Description

Game: OSE Classic Fantasy Day: Mondays Time: 6.30 PM - 9.30 PM (GMT+1) Frequency: Weekly Location: Roll20 + Discord (voice) I'm running an OSE Classic Fantasy campaign on Mondays, 18:30 to 21:30 (GMT+1). We have four players, but not everyone can make it every week. As such, we're looking for one or two more to join us so we can play more regularly. Both new and experienced players are welcome. We've had 28 sessions so far. Currently, the party is made up of characters ranging from 1st to 3rd level. Players often control multiple characters each session, although this is not a requirement. If you decide to join, you can roll up your own character or take control of a pre-existing one. Adventures take place around Guido's Fort, an isolated frontier settlement in a far-west region. We've been playing through B5 Horror on the Hill, although the party is presently involved in unrelated affairs. I've included homebrew content in the surrounding area, so the module is by no means the sole focus of the campaign. You can expect your typical classic-fantasy fare: exploring dungeons, fighting humanoids, contending with traps, and (hopefully) finding treasure. We don't do a lot of roleplaying, nor is there much focus on character development. Much of the conversation during sessions is out-of-character, although interactions with monsters and NPCs are often in-character. We've just switched from Owlbear Rodeo to Roll20, so there may be a short adjustment period while I get used to it. We use tokens and combat is grid-based. Sometimes the players draw the map, other times I'll draw it for them. Here is a non-exhaustive list of house rules:
  • Ascending AC
  • Combat Talents for Fighters
  • D6 Thief Skills
  • No Clerics of Neutral alignment
  • Chaotic Clerics have a variant turning ability (Pacify/Enthral)
  • 10-slot inventory (inspired by Cairn)
If you have any questions or would like to join, please get in touch.

Start Playing link : https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmrxzii1k00a9jr04ev58nj36?slug=cmmar8n4o00t4l7040hi3laio Of Hope and Other Sorrows is a linked, sandbox campaign using The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying 5E, where a journey begun beside a warm hearth in Bree may carry your Company far across Middle-earth. Rumours from the North Downs draw you onto roads less trodden, through forgotten ruins and into lands still haunted by the memory of Angmar. All the while, Goblins scurry in the deep places of the world, Wild Men heed the call of a white hand, and Elves pass solemnly along the East Road. The dead and the living cling to a past they cannot relinquish, while proud lords lend an ear to promises of power. Slowly, the troubles and grief of distant places enter your own story, and a wider Shadow begins to fall across your doorstep. And still there is time to meditate on unknown calamities, to exchange whispers by torchlight, and to give the matter of second breakfast its due consideration. Along the way, an unlikely companion becomes a dear friend, a stranger’s troubles become your own, and a place scarcely marked upon a map becomes somewhere you hope to see again. As the paths grow darker, these attachments give your choices their weight. Mercy may prove costly, courage may go unnoticed, and a small kindness may be remembered long after the Company has passed. Such things may travel further than you know. Your journey shares a living Middle-earth with my Thursday campaign, A Shadow Moves in the Dark. Through the Robin’s Roost, a quiet haven for trusted friends of the Free Peoples, letters, warnings, rumours and half-finished notes may pass between fellowships walking different roads. A discovery made by one Company may help another survive; a failure in one part of the world may send danger spilling into another. Each fellowship has its own tale, while the Shadow they face moves before the Wise fully understand its shape. Expect rich roleplay, meaningful journeys, layered mysteries and dangerous choices, with room to linger, form friendships and become invested in what happens to the world around you. You need neither a scholar’s knowledge of Tolkien nor previous experience with the system; I’ll help you find your feet. Bring curiosity, consideration for your companions, and a willingness to follow a story whose course your choices will help shape. Combat focused
Fights, tactics and initiative take up most of the table time.
Welcome to the Somnium Shard. A sundered paradise; knowledge, gods and power's all known throughout the land, its history coveted by lost tomes, cosmic knowledge and crazed minds. With earliest carvings detailing a different world that may have been the Shard's muse, the inspiration for reality. However not all could be replaced, and the world's panorama was in its own natural discourse, with the residents at home. With that overly grand intro done welcome to my personal world, a multi-year labour of love that I'm still working on with every session, a sandbox type world for players to discover, learn about and influence as they desire. Designed as an open campaign for players to fit into as they wish, follow the threads of their backstory, or start a questline that leads to them swearing loyalty to a kingdom. Whatever it is you feel you want to do in a fantasy world I'll accommodate it as well as I can. However do not think that this means everything is free, the Somnium Shard is still a living and breathing world, thievery, murder and the sort will have consequences, as will trying to steal that magical artifact. You'll have to contend with mages scrying on you, rangers tracking you and bounty hunters after you if you upset the wrong people. So come and join the adventure, see where your characters can take you, how they can evolve and develop in this world with a DM that can handle whatever you feel like throwing at him. TCR is D&D 5e with re-balances to make it more fair and fun. we operate like an MMO, you simply create your character then you can sign up to join any quest. you keep all loot and level up after each quest. You can have multiple characters if you want to try different set up out. We have 13 classes with a total of 170+ subclasses. We have re-worked the races and plan to add more as we go. if we dont have something that your looking for let us know :D We use discord for voice and Foundry VTT for battle maps, rules and character creation. The VTT is heavily modified to be easier to use and more automated so you can focus more on the combat and roleplaying rather than finding stuff in a clustered system. We have a group of active GM's throwing out quests on a weekly basis. Alot of these quests are also part of a larger quest series that lets you delve into more lore and investigations. Contact me if you wish to know more or join our discord! https://discord.gg/yGRMnh8cXg
