This podcast is about tabletop role-playing games around the world. In every episode, I interview RPG enthusiasts and professionals from a non-English speaking country about what games they play, what unique RPGs exist in their country, and how new people get into the hobby. Interviewees include regular gamers, club organizers, game shop owners, creators of actual play videos, RPG authors, and gaming studios.  While some places are known for their large role-playing scene and have a lot of local RPG systems, other regions of the world have smaller scenes and might not even have a single RPG in the local language. Every regular episode ends with a teaser for the next country – an excerpt from an actual play recording in that country’s language. The aim of this podcast is to broaden our horizon and find out about RPGs from all over the world. Enjoy! The Story Four years post gap, Absalom Station is failing. After The Awakening, societal upheaval began to fracture the station, culminating with the shattering of the Eye. Now three years later, resources are becoming scarce and those who remain are starting to get desperate. Not only have gangs been growing rapidly, but strange creatures and monsters have begun appearing all over the station. Residents form small communities to try to weather the increasingly post-apocalyptic landscape they find themselves in. In an abandoned neighborhood in the Arms, a small community of survivors huddle awake in a commandeered community center in the dead of the night. Tipped off that a local gang’s arrival is imminent, the center’s newest (level 0) members are tasked to defend their new home. Overseer Studio is a modern, desktop based "Digital GM Screen" designed to solve the problem of browser tab bloat and fragmented software during tabletop sessions. These tiles can contain anything from a simple notepad or a PDF viewer to a fully functional web browser. You can resize, group, and tab these tiles together to create the perfect command center for your specific campaign. VTT and Tool Embedding Overseer is designed to play well with others. You can natively embed Foundry VTT, Roll20, or Owlbear Rodeo directly into your screen. This allows you to manage your map and tokens in one tile while keeping your campaign notes and creature stat blocks visible in another, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab between programs. Offline First Architecture The application runs entirely on your hardware (Windows, macOS, or Linux). This ensures that your game is never interrupted by server outages or slow internet speeds. Your data remains on your machine, giving you total ownership over your preparation materials. Pop-out Player Sharing While the software is for the GM, you can "pop out" any tile—such as a map, a piece of concept art, or a video—into a separate window. This window can then be shared via Discord or Zoom, or cast to a physical TV for in-person groups, allowing you to control exactly what the players see. Extensible Plugin SDK For power users, Overseer features a robust SDK. Extensions are built using standard web technologies (HTML/JS), allowing the community to create custom dice rollers, soundboards, or automation tools that can "talk" to each other across different tiles within the session.
