seen a thing or two, only that they ought to have room to grow. More information about the world will be forthcoming, but for now you can consider it to be a very hazy, vibes-based big tent fantasy setting with quite a lot in it. I love incorporating player ideas into my worldbuilding, so as you consider your character, brainstorm away! Be creative! (Within the bounds of the rules above established, natch.) I'm really nice. That's not really a rule, I just wanted to get it in there, I pride myself on being a very chill, calm and approachable person.
