Description

The Inhuman War is over, and the world stands upon the threshold of a new age. Born from the ashes of conflict, unprecedented technological advances have opened paths once thought impossible, ushering in an era of discovery, ambition, and boundless opportunity. Beyond the Veil lies the New World. A land of untamed wilderness, long forgotten mysteries, and riches unknown. Drawn by dreams of wealth and glory, or simply the hope of a better life, thousands have set sail for the New World. Yet for every tale of prosperity, there are whispers of those who vanished without a trace. Strange wonders and ancient dangers await, and the New World guards its secrets fiercely. The age of exploration has begun. What awaits is yours to discover. About the Game and the World The world had long been divided in two by a great storm called the Veil. Many had tried to conquer it, but none had ever returned. That changed about 20 years ago, when a mysterious man possessing powerful magic appeared in the Kingdom of Liria, claiming to have come from the New World. Along with him, he brought the instruments of the bloodiest war ever fought. After his defeat, the technologies and magic he left behind allowed for the construction of ships and vehicles capable of breaching the Veil. Over the past 10 years, people from all over the Old World have been traveling to the New World. Some seek treasure, some seek fame, and others simply wish to leave their past behind and explore. A temporary state of peace has been achieved across the Old World, as the Five Great Nations are making a joint effort to explore the New World. The game is set in the late 18th to early 19th century, so simple firearms will be present. Aside from that, the game is a fairly lighthearted D&D campaign, with some homebrew content used on occasion to spice things up here and there. The game contains a custom system for crafting magic items, as well as a large amount of homebrew monsters, items. The Rules We are predominantly using the 2024 rules, though there are some exceptions when it comes to certain mechanics, as well as a decent amount of homebrew content. This mostly applies to things like magic item crafting and other elements that occur less frequently. The State of the Game Somewhat recently, we had two of our players leave the game due to scheduling issues caused by college and work, so we are looking for replacements. The party is currently level 8 and consists of a Human Fighter (Battle Master) / Barbarian (Path of the Beast), a Human Wizard (Bladesinger), a Lizardfolk Druid (Circle of Wildfire), and their pet Kruthik Rogue (Phantom). They are currently exploring a monolithic tower in the Storming Sands, attempting to grow stronger before challenging the region's tyrannical ruler. Where, when and how ? We are using foundry VTT as our platform. We play on Sundays at 19:00 GMT +2, and play for 2,5 - 3,5 hours. We use Discord to meet up and talk. If you have any questions and wish to apply, send me a DM on Discord.  My Discord is merlintheslime.

West Marches / Living World
One world and a big pool of players, but no fixed party - whoever signs up that week is who plays.
Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Jormundy Platform: D&D 5e, Avrae, Discord Format: Text RP, westmarches, living world The sun has died in the sky, and the world has gone dark. This event, known as the Sunfall, bathed the world in the freezing night. Yet, against all odds, civilization has survived. Amongst the icy plains, amongst the glaciers, amongst the giant snow drifts and amongst the ruins of a world millennia lost, stands the glowing spires and the shining beacons of Jormundy. Warmth and light shine down from its towers, and its dome shelters it from the cold, dark world outside. But this light and warmth does not radiate equally. Under the dome, cloaked by the light, behind the walls lays a structure caught in a nightmare of development. Jormundy is experiencing its own little industrial revolution, and all the inequality that comes with it as it destroys the land it sits on and the air it breathes. It finds itself segregated into layers, its workers destined to never become anything more, its elites clinging onto power forever. The Hearth Church stands atop it all, watching with one first of velvet and another of iron looming over all, locked in a never-ending scramble to destroy all that is heretical. But discontent grows. Whispers of solidarity stir in the shadows, forgotten gods find their followers, and the night grows ever colder. What shall become of Jormundy? /// What we offer: - A roleplay and story focused server with good-quality. Story arcs, events, multiple dms, and opportunities for PC arcs. - A custom xp system, where you can earn xp simply by roleplaying - A massive, fully fleshed out city state for you to explore - An active political scene; scheming nobility, powerful industrialists, an ever-present church, shadowy cults, and the whispers of labor in the smog of the factories - A ban on generative AI, to ensure your time and effort is respected. - An LGBTQ+ friendly environment. - Extensive review of content as it is released; we're always updating our approved content list! It's expansive. Something calls, whether it be the riches of the Heights, or merely a desire to survive. Either way, Jormundy would love to have you. https://discord.gg/NwZbxscAZ2

D&D. DM is looking for the players (16-18+)

Homebrew
House rules, a custom setting, or a system the Game Master wrote themselves.
Roleplay focused
Conversation, character and story take up most of the table time.
All week, a group decides on day & time. Most people will probably play between 16:00 – 21:00 (GMT+0) Played in Discord voice chat A lot of people wanted to play, but later they went passive/ignore mode. Please, message only if you are going to play, don't make the other players wait Discord nickname: weebseatshit *PREMISE* You are dragged into a dangerous encounter together with other unlucky ones. Now you are bonded whether you want it or not. Since you are a witness, some people want you dead, watch your back(s) & trust no one It's a Forgotten Realms based, custom (homebrew) campaign with an emphasis on story, characters & adventures, *WITHOUT LEVELS & STATS. "Theatre of the Mind" playstyle (means no VTT). Casual, beginner friendly Every player can has his own, custom spells/abilities. Custom spells should be created within reason. Imagine that those spells are used against you. A player has up to 5 spells from the start A player should choose a class that is the closest to his preference & then create spells/abilities. If a player can't, i'll help I'd like every player to be equally powerful Only these races are allowed: Human, Elf (Moon, Wood), Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling (Purple, Pink, Blue), Tystling (a human with cat ears (& eyes)) These classes aren't allowed: Artificer, Barbarian, Monk, Psion d20 roll results: Dungeon Master sets a number in an RNG & decides what success number a player should roll Spells don't need mana or d20 roll to be cast, they only cooldown, but if a player is gonna spam spells, i'll Elfen Lied him or put some shit like Leo Bonhart from Witcher that will equalize/balance him *COMBAT* When combat starts, characters & their enemies roll for initiative to decide who goes first (the one with the biggest number, then decreasing or as Dungeon Master decides) If it's a tie result, reroll To choose a target for an enemy, Dungeon Master sets a number in an RNG To attack, character & other character(s) roll d20. If attacker's number is bigger, he deals damage. If attacker's number is less, a defending character dodges. A defending character can perform a counterattack, but if he fails, he receives damage To defeat (wound) a character: • Character must receive damage a certain amount of times • Character does it with any possible way (using environment, persuasion) I'll describe locations, looks, with little to no details. So, when a player is for example in a forest, search for "D&D forest artstation" or "forest artstation" & ambient You can check The Witcher 1 video game. It's my main inspiration when it comes to background (buildings, outdoors, interior design, clothes, general looks, basically all) Just like with the books, i'd prefer that player imagined his own stuff (& because there may be an info that player may not get or just ignore)
