Description

$10 per session, max of 5 players - more info about the GM available at the end. When a concerning disease hits your island, school is canceled, and you are taken away to a new land and new school so you can finish your education. The graduation process there is very strange, and it soon appears you might not be as safe from the plague as everyone thought… What to do? – face foes in a magical tournament; explore the castle and its surroundings; learn new forms of magic in foreign lands; join one of three houses, Valeroz, Calcunaow, or Geisthauch to participate in house activities; and dare to dwell on the secrets that your school could have brought here. 🌎 What a wonderful world! Hidden away from the world of mere mortals, and literally sunken by magical forces, lies The Gash. Why all the magical creatures and arcane-aligned people were swallowed whole, and thrown here is for no one to know, but there’s little complaint. After all, being separated from those witch hunters was best for all involved. Humans and creatures coexist happily, most of the time, even those more inclined to tricks less-than-harmless pranks, and such unkind predilections. By all standards of measure, The Gash is a place full of wonder and peace, but something nefarious boils beneath the surface. 🧚 We wish you the best of luck in your final year, given the circumstances… You are students, freshly or close to 18, ready to begin your graduation year! Oh, how exciting, final year classes! You wait, but they never come. No ward-fencing, no spellcraft, no herbology, alchemy or even fae diplomacy classes whatsoever! School? canceled by The Magi council. Adults? Handling an unprecedented crisis. The Fae? Sick, losing their magic, and their contract-drafting abilities! Soon, even the wizards started to feel it. The whole island grinded to a halt, but sent away, the students are free. Bright side? This ends in a free exchange student program overseas! To the land of the Triarchy! 🏫🎓 A new school… What a different graduation year… Welcome to the Mystic Summit! Congratulations on your entry to The Triarchy’s Institute of Magical Arts, we hope you enjoy your stay! The final year here is entirely comprised of a group project, participation in the Mystic Summit is compulsory, and 80% of the grade. Apply all that you know: face champions, creatures of magic (that lend themselves for spectacle) and other wizards in brave duels, race them with your brooms or ward-fence, using your blade to cast offensive and defensive spells up close! ⚠️Containment failure? Despite your escape, it’s very soon that symptoms in the forest creatures and fair folk around the school become cause for concern. Wasn’t this an isolate case? All students were cleared of the sickness… Have the Magi failed in containing magical phenomena for the first time in 500 years, or... is there something sinister going on?

LGBTQ+ friendly
The table is openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ players.
🎓 Who Are You? You are a student at the **Nocturne Conservatory**, a hidden college for young witches beneath the town of Duskfall. Most students are between **18 and 22 years old**, balancing two very different lives. By day, you attend classes, work part-time jobs, hang out with friends, and try to survive college. By night, you study advanced magic, dangerous rituals, and centuries-old traditions. Whether you were born into the magical community or discovered it later, you're still trying to figure out who you want to become. --- # 🏫 Your Two Worlds ## ☀️ Life Above Ground Outside the Conservatory, Duskfall functions like any other small coastal college town. You might spend your days: - Attending university lectures - Working a part-time job - Meeting friends at cafés - Going to concerts - Pulling all-nighters before exams - Exploring the town - Joining clubs or organizations Most people believe Duskfall is completely ordinary. They're wrong. --- ## 🌙 The Nocturne Conservatory Hidden beneath abandoned salt mines lies one of the oldest magical colleges in existence. Here you'll study subjects like: - Ritual Magic - Arcane Theory - Demonology - Magical History - Wards & Protection - Potion Brewing - Cursecraft - Spirit Studies -Evocation -Divination Your professors expect excellence. Failure can have consequences beyond a failing grade. --- # 🎭 What Is This Campaign About? This is a character-driven supernatural mystery focused on: 🔮 Magic 🕵️ Investigations 🎓 College Life 🤝 Friendships & Rivalries 📖 Hidden History 🩸 Difficult Choices While combat certainly happens, your greatest tools are curiosity, teamwork, and creative problem solving. --- # 🧙 Creating Your Character Think about the person behind the magic. ### What are you studying? Examples include: - Magical Law - Ritual Studies - Alchemy - Spirit Research - Enchantments - Magical Medicine - Ancient Languages --- What's your life like outside class? Do you... - Work at a bookstore? - Play in a local band? - Run the campus radio station? - Captain an intramural team? - Volunteer in town? - Spend every night buried in the library? --- How do you feel about magic? Maybe it's... - Your calling. - Your family tradition. - Just another subject to pass. - A burden. - An obsession. - Something you're still learning to trust. --- Why did you come to the Conservatory? Everyone has their own reason. Maybe you wanted: - Knowledge. - Freedom. - Answers. - Prestige. - Adventure. - A fresh start. --- 💬 Roleplaying Tips Your character is an adult, but adulthood doesn't mean having everything figured out. Lean into uncertainty. Make mistakes. Build friendships. Question authority. Support your classmates. Sometimes the biggest victories happen outside of combat. --- 📖 What Your Character Knows Every student knows: ✅ Magic exists. ✅ The Nocturne Conservatory is one of the oldest magical colleges in the world. ✅ Duskfall has a hidden magical community. ✅ Magical traditions are deeply important. ✅ Strange things occasionally happen around town. Your character does **not** automatically know: ❌ Every magical secret. ❌ Every hidden faction. ❌ The truth behind Duskfall's history. ❌ Why certain traditions exist. Those answers will be discovered throughout the campaign. --- 🌒 Welcome to Duskfall Study hard. Trust carefully. Question everything. Because in Duskfall... **Some secrets have been waiting centuries for someone to uncover them.** Like to application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf784PDqgFyQQcG_tInei2V3mVF9q-hKDGLUMwY23YeFNjbSA/viewform?usp=header

The Somnium Shard |5.5e DnD| Long-Term Sandbox Sun

Paid game

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Welcome to the Somnium Shard. A sundered paradise; knowledge, gods and power's all known throughout the land, its history coveted by lost tomes, cosmic knowledge and crazed minds. With earliest carvings detailing a different world that may have been the Shard's muse, the inspiration for reality. However not all could be replaced, and the world's panorama was in its own natural discourse, with the residents at home. With that overly grand intro done welcome to my personal world, a multi-year labour of love that I'm still working on with every session, a sandbox type world for players to discover, learn about and influence as they desire. Designed as an open campaign for players to fit into as they wish, follow the threads of their backstory, or start a questline that leads to them swearing loyalty to a kingdom. Whatever it is you feel you want to do in a fantasy world I'll accommodate it as well as I can. However do not think that this means everything is free, the Somnium Shard is still a living and breathing world, thievery, murder and the sort will have consequences, as will trying to steal that magical artifact. You'll have to contend with mages scrying on you, rangers tracking you and bounty hunters after you if you upset the wrong people. So come and join the adventure, see where your characters can take you, how they can evolve and develop in this world with a DM that can handle whatever you feel like throwing at him. Beyond the hearth lie forgotten roads, the halls of fallen kings, and a Shadow stirring in the forgotten corners of Middle-earth. Your journey begins in Bree, where rumours of ancient ruins, growing unrest, and the lingering memory of Angmar draw an unlikely fellowship onto the road. Of Hope and Other Sorrows is a Tolkien-grounded, roleplay-heavy sandbox campaign where exploration, friendships, difficult choices, and small acts of courage shape an unfolding story. Your adventures also share a living world with my established Thursday campaign. Through letters, rumours, and discoveries, the actions of one fellowship may influence the fate of another. What to expect: Meaningful roleplay, exploration, mystery, and occasional dangerous combat. A reactive world shaped by your choices and character backstories. A welcoming, collaborative table for newcomers and veterans alike. When: Tuesdays, 18:30 UTC (2–3 hours) Where: Discord + D&D Beyond Maps Price: $20 per session Spaces: 5 available; 2 more players needed to begin. No previous experience with Tolkien's RPGs required.
