Description

[Time]: Wednesdays  ~ 7:30 PM - 3 Hours Maximum [Platform]: Foundry/Discord [Requirements]: Mic/Discord/Foundry [Summary]:  Please read before applying This game is gonna be set in a late 90s inspired world, like small town America with dial-up internet, payphones, old TVs, arcades, grocery stores, that kind of vibe. It starts off really normal, like everyday life, but then high magic stuff starts leaking into the world and everything slowly changes. It’s not full fantasy at the start. No castles or dragons walking around yet. Just regular people dealing with weird stuff that shouldn’t exist. Races and Classes are limited. For ancesteries you can pick Human, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, or Halfling or Nephilim but here’s the important part: everyone is still basically human. There aren’t different species walking around. The race you pick is more like how the weird magic in the world affected you. So a “dwarf” is just a tougher, denser person. An “elf” is someone quicker and more perceptive. It’s flavor and mechanics, not actual fantasy races living in town. So yeah, the idea is you all start as normal people with normal jobs, in a normal place, and then things start going very wrong. Session 1 is about surviving that first night and figuring out what kind of person your character really is when stuff hits the fan. After that, we’ll move into the real campaign. The full list of job backgrounds available will be at the end,. ----------------- Character Creation Restrictions: Level: 1 Backgrounds: List Below Ancestries: ONLY Human, Dwarf, Elf, Gnome, Halfling, Nephilim, Half-Elf, Half-Orc Classes: ONLY Barbarian, Fighter, Gunslinger, Investigator, Kineticist, Monk, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer (Arcane or Primal) -------------------- Why the Class and Ancestry Restrictions? Magic in this setting is brand new to the world. It hasn’t existed for thousands of years like in normal Pathfinder settings. The Surge is the first time anything like this has ever happened, so there are no wizard schools, ancient spell traditions, or established churches granting divine powers. People are only just starting to experience strange abilities, and no one fully understands what’s going on yet. Because of that, only classes that rely on physical skill or instinctive magic are available at the start. Anything that would normally require long-standing magical traditions, divine relationships, or secret occult knowledge simply doesn’t exist yet in the world. The ancestry limits work the same way. There aren’t different fantasy species living together. Everyone is still human. The ancestry you choose just represents how the Surge changed your body or mind in subtle ways, giving you different traits or instincts. It’s more about how the magic affected you than what race you are. ------ BACKGROUNDS AVAILABLE: Accountant | Boosts: Intelligence or Wisdom | Skill: Society | Feat: Eye for Numbers Arcade Attendant | Boosts: Dexterity or Charisma | Skill: Society | Feat: Eye for Numbers Auto Mechanic | Boosts: Strength or Intelligence | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Specialty Crafting (mechanical) Bank Teller | Boosts: Charisma or Intelligence | Skill: Society | Feat: Eye for Numbers Building Custodian | Boosts: Constitution or Strength | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Hefty Hauler Carpenter | Boosts: Strength or Dexterity | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Specialty Crafting (wood) Childcare Worker | Boosts: Wisdom or Charisma | Skill: Diplomacy | Feat: Group Impression Diner Cook | Boosts: Constitution or Wisdom | Skill: Survival | Feat: Forager Electrician | Boosts: Intelligence or Dexterity | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Quick Repair EMT / First Responder | Boosts: Wisdom or Constitution | Skill: Medicine | Feat: Battle Medicine Factory Worker | Boosts: Constitution or Strength | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Endurance Farmer | Boosts: Constitution or Wisdom | Skill: Nature | Feat: Forager Feed Store Clerk | Boosts: Charisma or Wisdom | Skill: Diplomacy | Feat: Bargain Hunter Fence Installer | Boosts: Strength or Constitution | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Hefty Hauler Flea Market Vendor | Boosts: Charisma or Dexterity | Skill: Diplomacy | Feat: Bargain Hunter Gas Station Attendant | Boosts: Dexterity or Charisma | Skill: Society | Feat: Streetwise Grain Elevator Operator | Boosts: Strength or Intelligence | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Hefty Hauler Grocery Store Clerk | Boosts: Charisma or Wisdom | Skill: Diplomacy | Feat: Group Impression Groundskeeper | Boosts: Constitution or Wisdom | Skill: Nature | Feat: Forager Gym Teacher | Boosts: Strength or Dexterity | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Quick Jump Hairdresser / Barber | Boosts: Dexterity or Charisma | Skill: Diplomacy | Feat: Impressive Performance Hardware Store Employee | Boosts: Strength or Intelligence | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Specialty Crafting (tools) Irrigation Technician | Boosts: Intelligence or Wisdom | Skill: Nature | Feat: Terrain Expertise (plains) Lifeguard | Boosts: Strength or Dexterity | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Quick Jump Local Radio Host | Boosts: Charisma or Intelligence | Skill: Performance | Feat: Impressive Performance Motel Housekeeper | Boosts: Constitution or Dexterity | Skill: Stealth | Feat: Terrain Stalker (urban) Newspaper Reporter | Boosts: Intelligence or Charisma | Skill: Society | Feat: Streetwise Nurse’s Aide | Boosts: Wisdom or Constitution | Skill: Medicine | Feat: Battle Medicine Pest Control Worker | Boosts: Dexterity or Wisdom | Skill: Survival | Feat: Terrain Stalker (plains) Photographer | Boosts: Dexterity or Intelligence | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Specialty Crafting (visual) Physical Therapist Assistant | Boosts: Wisdom or Strength | Skill: Medicine | Feat: Continual Recovery Plumber | Boosts: Strength or Wisdom | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Quick Repair Police Officer | Boosts: Strength or Wisdom | Skill: Intimidation | Feat: Intimidating Glare Postal Worker | Boosts: Constitution or Wisdom | Skill: Survival | Feat: Forager Ranch Hand | Boosts: Strength or Constitution | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Hefty Hauler Radio Repair Technician | Boosts: Intelligence or Dexterity | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Specialty Crafting (electronics) Real Estate Clerk | Boosts: Charisma or Intelligence | Skill: Diplomacy | Feat: Bargain Hunter School Bus Driver | Boosts: Constitution or Wisdom | Skill: Perception | Feat: Eye for Detail School Janitor | Boosts: Constitution or Strength | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Hefty Hauler Science Teacher | Boosts: Intelligence or Wisdom | Skill: Nature | Feat: Natural Medicine Tattoo Artist | Boosts: Dexterity or Charisma | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Specialty Crafting (art) Tractor Mechanic | Boosts: Strength or Intelligence | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Quick Repair Truck Driver | Boosts: Constitution or Wisdom | Skill: Survival | Feat: Forager Used Car Salesperson | Boosts: Charisma or Intelligence | Skill: Deception | Feat: Charming Liar Utility Line Worker | Boosts: Strength or Dexterity | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Quick Jump Veterinarian Assistant | Boosts: Wisdom or Intelligence | Skill: Medicine | Feat: Risky Surgery Video Rental Clerk | Boosts: Intelligence or Charisma | Skill: Society | Feat: Assurance (Society) Volunteer Firefighter | Boosts: Strength or Constitution | Skill: Athletics | Feat: Titan Wrestler Waitress / Waiter | Boosts: Charisma or Constitution | Skill: Diplomacy | Feat: Hobnobber Welder | Boosts: Strength or Constitution | Skill: Crafting | Feat: Specialty Crafting (metal) If you’ve got another job idea that isn’t on the list, feel free to ask. As long as it fits a normal late-90s small-town role, I’m probably cool with it. We can figure out the boosts, skill, and feat together. --------------------- APPLICATIONS For applications, please DM me your answers to the questions below. It helps a lot if you keep the questions in your message so I can reference them later. -- Out of Character Preferred Name: Age: Pronouns: Timezone: Experience with PF2e or TTRPGs: What kind of playstyle do you enjoy most? (roleplay, combat, exploration, mix, etc.) Anything you absolutely don’t want in a game? Character Basics Character Name: Age: Job/Background: Ancestry: Which class are you planning for after Session 1? In Character Questions Where in or around town do you live? What is your home like? Apartment, trailer, farmhouse, room above a store, etc. What do you do for work, and how do you feel about it? Is it your dream job, or just something to pay the bills? Who in town matters most to you? Friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, etc. What is something you’re proud of? Could be small or personal. What is something you regret? A mistake, missed opportunity, or bad decision. What is your biggest fear right now? Not a fantasy monster If things keep getting worse, what would you be willing to do to survive? What is your favorite place in town? Who in town do you not get along with, and why? ------- I’ll be collecting applications over the next little while and will get back to people once I feel the group is filled with like-minded players. Please be patient, as I like to take my time and be a bit discerning so we end up with a cohesive group that works well together. ----------------- ‼️ I’ve received plenty of applications for frontliners and magic-focused characters, but there’s still room for someone who enjoys playing a skill-focused hero.

Got a group you have been a forever DM for? Want to step back into the roll of a player? Bring your players and yourself over - let me take over the heavy lifting and join in a long term epic campaign... and take notes for me :) System: PF2e Slots: 3-4 (ideally I would join YOUR group that just needs a DM and has played together for a long time already and just want a new DM) Requirements: 25+ age, no PF2e experience required, but you should have TTRPG experience to know what kind of player you are and what you enjoy (I don't mind new players, I just want more of actors and you won't know what you are until you play) Time and Frequency: weekly (evenings, I am CST), Sunday nights ideally Platforms: Discord and Foundry Details: Come explore and experience the world of Aurelia - an epic fantasy world and story broken up into 4 stand alone seasons, ultimately taking you from level 1 to level 20 over the course of several years (each season is ~6 levels and takes 6-12 months). The campaign(s) are epic in the lord of the rings style with world-ending consequences and grand quest lines. Serious tones on the table with fun above table. Somewhere between low and high magic (there are not floating cities). Homebrew world / monsters / items / story - but the player species, classes, feats, etc are all standard by the books.  I have a full handbook detailing the world for those interested. Campaigns have been ran around 6 times now with different players... so you are not the first to play through it. Hundreds of scenes, probably thousands of NPCs, and even detailed maps for you to drool over. We have built this over a decade of games and play. I value Actors (role-players) at the table, although the campaign is probably a 60/40 RP/combat split... serious on the table characters with fun above table.  For myself, I am a story-first DM who believes in the rule of cool and leaning into characters and their backstories. Every party that has ran these campaigns has experienced it differently - sometimes with different BBEGs due to how things played.  That story is the fun. DM me for more information if this sounds like what your group wants and is looking for. This will be the 7th party to go through this campaign.

Central/Northern VT 2 year long story-driven campaign looking for 1 or 2 more players. PCs just hit level 6, you would join in with magic items and a level 6 char right out the gate. For folks that feel like they only get to play in low level games, this is your opportunity to get in and run with a char! We meet 1x per month on Saturday from 11am-4pm. The players just celebrated their 2 year anniversary of the campaign and have cleaned out a Keep, finding themselves the new owners.  With this revelation they are discussing what comes next. Do they take ownership and try to rule? Diplomacy? Do they sell it? Offer it to someone else to run in their stead? On the other side of the Keep is a new and exotic landscape known as the "Wild Lands" where unusual monsters, animals, Magic items, and people's can be found - but very little is known about it. We have a Swashbuckler, Oracle, Druid, and Magus.  Happy to help onboard new players and/or experienced players who want to jump in. Alternatively if a new player felt the jump to level 6 was a bit challenging, we can have players come in at a lower level as squires or henchmen to the PC - and grow new players at their speed and comfort. We are all very welcoming of all peoples and all walks of life.  Inclusion is where we choose to be as a group. If you enjoy story driven games where your actions and choices impact the world around you, this game may be for you! The players asked me to advise new potential players that the game has a serious tone.  It is not slapstick comedy.  While we have fun, characters have died to powerful NPCs, and monster encounters.  While serious about gaming, we don't take ourselves too seriously. However - slapstick stupidity in game does carry a cost, as some players have found - so - the warning was shared as requested.  In character actions carry in character consequences (both good and bad). Couples, Parent/Teen, Solo Players, Lady Gamers, LGBTQ+ welcomed and encouraged.  Age limit is 16 with a parent, otherwise 18+. Please let me know if you are interested and we can chat more about the campaign, game, themes, etc Hope to hear from you!

Check out the page over at StartPlaying when you're ready to get started! Check it out here! Have you ever watched an anime where an adventurer's guild gets introduced and then is completely ignored? Did you think to yourself, "Wow, wouldn't it have been cool if they'd actually done something with the adventurer's guild..?" Well, want no more! This will be an adventure structured around guild life, ranked missions, anime vibes, and the rule of cool. There will be a lot in the way of combat and plenty of opportunities to show off your build while exploring ancient ruins, ransacking big, custom dungeons, and probably being a menace to a corrupt government official or two. Inspired by modern and old school fantasy anime, alike (think Slayers, Lodoss War, and Berserk as well as DanMachi, Shield Hero, and Goblin Slayer). Everything will happen in a custom setting, on a continent called Mirth that has an epic apocalyptic backstory and a cast of exciting and eccentric NPCs to set up for epic campaigns. This game is welcome to anyone who wants to play Pathfinder 2e for the first time or the fiftieth. If you love Pathfinder's combat, awesome anime fights, and a touch of anime power fantasy, then you're invited to join the Mirth Hero's Guild. Come become the biggest, baddest dude in the room and then make sure everyone knows it! *** Play-by-Post is a low-stress, highly-rewarding format and I love helping people get a grasp on it. Do you want to join a campaign but your availability prevents you from committing regularly? Does engaging at your own pace throughout the week without the pressure of the moment and with consistent Gamemaster support sound like something you'd enjoy. Well you're in the right place! The Play-by-Post (PbP) format is nearly as old as D&D and is a rewarding way to engage in this fantastic pastime. While it is true that the comradery of the kitchen table is lost in PbP, you gain the ability to plan without pressure, to refine your roleplay, to research your actions. Many see Play-by-Post as more immersive than live games, that the Theater-of-the-Mind is more easily engaged without the typical distractions of the table. Expect 1-3 posts a day from me, during the week. That means mechanically or narratively significant posts that move combat and/or the story along.
