Description

Intro to Terra If you’re coming from Faerûn, think of Terra as a vast continent that used to feel like one big, functioning empire. A tradition of feudalism, with noble "High Lord" houses ruling over their regions. All offering allegiance to a central authority, the most powerful noble house, Arista, and crowned it's leader as the First Lord. So the Legend Goes At the dawn of this world, the Gods watched our people struggle to survive in an unforgiving world - Early settlements decimated by violent storms. Explorers slaughtered by ferocious beasts. To have a chance at survival, these benevolent Gods gifted the lands with powerful spirits. And for the inhabitants, an ability to bond with these spirits. As these lands were conquered, creatures brought over were quickly surpassed by Humans, who found they could tame and even command these spirits. For thousands of years, these settlers fought and struggled to secure as much power for themselves as possible. Anarchy, chaos, and endless bloodshed, with the most vulnerable most at risk. It was not until those wielding the most powerful elemental magic banded together that law and order was able to form. Rather than fighting each other, they spread across the lands in a uniform effort to end the violence. Forming what are now known to be the High Lords of Terra. These High Lords rallied behind the most powerful among them, First Lord of House Arista. For generations, there was peace among the world. Humans across Terra in harmony with one another and their spirit blessings, working together to build great cities, sprawling farmlands, relying on each other for protection. The Civil War starts... Nearly one hundred years ago, tragedy struck when the First Lord passed away, leaving behind two sons with competing claims to the throne. The older son, born of an illegitimate affair with the High Lady of House Kalara, vied for the throne against his younger brother, son to the First Lord's wife. The conflict immediately turned bloody amongst the High Lords. On one side stood the loyalists, supporting House Arista and the rightful heir to the throne as appointed by the King's betrothed. On the other stood the would be usurping traditionalists, who sought to uphold the laws of succession. They rallied behind House Kalara. Now, a century later, the realm remains divided, locked in a never-ending struggle for power and dominance. The loyalist houses of Teos, Retosia, and Pytion stand firm in their support of House Arista, while the traditionalist houses of Sultern, Rhodes, and Toria remain steadfast in their allegiance to House Kalara. As the conflict rages on, the fate of the realm hangs in the balance. One thing is certain - It cannot survive another century of civil war. A Forgotten Evil Stirs... While the realm is torn apart by war, a new shadow rises. Mysterious disappearances reported near the uninhabited forest. Legend of an undisturbed kingdom made of wax in it's center. Ghost stories of an ancient evil laying dormant... now waking up.
Hello! Looking to stretch myself and finally start a new table with a homebrew I've been putting together for a few years. Looking for players that are in a similar timezone (PST). I'm also a parent, so would be looking for evening sessions after kiddos are asleep (~7pm PST). The world's lore is loosely inspired by Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series, mashed together with Faerun. Familiarity with source material is not required or expected at all. Lore will be provided on this world, and the unique elemental powers ALL characters will have access to... With this world, there will be some restrictions on the Player Characters. All playable characters at this time will be Humans. Most classes are workable, though the system really lends itself to Martials/Half-Casters. I would highly recommend using one of those. I'm not a major Rules Lawyer, big believer in Rule-of-Cool and being adaptable. Improvising and leaning into the roleplay is where the magic happens. There will challenging, purposeful combat but not a meat-grinder style of a campaign. Getting the right dynamic is very important to me, so will definitely be intentional. Would also love some diversity (both in character and out of character) at the table. If this sounds interesting, please reach back out! Would be happy to discuss further and share more info on the lore to make sure it's a good fit. Regardless, best of luck to you on finding the right table. :) Cheers, Windy

The Epic of Relovia

[5e 2014 & 2024][Boise, ID area][LGBTQIA+ Friendly] Veteran DM looking to take some cool people on a homebrew adventure. Hello everyone. I am looking into starting an offline game in my area. As of now, I am looking for 2 or 3 people who would be in the mood for a long term campaign that is partly in progress. Please only apply if you are of the age 21 or older. Edit: I live in Meridian and the game will take place at my apartment! Sorry for that confusion! Who are you, strange internet person? I am a man in his late 30s who has been playing TTRPGs for about 15 years. I started with 3rd edition and found my home in Pathfinder for the majority of that time. I recently wanted to expand that portfolio into 5e with the 2024 ruleset but I will allow for usage of the 2014 ruleset pending review! This is my first 5e game so expect a lot of rule checks. That said, I have physical copies of 6 of the books (DMG, PHB, MM, TCoE, XGtE, and MotM). I have plans to get the newer books but they are expensive and I am a poor little guy. What sort of game will we be playing? The game itself will be a dark fantasy and post-apocalyptic world known as Relovia. Relovia suffers under the blight of the Stillborn Moon, a failed god seedling that has turned Relovia into an ashen hellscape of mutated monsters, aberrant horrors, and terrors beyond imagining. Themes include body horror, cosmic horror, survival, existentialism, hope, and defiance. The campaign will be about 70-30 between roleplay and combat. 70% of the campaign will be social encounters, exploration, and the like while the other 30% will be combat. A master document will be provided which will go over the setting and is highly recommended reading. You don’t necessarily have to make a good character but you have to make a character that wants to take part in this story and wants to travel with the group. Actions will have consequences and Relovia can be an unforgiving place. We will be playing at level 3 in a campaign that is already a couple sessions in but we are at a point where we can integrate new characters very easily. I am aiming for a heavy immersive game and so backstories are mandatory and coming with the attitude of wanting to explore the world, while not mandatory, will help you enjoy yourself much more. When will this game take place? I have a strict work schedule so as of now the only time the games can take place is on Sundays. Currently, we play at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Local Time. Mountain time! As of now, I have not nailed down a time for the campaign to pick back up, but the sooner the better. What kind of player am I looking for? Mostly just looking for players who identify with the stuff they’ve read so far. I’ll be straight up, I am under no illusions as to what kind of state I live in. If you support or supported Trump, are MAGA, or the phrase ‘I’m not very political’ is part of your regular vocabulary, you need not apply.  The table does tend to have a few minutes of time at the beginning of each session, to chat, mingle, and politics frequently comes up. If that sounds like something that appeals to you, awesome! I would love to hear from you. My DMs are open and I’d love to chat a bit to get to know you. I am intrigued. What should I do next? Please send me a DM! I’d love to talk to you and I’d love to hear why you think you’d be a good fit for Relovia. If you read this far, please tell me what my favorite color is! (Hint: It’s purple).

So it took me longer than expected but i am finally getting stuff together for my own campaign. Maps and minis and stuff. I would prefer to have players who can commit to regular play but i can easily work with absences due to the nature of the campaign. I am still looking for around 60/40 roleplay/combat.  I am willing to do a short one or two session adventure in my setting if people want to feel things out first. I intend to rent out the private room for sessions. I don't know if this matters to people but I have 0 desire to use AI in any of my campaign so if that matters to you there you go. A summary of the setting and what's going on as relayed by Arius, the figure with the bow in the images:  Long ago, when gods ruled the land, and men sailed the sea, when the earth trembled and the sky broke, a great beast rose up in the shadows, and cast the world into perpetual twilight. As the shadows grew long, horrible monsters rose from them. For many long years, the gods fought against this darkness, but they struggled. They cast their holy light upon the beast, but the brighter it burned, the darker the shadows became.  Finally, in the year 482 of the common era, Lifskona, the goddess of the sun, queen of the heavens, made a deal with the men of the sea. They would be allowed dominion over the land, in exchange for driving the beasts away, so that the gods could direct their power towards their true foe. Man would be blessed with great magic to aid in this war.  Their attention no longer divided, the gods soon succeeded in binding their foe, and banishing him from the mortal realm, ending the long twilight. It was not so easy for man. Even with their new power, the tribes of the sea struggled to gain ground against the monsters we call the Drak.  What the gods percieved as a short conflict was a multigenerational war of attrition. Neither side gained ground and the fields of Flodlan ran red with blood.  It seemed the violence would never end. Many considered returning to the sea, and a happier world. It was only 20 years ago that the Namea appeared from the south to lend us their aid. Mysterious and wise, they turned the tide at the brink of defeat, and together with the men of the sea, pushed the Drak west into the desert.  Ram Anu, our king and the man who led us in that final push, rode back different. Nobody who rode with him will speak of what occurred.  6 years ago, the king rode out again, to end the Drak menace once and for all. He has never returned.  If that piques your interest, let me know. I know i've posted about this twice now. It's just taken a while to get things going.
