This is Roots and Daggers, an actual play, TTRPG podcast, using the
Daggerheart https://groupfinder.gg/library/daggerheart-2025
system. We’re going back to the roots of TTRPG, where heroes rise, dice decide our fate and chaos is only 1 roll away. Our story takes place in the world of Soltherra. A world functioning with heroes who wield “the light”. Our 5 heroes have just graduated from the Hero program, but have ranked last….200/200th place. Will they rank up high enough go compete in the grand ascendance, a tournament of the generations best heroes? And will they learn what it means to be a hero? Find out in our podcast Roots and Daggers. We’re all first timers. I’m a first time DM and all of my players are first time players. We’ve done our best to bring you the most intriguing, action packed, comedy, drama, mystery adventure. We do make a lot of jokes, but there are times we reach sensitive topics. Dolmenwood is a fantasy adventure RPG designed by Gavin Norman - also the creator of Old-School Essentials - published by his studio Necrotic Gnome in partnership with Exalted Funeral Press, following a hugely successful Kickstarter that launched in August 2023.  It's built on a streamlined, customized version of the Old-School Essentials rules, but stands as its own complete game rather than a supplement, growing out of Norman's self-published Wormskin zine, which he'd been quietly developing since 2015. The game went on to win four ENNIE Awards, with its complete retail release - three core books, four adventure scenarios, a supplement, and a referee's screen - arriving through 2024 and 2025.
