The Final Bid (D&D 5E Homebrew) One-Shot / Free

Homebrew

Newbie friendly
I’m a dad looking to spend my free time meeting some nice people online and showing them the world I’ve made. I love building mini games and puzzles and sharing my homebrew with others. Since I can’t do that with my friends, I hope to find some cool people here who want to check out my world. Cheers!
If any players enjoy my adventure I'd love to continue playing with them once a month and have fun just diving into my homebrew world. If there is interest I will create more adventures for future playthroughs.
The Plot:
"An exclusive auction in the seaside town of Nighthaven has drawn nobles, wanderers, and fortune-seekers from across Edoran. Rumor whispers of miraculous seeds, rare treasures said to cure any illness, mend the gravest wounds, and perhaps even defy time itself. Gold is flowing, tensions are high, and behind every eager smile lurks a hungry ambition.
You and your companions have been chosen to protect a wealthy bidder and secure the prize at all costs. But in Nighthaven, fortune favors the bold… and danger is never far behind. Will you outwit rival seekers, survive the high-stakes bidding war, and claim the ultimate reward?"
Game System: D&D 5E 2014 or 2024
Tools: Discord and DnDBeyond.com
Schedule: Friday February 6th 8:00 PM EST
2 to 5 players
✅ Must-Haves Before the Game:
💬 Discord Account – Required
The entire game takes place in Discord voice chat, with visuals streamed directly through the app. Make sure you have a Discord account and can join the server link I’ll send you.
🎧 A Good Mic
🎥 Camera Strongly Encouraged
💻 Use a Desktop or Laptop.
Phones are not supported. iPads? Also not ideal. You’ll need to see detailed visuals I’m screen-sharing, like puzzle interfaces, app-style minigames, and cinematic clips. These simply won’t display correctly on a tiny screen.
🧙 Character Level & Stats
Starting Level: Level 3
Stat Generation: Any official method is fine, Standard Array, Point Buy, or even rolling. Want to roll 4d6 and drop the lowest? Go for it. Want to use an array to save time? Totally fine. Just don’t completely homebrew the system.
📘 Allowed Materials
Use anything from official D&D books (yes, even wild subclasses and expansions from things like Tasha’s, Xanathar’s, or Spelljammer etc...).
Safety Tools: I use breaks and open door.
The game has fantasy violence and swearing, but the tone is very casual and often silly at times.
Hey, I have a video link I made that talks about the style of game I run. I thought a video would be a fun way to describe my puzzles and homebrew.

I made this video explaining that sometimes for like "minor skirmishes" I use this mini game for combat to resolve insignificant fights that come up. It's very strange indeed.
There’s also regular combat via DnDBeyond’s Map VTT as well.

I also made this video explaining what I'm not good at as a DM. lol Well... there's probably lots of things I'm not good at, but I think the video covers the biggest ones.

I also have this think to my Legend Keeper account where I host some information about my homebrew world. You can find a world map there as well.
