The Ugly Goblin

Overview

The Ugly Goblin is a vibrant TTRPG media hub that thrives on the intersection of community, commentary, and the sheer chaos of tabletop gaming. Far from the polished, corporate feel of mainstream productions, the channel embraces an authentic and relatable "around the table" atmosphere, focusing on the stories, struggles, and triumphs that every player and Game Master experiences. Specializing in a wide array of content—from hilarious "horrors of the table" stories to thoughtful system reviews—the channel covers a massive spectrum of the hobby. While rooted in the mechanics of

When Sky and Sea Were Not Named

TTRPG
High-Fantasy
English
When Sky and Sea Were Not Named (WSSWNN for short) is a fantasy tabletop roleplaying game. To play, you'll need a set of gaming dice, your imagination, and a few friends. One player, the Guide, narrates the story and sets up challenges for the rest of the group. The other players take on the roles of heroes who set forth upon doomed floating islands, rescue people from their fates, and rebuild civilization. A game of When Sky and Sea Were Not Named might be limited to a single island that players explore in a few hours. Or it can be a sprawling adventure spread out over months of play, with heroes steadily gaining more powerful abilities and technology. Beyond action scenes and combat, WSSWNN is about your heroic characters and their journeys together. You can learn new lore from other characters—perhaps allies you've rescued, or even foes you've graced with mercy. You can invoke your hero's ideals in dramatic moments, potentially turning failure or struggle into success.

FATE
Brute Force is a real-play comedic RPG podcast blended with in-character narration. We play a campaign of FATE Core (we started with World of Darkness) set in the high fantasy world of Eorith. Narrated by Jasper Spitwhistle, the resident bard of the Gilded Ram Groghouse and Tea Room, our campaign takes place in the high fantasy world of Eorith where magic sometimes works but seldom as expected. The party is composed of so-called "monstrous" characters like yetis, skeletons, harpies, or vampire bear children.
